Really when is Aaron Ross coming back, the guy plays through a dislocated shoulder 2 years ago and a fucking hamstring is keeping him out for the 3rd straight week. At least dockery is back, like to see the full depth of the secondary for once.

a shoulder injury would be easier to deal with than a hammy (as a CB)

How are the two comparable at all? One injury gives you full mobility, the other gives you next to none.

Yeah its just he was suppose to be back by week 1 or 2 when he got injured in the pre-season:lol plus he needs to have a rebound year, he was the weak link of the D(beside bulter)all of last year so need to get him right this year.

No I'm just saying the guy is tough but it just seems like his injury isn't healing at all.

Yeah Bulger plays scared, so he is pretty much useless now.
Boller is gunshy and very inaccurate but can throw 65 yards on his knees. Boller is a great back up but as a starter he's meh

Giants are fine without Ross for now. They have KC and Oakland before their schedule picks up with pass heavy teams that are actually good, starting with the Saints on the 18th. Rather have your best corner heal to full before coming back than to rush back early and risk further injury.

The Giants best corner by far is Corey Webster, who emerged in the Super Bowl run and last season as one of the elite CB's in the game.

I'm fine with Ross sitting as long as it takes for him to get his hamstring healed close to 100%. He had a real down year last season anyway. Terrell Thomas was a 2nd round pick and has looked fine as the #2. Having Dockery back as the nickle is a nice lift.

She showed some promise in his last game, so I want him to sling a few times and let SJax do his thang!

Ross' injury is odd, because it seems we haven't gotten a lot of specifics on it.

Still, with Webster, Thomas, Dockery, and Johnson, that's a group I'm happy with. Though still remind ourselves they have, still, just three Safeties. I would like them to sign, even if he's older, R.W. McQuarters.

As KilledByBill said, Ross isn't the team's best corner; heck, he isn't the second best according to some fans -- Terrell Thomas may or may not give up the starting job once Aaron does return. Dockery and Johnson are really good in their roles, as well, especially Johnson who is an undrafted FA.

Man, I had it on ESPN a couple of days ago, as back noise and heard Jim Rome call out Favre's "Midwestern Angel" routine. Mainly in regards to him stating he does not have bad blood with Green Bay. Was hilarious. Monday is gonna' be sweet.

And I would like to see the Giants coast through the next two weeks but I want be jinxin' nothing.

Boller is definitely a woman. Once during a Ravens/Steelers game I saw her take a shot to the nuts and she didn't even flinch. The reason she couldn't make it in Baltimore is you can't safely expose any kind of woman, no matter how ugly, to that ravenous group of criminals and murderers and expect her to come out of it unscathed.

She might get murdered, but at least she wouldn't be raped first.

Garcia: Raiders in 'unfortunate situation'
Updated: October 3, 2009, 4:21 PM ET

Free agent Jeff Garcia felt the need to get away from the Oakland Raiders.

After a short stint with the Philadelphia Eagles, it's more than apparent why.

"I have no problem going into a situation and helping a young guy out and really trying to help the team out overall more so than anything," Garcia said Friday during an appearance on Fox Sports Radio, referring to Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell. "I just feel like it's an unfortunate situation when the entire work ethic and the entire goal of the team is really put upon one guy's shoulder."

Garcia, 39, who was cut last month by the Eagles only weeks after his release from the Raiders, with whom he signed in April, said despite Russell's talent, he "really isn't maybe ready for that situation or ready to take on that sort of responsibility."

"When you put him on the field in a one-on-one workout session he'll make every throw for you," Garcia said during the radio show. "But when it comes down to making things happen in the heat of the battle and rallying the troops around you and making a case for the team, that's where maybe things aren't where they need to be."

With Russell slumping -- he has an NFL-worst 39.8 pass rating -- Garcia could've been an option for the Raiders to re-sign.

But his comments seemed to indicate he wasn't interested in that scenario -- in which case the Raiders likely would have to turn to Bruce Gradkowski, who sits at No. 2 on the Raiders' depth chart with Charlie Frye the third-stringer.

But Garcia said the scope of the Raiders' problems spans beyond the quarterback position.

"It was to a point where I felt like guys who walked through those doors that just were there to collect a check and not really interested in putting everything that they had within themselves on to the football field," he said. "And that was the frustrating thing for me to see.

"There were a lot of good young guys in that locker room who really want to do whatever it takes to win, but unfortunately it's not everybody," Garcia added. "In order to compete at this level in this game, everybody needs to be on board."

"Maybe it's because how things have been for a number of years now out there and they just don't see the hope," he said.

Garcia, who has started 116 games in 10 seasons, signed a one-year deal with the Raiders in April and said then that the idea of backing up anyone didn't sit well.

"There was some talk about how he would fit but the best way for me to approach it is the other two played so well and we are committed to JaMarcus as our starter," Raiders coach Tom Cable said shortly after Garcia's release. "Whether or not [Garcia] was comfortable in a role as a backup, it is what it is."

Garcia said Friday that he attempted to infuse a different outlook and a "fresh new start" into his Raiders teammates.

"To see the reality of the situation and realize what I may be up against staying here for the entire year, it hurt me, it broke my heart to do that to step up," Garcia said. "But I just felt like it was something I really didn't want to put myself through anymore."

DET @ CHI - I'm not as confident as I was last week, but I think we can pull this one out. I think it's been since 06' since the Lions won a road game, so it has to happen sometime, right?
CIN @ CLE
OAK @ HOU
SEA @ IND
TEN @ JAC
NYG @ KC
BAL @ NE - My personal philosophy is to never bet against Lord Brady, even in GAF Pick Em'. Same thing this week even though the Ravens are a Top 5 team.
TB @ WAS - Worst game of the season?
BUF @ MIA
NYJ @ NO - Drew Brees will light the Jets up.
DAL @ DEN
STL @ SF
SD @ PIT

I really hope Denver wins for the epic lulz we'll get out of Cowboy fans nationwide. I actually like Tony Romo and want him to succeed in the NFL, just not on the Cowboys.

Can't wait for tomorrow.:D

All the criticism for Romo coming out of Michael Irvine, Emmitt Smith, and Aikman just made me realize how many douchebags the Cowboys had back in the day.

If the Cowboys don't make the playoffs this year, though, I think Wade is gone and so is Romo. They'll probably bring in Shanahan, if he's willing, and trade for a draft pick to grab Colt Mc...

...oh, lol. They spent 'em all on Roy Williams. :lol :lol :lol

Yeah they think they're the Yankees of the NFL or something. Tony Romo brought some of it on himself by dating Jessica Simpson but I've seen the guy play enough to know he is a very good QB.

And lets not forget it was Bill Parcels who signed him undrafted, and if anyone knows talent in the NFL, its Bill.

...oh, lol. They spent 'em all on Roy Williams. :lol :lol :lol

:lol Indeed, I was shocked when I read Jerry Jones was going to give up a 1st and a 3rd for Roy Williams. I liked Roy a lot when he was on the Lions but any GM would've made that trade, expect for Millidiot who was already fired by the time that trade went down.

I was watching conan and joe buck was on. He says he and troy play in the same fantasy football league and often times they are broadcasting a game with their starters playing in it. He says that influences his commentating sometimes.... wtf.

and WE better not draft a qb in the first round. i love nate davis and i'm confident he will be our franchise QB. he just needs time..... time shaun hill can buy him for a couple years!

Considering the knob slobbing Shaun Hill has gotten so far unless he collapses somewhere down the line this season I don't see how the 49ers take a QB in the draft. Hill sucks but he's serviceable enough if they get more talent around him. Too bad they don't have a tall play making receiver to bail him out.

Joe Buck and Fantasy Football, the two lamest aspects of the NFL, together at last!

Coach Jim Schwartz Mic'd up during the Redskins game, telling Matt Stafford to "sling that bitch".

Matthew Stafford: Slinging, not slanging.

I'm convinced this guy will be our head coach for a long, long time. Such a refreshing change of pace for this franchise.
I agree, as of now, about Schwartz. I'm trying not to be the guy who's just latching on to the last chopper out of 'Nam as far as our coaching situation goes, but thus far I really like Schwartz. I'm watching this vid and it's just awesome.

"Hard count his ass!"
*Stafford draws them offside with hard count from 1st and ten from his own 1.*

Just awesome. I really like where this team is going and it's the first time in years I've actually felt optimistic about the future of the organization.

Not a good showing for me last week. Let's see if I can do better.

Where did all these Saints fans come from? Love it!

I know themadcowtipper has been holding it down for a while now, and that dude with the Space Invader (cartoon network) avatar thingy... but it seems our numbers have grown.
That's me, I changed my avatar though. I did notice a few new Saints fans this year, which is cool. I was wondering where you went... This is the first time I've noticed you in the thread since I usually just make my picks and on Sunday I'll say "Go Saints" and then concentrate on the games/fantasy.

Speaking of picks, is anyone keeping track of them? I haven't seen the weekly updates like the last couple of years. I'm going to keep putting them out there just because it's a habit either way.

I'm making a crazy pick this week. The Browns will score TWO offensive touchdowns this week.

I have five bucks riding on this.

I agree with you.
One for Edwards. One for Harrison.
(And they'll lose 38-20.)
