He sounds NOTHING like Felix. Wow. I just assumed he was a flamboyant British boy. That's some incredible casting.

Which begs the question, where did we go wrong with Paul? :(

The best part about Jordan Gavaris is he is Ontarian and he sounds like he has a southern drawl. Where did that come from?

Yeah I don't get that, I was shocked when I heard his voice, and then doubly shocked to learn he was born in Canada.

A part of me really wants Felix to be a clone. The actor's obviously got the chops for it.

I really thought this would be a revelation in the finale.

Just finished this season. Pretty good, some cheesy moments which comes with the territory on tv but overall quite entertaining. Then I google/youtube this actress and

HOLY FUCK THIS BITCH IS CANADIAN? WTF? GIVE HER ALL THE AWARDS. ALL OF THEM

I thought her natural accent was English, because at times Alison's accent would slip slightly into british. I thought it was just a common actor mistake but wtf she was just slipping into her fake accent.

...

Orphan Black |OT| Season 2 - HOLY FUCK THIS BITCH IS CANADIAN?

Just imagine a nerdy uptight American Felix clone with a Southern drawl interacting with Awesome Felix.

Mnnnnnnnnnn.
This could be amazing, but writers would have to be at the top of their game not to turn the show into a comedy. Things could turn messy really, really fast. Right now the humor to drama balance is perfect.

Let's not call Tatiana a bitch even in jest kthx
This too.

I apologize for appropriating Discotheque's quote and purposing it for humor. I have brought shame upon my TV-GAF comrades and would resign if I held any elected position.

You're out of the Clone Club. Hang your Shakira wig on the coat rack when you leave.

Vic is such a scrub haha. funny thing is that i know a girl who had an ex bf like that. From the obsession all the way down to professional occupation.

felix is clearly a talented actor but if they have to introduce him as a clone i'd prefer it to be midway through season 2 or maybe for the finale. i just want sarah and company as clones for now. interested in them handling this dilemma

I spent this weekend watching the complete first season of Orphan Black. What a fun series! So glad this is picked up for a second season. It went completely under the radar when it was broadcast earlier this year, next season it could become a breakout hit. (Well, it deserves to be, it's a hugely entertaining show)

BTW I wish the actor playing Vic wouldn't brace himself for the slap in the face before he was actually hit.

I just binged on this show over the last couple of days. I've finally caught up on this entire thread, and it's so good to see that Tatiana Maslany won a Critic's Choice award for the role. She really deserves all the recognition she's getting and more. Jordan Gavaris is fantastic as well.

I might as well get it out of the way: Cosima is the sexiest clone by far. I'm not usually a fan of noserings, dreads and oversized glasses but Tatiana pulls it off in a way few others could. Cosima better get more airtime next season! #TeamCosima FTW!

As for the other clones, I found Sarah pretty unlikeable early in the season, especially when she lost her shit in Felix's apartment and started trashing the place. That still feels...off. That said, she has grown as a character and it's amazing how far she's come over the course of the season. She's just had so much responsibility dumped on her in such a short time period that she's been forced to grow up a bit. I'm really surprised by how popular Alison is in this thread. I mean...I don't dislike her, but she's probably my least favourite member of CloneClub, especially after how dark her storyline became in the finale. Yoga pants just don't do it for me, I suppose. Lastly, Helena is amazing and I am absolutely gutted to hear that she is dead-dead. I was really hoping we'd get some clone-healing powers come into play again there.

The show isn't without flaws. Tatiana and Gavaris are fantastic, but the rest of the cast are for the most part dull and uninteresting. I don't buy Paul and Sarah falling for each other at all; it just seems so forced and convenient. It doesn't help that Paul is so dull, even in the latter half of the season. Vic (while funny), is another useless character that exists to be a roadblock. Kill him off already. The villains (with the exception of Helena) are generic and lack any charm. Hopefully that will change with the introduction of Rachel, but as it stands the tense atmosphere of the first half of the season is largely absent now that we've been introduced to such bland villains as Olivier, Leakie and Thomas. There are also a few immersion-breaking moments - the usually intelligent Cosima leaving the woman she knows to be her handler alone in her bedroom where she keeps all of her documentation of the clones...really?

With that said, the positives far outweigh the negatives of the show, and I'm super excited for the next season!

Started watching Orphan Black. Tatiania is beautiful and she makes my head spin. And then Cosima appeared. Jizz in my pants.

Now Sarah impersonates Beth. I hope they will make it confusing when they let Alison for example impersonate Sarah etcetera. Just to mess with the viewer.

You have no idea how deep this rabbit hole goes.

This is exactly makes Tatiana so impressive in these roles...When a character is impersonating one of the other clones, it's not confusing at all. She's managed to give each character their own personalities and so when they are pretending to be another person, they maintain their idiosyncrasies so that it never becomes confusing. It's actually quite impressive...

You are clearly early on though so I won't spoil it for you but this particular skill is what separates her from other nominees as far as I'm concerned.

This made me think something about the rest of the season (don't read if you don't want to be spoiled):
It's interesting that IIRC the show has only pulled the "clone impersonating another clone unbeknownst to the audience" twist just once, with Helena playing Sarah to the birth mother so she could kill her. And they played it well (maybe too well) since it was pretty shocking. It can be fun to do that, but it'll be interesting to see if they do that trick more next season since it could very easily unravel the viewer's trust in the show and turn the show into a 24-esque Mobius Strip too obsessed with its own cleverness.

- TVLine: Exclusive: Orphan Black Cast Heading to Comic- Con — Find Out Where They'll Be and When
Comic-Con is sending in the clones.

The cast of BBC America’s Orphan Black — including Critics Choice Award champ Tatiana Maslany — will be making their way to San Diego to participate in their first-ever Comic-Con panel, TVLine has learned exclusively.

On Friday, July 19 at 7 pm, Maslany will invade Room 7AB alongside co-stars Jordan Gavaris and Dylan Bruce as well as Orphan Black co-creators Graeme Manson and John Fawcett for an hour-long discussion/Q&A about the thriller’s smash first season and (fingers crossed) an early preview of Season 2. (The show doesn’t resume production for a few months, but Manson and Fawcett will hopefully drop a few pieces of intel.)

Additionally, the quintet will be on hand for an autograph signing on Saturday, July 20 at 4:30 pm at the BBC America booth.

Again, another OB moment where I was wondering "why is the cast at SDCC going to just be three people?" and then yeah ... I just got Tatiana Maslany'd.

- CBC's Q Radio show/podcast: Tatiana Maslany talks Orphan Black
On today's show, Jian speaks to Regina-born actress Tatiana Maslany, who took home the trophy for Best Actress in a Drama at the Critic's Choice Awards last month for her role(s) in the clone thriller Orphan Black. In the quirky sci-fi TV series, she plays a street-smart British orphan who realizes she has numerous identical versions of herself -- subjects of a top-secret, illegal medical experiment.
