OFFICIAL: Starfield and Redfall delayed to 2023

yeah. you really thought that Starfield wouldn't get delayed?
Well, yes. Is it that incredibly hard to believe?
how am i a troll? because we haven't seen any gameplay from a game that was meant to come out in 5 months? ok sure. that makes sense.
Because plenty of games wait for the E3 (or Summer Game Fest) to show their gameplay. It's absolutely not a sign of a bad game. Don't worry, we will see the game in due time.
you must not know anything about Bethesda.
The fact that you seems to wait for a gameplay more than 6 months before the release tell me that this is you who don't know anything about Bethesda. Be happy (or not) they announced Starfield that early (to get jobs, common practice in videogames)
From Todd himself:
He even teased that the time from announcement to release "could be a lot shorter,"
"How long that time is, is to be determined," he said. "It could be a lot shorter, believe it or not, or [six months] could be the right amount of time. It differs per project."
So yeah, I put you in the "little troll who act like he know everything" category, and judging by your reply in this thread, this is where you deserve to be.

A gift to the Xbox haters.

MS needs to stop buying any more studios and sort this crap out, All these new studios being part of the Xbox brand and so far only Forza Horizon 5 and Psychonauts 2 to show for it all nearly 2 years into Series console's life This is just such bad PR on almost every level…

One can only hope the likes of Forza and Hellblade 2 will be ready to go this year, or the PS fans will have a field day on social media, even more than they are today. Still it could be worse, one could be a Nintendo fan
Except for the fanboys gladiating stuff, I agree. MS has acquired a lot of studios, and yet their release schedule is sucking tremendously. Not only that, but Game Pass additions overall have been pretty weak for several months. They definitely need to sort things out.

Elden Ring scared everyone away.

On a serious note - glad it got delayed. Too much backlog and games anyways.

What a shitty year for Microsoft 🤦‍♂️
That's not how you sell consoles
To be fair it's been a shit 5 years.

Look at the 5 year output of any other console and there are a ton of exclusives.

The last 5 years of Xbox bas been dreadful:

Battletoads
Gears 5
Crackdown 3
Forza Horizon 4
Forza Motorsport 7
Sea of Thieves
State of Decay 2
Gears Tactics
MS Flight Simulator
Halo Infinite
Forza Horizon 5
Age of Empires 4

that's pretty much it on the last 5 years. Terrible!

This was to be my big holiday game. There's already fuck all to play this year.

Time to learn an instrument or a new language or something with all this free time, fuck...

Phil needs to show off his shelf again to provide some emtoional support

When is the next Bethesda coffee table video where they talk about how great they are?

I get fanboy point scoring, it's all part of the fun and the ride. But MS PR is a train wreck. Maybe it's time Greenberg was moved, a lovely man but the PR is all over the place ...
That said if we get Forza and Hellblade 2 this year I'll be happy

TFW your disastrous launch becomes a cautionary tale within the industry.
Which is funny given that it's coming from the company that made and launched Fallout 76... and the PS3 version of Skyrim... (or Skyrim in general).

1. yes. it's bethesda.
2. true but starfield was 5 months away. lots of other games release gameplay before this point and they release on time.
3. put me in whatever category you want but you're still an idiot.

The only thing I don't get is why they took so long to officially delay Redfall, when it was so obvious it wasn't coming out this Summer.

And why have we had very recent developer diaries where they have constantly reiterated the November release date.

Also, how come Starfield Starfield didn't break this news?

First half of 2023 can still mean over a year away. Huge delay. Unexpected. For Starfield I mean, no one cares about Redfall...

A near infinite list of examples as to why you don't announce a release date until you're sure you can make that date, and the dumb fucks at Bethesda decided to do it anyway.

Do they not remember FF15? Big, multimillion dollar reveal event for the release date, and then square announced a delay not even 3 weeks later. Absolutely no one believed Starfield would meet a release date when it was set a year and a half in advance.

Well that's this year done with, strange how between 2006 and 2011 Bethesda had 4 games for sale, 3 made by them, and now they can only manage about 1 in 10 years, too much focus on Fallout 76 online cash cows,

That just leaves Saint's Row for me, if it comes out!.

Probably too early in the morning.

Ah shit. I expect this for Hogwarts Legacy and S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2, but not you Starfield...

If Hogwarts Legacy, gets delayed ANOTHER year, I'll be pretty disappointed with that one (& I don't even like Harry Potter)

But the last two gameplay showings, look genuinely promising.

Haven't switched my Xbox on since Halo Infinite, looks like I'll be selling.

Trash console, you don't pay 450 to play 360 games upscaled, pathetic.

There will be undue hype in this game. I think it will backfire hugely, looking at Halo Infinite hyped beyond belief post delay even reviews have it relatively high scores and yet the final product was woeful.

It was impossible that Starfield was released this year. I always said the same: Zelda, Starfield and God of War are 2023 releases. I only need one more official delay to be an insider!
