Watching this at my friend's house tonight. Can't wait!

Just today on the toilet i was thinking how i hadn't really heard of him in a good while, and how i was kind of tired and wasn't really interested in watching a new Louis Ck show anyway.. for some reason (i just felt that way).

After watching the preview in the OP though i've changed my mind already, the joke about murder being legal cracked me up, damnit.

Damn it's September for us non-USers. :(

So ready for this. Interested to see how much of the material is what he did at the London show/s.

To answer vehn's question about the end bit:

There are a couple videos on youtube. One was Of Course the Make a Wish Foundation giving a dying kid is a beautiful thing and should be commended. But maybe, giving a kid a beautiful memory when he's going to be dead in a week is a huge waste of time.

That first moment where he says "of course, but maybe" in one single shot needs to be a GIF. It'd be perfect for so many things.

American stand-ups bring so much joy to me. It's one of those things that have enriched my life, because not only do people like Stanhope, Joe Rogan, Bill Burr, Louis CK, and so on, make me laugh really hard, they also make me think. They are observing the dumb stuff we do in society, and us laughing at it is the best thing ever.

I hope they will never censor comedy. And Louis CK is the master.

Excellent special. I think his outlook on life could just keep his standup funny, it isn't like he's getting progressively angrier at the world or anything, and even the dark parts weren't just shock comedy.

Thought it was great! Not on the level of Dave Chappelle's 'Killin' Them Softly' and 'For What It's Worth' but really funny.

The second he said the "Miner" thing, I thought "lol it works whether he meant Miner or Minor" and then he spent like 90 seconds indulging that visual. hahaha.

Incredible.

The driving/elevator bit was our favorite. My wife almost peed her pants.

Anyone know if HBO Canada will replay it? I want my parents to see it.

"Of course, but mayyybeee" was my favorite bit of the set. It wasn't my favorite special from him, but it was the best hour of comedy I've seen since his last special.

Now I'm bummed that his show is on hiatus for another year.

I thought it was good but not amazing. It started strong, and I liked the "of course but maybe" stuff, thought the road rage stuff was kinda hackey imo. [Seinfeld]Whaaat's the deal with yelling at people from your car?[/Seinfeld]

yesss that is what it was.

Also in one of shows from a few months ago he said his whole story of the guy trying to kick him out of the courtyard was a lie, and they are actually friends. Wonder why he edited that out on the HBO show!

Definitely his weakest set by far, and too much of him making noises and shit, but it was still good. Just disappointing after how amazing his other specials have been.

I haven't watched this yet but those two negative posts surprised me. Reading the rest of the thread, I did not expect them.
It's still good, just a noticeable deviation from his other specials imo, maybe it's just me though, lots of people in here are pretty high on it. I consider Louis to be the best in the world right now, so I have pretty high standards for him.

Excellent! OK, I'll have to show this to the folks, so they can see what I was raving about for most of last month :)

Just a heads up, in case you didn't know, there is an extended sequence of jokes about breasts and men's obsession with them.. if that might be uncomfortable for you/your mom. I know I'd be a little uneasy if my mom was in the room for that bit. Otherwise, surprisingly parent friendly set. Even with all the swearing, it mostly comes from stuff that will really hit home with parents, adults in general.

watched it last night, was really enjoyable and got better as the set went on. the of course/but maybe stole the show for me. Overall, not his best, but still great.
