Just a heads up, in case you didn't know, there is an extended sequence of jokes about breasts and men's obsession with them.. if that might be uncomfortable for you/your mom. I know I'd be a little uneasy if my mom was in the room for that bit. Otherwise, surprisingly parent friendly set. Even with all the swearing, it mostly comes from stuff that will really hit home with parents, adults in general.
That first moment where he says "of course, but maybe" in one single shot needs to be a GIF. It'd be perfect for so many things.
Not until September. Is it available to download from him yet?
I liked the stage he shot it on, that must be more nerve racking being completed surrounded by fans, but he did a great job of performing to the entire crowd.

He shot this in 4k, with one of the best cameras you can get. He said it should look really good for another 15 years. Where as most stuff shot today will look really bad as HDTV's begin to improve.
Was this better than Live at the Beacon Theater? I was incredibly disappointed with that one.

This entire post is wrong, this special isn't remotely close to Louis' best work at all. It's good but that's about it.I bought Beacon Theatre day of release and think it is the 'worst' of his specials but still better than 90% of any other comedian's special.
I think Oh My God is Louis's best special, period. I say that after watching Patrice O'Neal's Elephant in the Room special which is my #1, period.
There was not a bit in this special I did not laugh at and I also laughed out loud a bunch of times whereas Beacon I don't think I laughed out loud once.

Holy crap, that's so nuts. Your opinion is so alien to me. But I'm glad you have it.My perspective:
Lucky Louie > Louie
Rick Shapiro = Patrice O'Neal > Joey Diaz > Jim Norton > Louis CK
Louie is better on Opie and Anthony than he is in his specials.
So if anyone holds similar opinions to these, than I think you will really like this special.
In fact, this special has redeemed Louie in my eyes and I like him more.
I fucking died at "I'M A SLAAAAAVE."
To me, Live at the Beacon Theatre is one of his strongest shows, but also one where the highs are highest and the lows are lowest. I blame it on some of the material just not being that relatable or funny to begin with. For instance, having never done any drugs, the bit on drugs fell kinda flat for me, and I feel he spent a bit too much time on that Jizzanthepuss kid. I had to rewatch the show for it to really grow on me though. Beacon Theatre is an acquired taste.
Oh My God, by contrast, is more consistently funny, but there aren't really any jokes that have me rolling on the floor. "Of course, but maybe" has to be his best closer yet. His other shows never seem to have a real closer. They just end abruptly. Not so with Oh My God.
Also I'm a bit disappointed that the joke about his new place (where he acts like a hobo on purpose) got shortened compared to his performance in London: the HBO version of the joke ends with him relishing in the other dude's anger and confusion, but when I saw it in London the conclusion to that joke was that the guy never actually questioned Louis, but that Louis made the whole conversation up in his head because that's how insane he is.

Was this shot before or after London? The way he writes and evolves his material, how do you know it was actually cut editorially?
Has he talked about having to cut stuff? I'm sure he edited it himself, so it's not like he didn't have any say in the final product.
jesus, I hate statements like this. adds fucking nothing. congratulations on expressing your opinion about a piece of entertainment in the douchiest way possible.
