Yo Twins, can I borrow $20 for a pizza?
Lol, I must have missed something. Did we sign Hooper or something?
Edit:
Wow, I'm surprised we got him. I had absolutely ZERO intention of going after him at the beginning of FA, but as he continued to sit out there, I thought I'd float an offer since I had some room to work with. I didn't think it would be good enough, but I'm really happy to have him. According to the blurb, his wife talked him into it. She's a keeper.
Subtraction from a division rival and addition to your own club is never a bad thing.

Hope he works out for you. I offered him at the start but after sleeping on it I realized I offered too much. I withdrew my offer and he never wanted to deal with me again. Oh well.
Congrats on the signing, that looks like a hell of a deal. I was trying to scramble to put an offer on him last night but for some reason I couldn't get enough cash available.
I learned that the hard way early on as well. Don't pull an offer if you think you want a guy, which means make sure you're happy with your original offer. You can always raise it if they ask for more money, but yanking it makes players sour, it seems.

I like Rule 5 draft day way too much.
I loved having him but I really needed somebody who can play center. I had like 4 left fieldersDang Rowe getting traded again.
So I'm guessing we shouldn't put together a full list, but only draft enough players as we have room for on the 40-man?
Nope. Rule 5 draftees have to stay on your active 25 man roster for the full season or they are returned to the team they were drafted from. Only take guys that you think you'd keep on the roster for the full season. These guys cannot be sent to your minors the first year.
Oh, damn. Okay, thanks for the clarification. Definitely going to be a short list, then.

Usually, unless you're the real life Padres then you take like 5 guys.
I like to find high POT relievers and hide one in my bullpen. One of my best starters was a rule 5 guy. Pitched only 10 games that first year, then went to the minors for two seasons and the into the rotation where he's been a mainstay. Also a good place to find a backup position player.
Also I noticed the Cubs traded Kris Bryant to the Yankees last season for a top SP prospect, Bryant then blew out his ACL and became a FA, then turned around and re-signed with the Cubs.
Stay losing Yankees.
That's amazingI actually wish I had kept him to play RF as all I have are LFers, alas.

Thanks for being such a great community for our game.
Thanks, didn't know yo already updated it.
Wow, ended up getting 3 of the 4 players I had down.
Stay losing Yankees.
Got the one guy I was targeting. Drafting 4th helped. Thanks sync!
Glad you got who you were targeting. He honestly wasn't on my radar, in terms of protection, but hopefully he can be a useful piece of an Astros resurgence.
Even my good starters have been marginally disappointing. Best I could ever manage was a staff of #3 starters, and a freak season from Ponce.
There's a good reason I've kept Mark Grace around as my hitting coach, though.
Mets r back in action. Been crazy last few weeks but everything is good now. Time to be in last place again!
