Parody can just be imitation for humorous effect. In this case they are parodying Between Two Ferns and using that format to satirize videogames and the people being interviewed.
Well, they're doing it in an advertisement, which makes it a bit more tricky to fit under fair use, but I would imagine Sony contacted Aukerman. (And even if not, I'd hope he's enjoying the attention and kudos this pays to the original... plus, it's not a long-term campaign, it's just a few viral clips, so it's not like Shu Ferns could be confused with Two Ferns and encroach on the copyright.
Good work by Sony, nevertheless. Funny, clever, good guests, lighthearted, and nicely quick to the point.
As a Zach Galifianakis fan, this literally makes me sick. Between Two Ferns is a staple of Funny or Die, and it's not right for another company to basically copy and paste the show and call it their own. Hopefully Zach will sue or something, because this is so wrong.
