Mad Tracks Encore Pack is Live
If you haven't gotten enough castle action today while playing Carcassonne, maybe you should download the new DLC for Mad Tracks. The Mad Tracks Encore Pack features 9 new races and 6 mini-games including a ramp romp in a German Castle. All this can be yours for a mere 350MSP.
Silent Assassin: Soltrio Solitaire DLC Strikes Again
Apparently it wasn't sneaky enough to do it once, so the Silver Creek assassin came back to strike again. The victim is the same (your digital wallet) but the cause of death is slightly different (10 more new solitaire modes for 150 MSP). I'll bet until you saw this picture you didn't know the silent assassin was a busty brunette either.
Solitaire Soltrio Game Pack 2 arrived today (under cover of darkness) and includes the following new solitaire modes:
# Bristol
# Down Under
# Easthaven 2 Deck
# Easthaven 3 Deck
# Giant
# Golf Easy
# Golf (a personal favorite)
# Little Milligan
# Pauline
# Westcliff
Based on the list of modes for their PC version (titled Hardwood Solitaire...where have I heard the title Hardwood before? Hmm.) Silver Creek can still add a ton more modes in this a la carte style. I have to say I like that. Choice is important since it's unlikely that I would enjoy and play 100+ different forms of solitaire. Just sayin'.
That's no dewy-eyed recollection, either, because a couple of weeks back I was fortunate enough to be one of the very first people outside of Codemasters to play an "almost finished" build of the game, based on the definitive 96/97 version that was the result of five solid years of tweaks and refinements to the already wonderful 1992 original.
Wisely, the game looks, feels and plays absolutely identically to how you remember it - which is no surprise when you realise that the game is built using the same codebase used for the 96/97 version. Rather than try and cobble together an approximation from the ground up, this is as close to the the real deal as humanly possible, complete with the same fonts, same visuals and even the same menus, sound effects and music. It's such a perfect tribute to the brilliance of the original that you'll want to pull your shirt over your head and run around the room screaming with pure joy.
Meanwhile, the most important piece of information you'll want to glean is "when's it out?" and "how much will it cost?". At present, it's looking like a late July release via Xbox Live Arcade, with a PC release planned for later in the year - possibly September, but more likely later. As revealed previously, PC and 360 gamers will be able to face-off online, which should be fun. Other details like Achievement points and such like remain unconfirmed at present, but a press event scheduled for next week should reveal all.

These epic soundtracks in puzzle games always crack me up. It's like having a live orchestra play behind you while you shoot marbles.HydrantC12 said:TeamXbox Puzzle Quest Preview and Video

That's a great move for Band of Bugs; I hope it's successful. Ninjabee is awesome, and they keep putting out original games that are pretty unique on XBLA.Brakara said:Latest XBLA list from Major Nelson:
No XBLA games were on the top live titles list this week.
I think word of mouth will help Carcassonne, the same way it must have brought Band of Bugs to 2nd place. The cream will eventually rise to the top.AstroLad said:With Band of Bugs doing so well and Pac Man CE and Carcassonne seemingly falling in below expectations, I'm really glad I'm not at a publisher deciding which XBLA game to go with; it's baffling really.

EurogamerAtari has announced that Missile Command be this week's addition to Xbox Live Arcade, with game set to go live on Wednesday, 4th July.
Atari has yet to confirm the price, but we can't imagine it'll cost more than 400 Microsoft points (GBP 3.40 / EUR 4.65). Actually, it's Xbox Live Arcade, so I suppose we can.
