Hey, anyone who has played Bomberman, when you die, do you turn into a ghost who can roam one side of the screen throwing bombs at the players still alive below you?
You pop up around the sides (r/l/top/bottom), riding a hippo or something like that. You can toss bombs, holding the button throws them a little longer.

Bullet Hell shooter?
No.

If so obviously with this much graphically going on its damn near impossible to even figure out what your ship is.
You're not a ship. Come on, man, look at more than one pic. You are the human character flying around, everything else is an enemy. You shoot them.

The character designs are rather bizarre. Old Samurai man, lady in pink stockings, and a four armed cyborg dude.
Pretty standard stuff for a japanese action game, no? The samurai guy has a little dog he can sic on enemies too!

And, hey, while I'm risking arne's knife I might as well go ahead and say that Puzzle Quest XBLA rocks too. The achievements are rather lame, though. Basically the old "just finish the game" type of acheivements are far as I could see (I'm not a PQ pro or anything). Oh well, the game was fun anyway.

Oh, well that sounds much more awesome. I really had no idea, and I did look at almost all of the pictures. I'm just not good at these kinds of things.

Thank you for bringing us this information :)

Ouch, Mad Tracks didn't even make it on?

Yeah, can't remember the last time a new release didn't appear on the list.

Edit: could be due to the glitch that had the full versions not being enabled after a purchase.

Well, ok, sorry, I kinda assume everyone interested in XBLA are old arcade hounds like myself.

Forgotten Worlds (and thus Omega Five since it's a clone) is a horizontal shooter where you fly and shoot freely in 360 degrees, but it doesn't play like Robotron/GeoWars/Mutant Storm with twin sticks. Instead, you shoot with a button and control both your character and aiming with the left stick. Steer away from something to aim in that direction, basically. It sounds more complicated and annoying than it is, I promise.

And even if you hate that style of play, the samurai guy doesn't play like that. He slashes in the standard left/right/up/down directions with a sword, with the option to fire off the dog who flies around placing crosshairs on all enemies on screen, and the samurai then shoots green lasers at them. Sort of.

Oh, **** yeah. See, when I heard shooter after seeing it, I assumed GeoWars. Both of those styles sound mega awesome. Thanks man, sometimes pictures just don't explain things.

PQ XBLA sounds excellent. I want your job :lol

Looks like Carcassonne is this weeks XBLA title. This was from the Xbox Live newsletter email thing I got today. It lists the game as "out now":

Anyone got any info on this game? I'm enjoying Catan so much that I'd love something similar.

Carcassonne is the Xbox Live Arcade version of the popular board game designed by Klaus-Jürgen Wrede for the Xbox 360, and developed by Sierra Studios. The game is due in June 2007, and is the second designer board game to be released on Arcade, the first being Catan.

Features

As in the traditional board game, players take turns playing tiles randomly drawn from a "deck" of 72. The tiles, when placed, can form castles, fields, monasteries and roads. After laying a new tile, players have the option of placing one of their seven follower pieces on a feature of that tile, in an effort to score points for a completed project. The game ends and is scored when all tiles have been played.

Unlike Catan, whose initial implementation included only the base game, Carcassonne will include "The River" & "The River II" expansions (originally published as add-ons). These can be enabled or disabled based on player preference. According to Sierra, additional expansions based on those from the board game including "Inns & Cathedrals" and "The Tower", will be released through Xbox Live.

Both online and offline multiplayer modes are supported; while four people can compete against each other offline on the same console, up to five can play via Xbox Live. Furthermore, the title will support the Xbox Live Vision camera, allowing players to view each other during play.

Watch it end up being 800 points. As for what is coming this week, why do I get the feeling that the second game (not Carcassonne) is going be this Pac-Man related announcement that is coming tomorrow?

You be the judge of that, pulled from that insane hype thread.

Today Microsoft Corp. and NAMCO BANDAI Games made video game history by unveiling the “Pac-Man Championship Edition” — featuring the first new Pac-Man mazes in more than 26 years — available only on the Xbox 360™.

The “Pac-Man Championship Edition” is the same beloved “Pac-Man” game played in arcades of the ’80s but is updated with new features that former “Pac-Man” fanatics and new generations of fans alike will love. It includes new mazes that dynamically change shape during gameplay, six new timed game modes, new soundtracks and high-definition (HD) graphics. Details include the following:
• Classic 2-D “Pac-Man” presentation with a new, modern look in HD
• Six new, timed game modes:
 The Championship Mode. This is the main game mode designed by NAMCO BANDAI Games and Iwatani specifically for the championship round of the Xbox 360 Pac-Man World Championship. This mode – as well as all others within the “Pac-Man Championship Edition” – features redesigned mazes with wide maze walls and a widescreen configuration to better enable high-speed game play. Timed limit of five minutes.
 Challenge Mode 1 (Patience and Reward Course). This mode is an evolution of the Championship Mode. Patience mazes strategically offer fewer Power Pellets and Reward mazes provide a large number of Power Pellets – providing unique challenges and rewards for the player. Timed limit of 10 minutes.
 Challenge Mode 2 (The Darkness Course). In this mode, only the area directly around Pac-Man and the Ghosts is visible and the maze walls are completely hidden. Timed limit of 10 minutes.
 Extra Mode 1 (The Freeway Course). An extremely high-speed mode for advanced players, this mode features warp-speed Pac-Man and Ghosts and plenty of tunnels. Timed limit of five minutes.
 Extra Mode 2 (The Manhattan Course). A mode inspired by the streets of Manhattan — the home for the first-ever Xbox 360 Pac-Man World Championship. Timed limit of five minutes.
 Extra Mode 3 (The Overall Course). A mix of all other modes resulting in extreme mazes for the most devout Pac-Man fans. Timed limit of 10 minutes.

Ah! I literally feel smarter now! :)

By the way, whereever that Microsoft PR came from, it wasn't the GamerScoreBlog, which means Carcassonne might be still on for this week.

I wish, but I doubt they'd want to put it up against such a historic title this week.
