Oh well, once again Exxy is excited by a new Weezer album, and it ends up sucking. I bet you Exxy's gonna hate this one too in a month or so. He did it with Maladroit (which I like better than this new shit). Make Believe is available for free on www.nme.com by the way, if you want to give it a legal listen. It sucks.

After many listens, this seems like another personal album like Pinkerton was. Lets just hope Rivers doesnt regret letting out these feelings like he did with Pinkerton. Lyric wise, I REALLY like it now, the music is still okay. I'm glad I gave it a chance. In the end it is better than Maladroit.

Doesn't sound very personal to me. As pitchfork put it very adequately in their admittedly too harsh review, it's all Mother Goose rhymes. Very annoying. It's not witty like Pinkerton, and the music is heavily produced and boring, like the Green album.

I think people really got too excited after Perfect Situation's Pinkerton-reminding opening riff and singing. By the time the chorus came up, I knew that we were back in Green's territory. The song is ok, though, as are a couple of em on the album, but it's mostly drivel.
