Orphan Black - Season 2 - Starring Tatiana Maslany as everyone - Sat on BBC America

I still really like the show, but the plot has been a huge mess this season. Instead of ramping things up, I wish they would scale back a bit.

I feel like the problem is that they've mostly had all the clones deal mainly with their own subplots that branch off of the main plot, when its always more interesting when they have more common goals and close interaction.

Can someone explain to me why she was so allegedly unconvincing? I'm guessing there's some bias here, knowing Tony was played by Tatiana made people not just go along with the ride but overanalyze everything in an attempt to say "aha!". Just a guess...
The facial hair was fine, but not actually having a masculine-reading haircut on Tony was a bizarre decision. It was just a super-messy version of Sarah's hair.

Seriously? I see tons of guys with hair like that at metal concerts all the time... :p
Had they actually figured Tony's character out, that might have worked. Everyone else's appearance so far has been well-tied into their persona. Because Tony really didn't have one beyond the transgender angle, the depth you needed for it to not just be "the gimmick clone" wasn't there. Which was a shame.

I thought this scene was really important. First of all, proclone Rachel, who is so elite, puts herself on the same level as the other clones. But what really got me was the subtle nod in the fourth gif, so easy to oversee. Once again, this ties nicely into the theme of control over their bodies. Rachel knows she can get sick as well, which means losing control over her body (once again), but she acknowledges, probably more to herself than to Delphine, that there is a possible cure, which would give her back her control. Have I mentioned that I love Tatiana’s subtle acting as Rachel? That’s part of what makes her (Rachel) so interesting to me.

I agree with this completely.

I think Tatiana's acting shines best as Rachel. Subtle but very telling.

Another example was her attempt to not get emotional when Ethan Duncan asked her whether she remembers him reading her a book when she was little. I loved that moment.

Rachel is quickly climbing on the clonescale. She used to believe that she was the superior clone due to her own awareness and her position at the DIAD, but now that she has learned that she's barren by design (and thus no different from the rest of the clones, barring Anomalous Sarah) her world view and/or attitude may change quite a bit.

I can't wait until she's forced to cooperate with the rest of the girls, for whatever reason.

It would be interesting to see the dynamics between her and Alison, for example, or Rachel and Sarah (even though we've already seen that).

Also, clone count so far:

L-R (top) Sarah Manning, Beth Childs, Cosima Niehaus, Alison Hendrix, Rachel Duncan, Tony Sawicki, (bottom) Helena, Jennifer Fitzsimmons, Katja Obinger, Aryanna Giordano, Danielle Fornier, Janika Zingler

12 all in all. How many more "little girls" are there?

The lady in the bottom-left is objectively the best seestra.

Thanks for sharing! Good question... Possibly dozens, maybe even hundreds, given that they've been spotted (or placed) in various European countries.

The problem I've had with the last few episodes is that even though we have the guy who basically ran the experiment on the show now, have we gotten any answers as to why they did it? What they were trying to accomplish? Did I miss that information? Seems like in the last two eps the show has gotten a little muddy and bogged down. At least with Helena/the Promethians there's a clear thrust to the story.

Since the clones are all good at what they do, my guess would be they try to make humans who are by default good for specific jobs. Like super intelligent worker drones.

Well, I just learned someone I'm uhh "internet acquaintances" with was an extra in the first season in the Neolutionist club. I thought it looked like some caps the posted a few months ago but it didn't fully register.

Binged this show over the weekend and just watched the latest episode. It feels like it gets off track sometimes, but I still think that it's pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Tatiana is great and Helena is probably my favorite clone, but much like most of you I didn't care for the Tony character at all. I kind of wish that I would have waited until this season was finished before watching it though, because god damn I want more. Now.

Suffer with us.

I caught up until early this season. I dread the wait after the finale.

Cosima and Rachel are Tatianna's two most convincing clone portrayals to me. Especially Cosima, where I will sometimes forget I'm even looking at Tatiana Maslany, the way she expresses as Cosima is so consistent and different from the other clones.

She's been doing overtime with Allison this season, too. Really, Tatiana's portrayal of all the main clones is really flawless at this point.

Cosima is incredible because she is by far the feistiest and bubbliest of all. Unlike the rest of the clones, she shows a lot of teeth when she laughs (which is often) and has crazy jazz hands. She just oozes character.

Alison is also amazing and I only rank it behind Cos because she's obviously played for laughs, even if darkly so.

Meanwhile, Rachel's rage and totally unexpected humanization propelled her from the bottom of the barrel to the top three. The last couple of episodes have been monumental for her.

Yes, it's great to see Cosima finally being accepted as the best clone!

I seem to remember a certain previous thread where Alison was the winner lol.

Agreed that with Cosima I forget it's the same person. Like it completely doesn't register with me that the same actress makes out with both Delphine and Big Dick Paul on the show.

The show's "board game advisor" wrote a post on BoardGameGeek about why they picked Runewars for the scene this episode, how filming worked out, and some feelings about board games showing up more in TV. Thought it was a nice little read. As a board gamer I really enjoyed Runewars popping up and being shown in such a positive light (even if it was a little out of place with the overall tone of the episode).

Hi guys, what episode is being aired in the US tonight? The last one I saw was E07
with the Leekie scene
, I'm wondering how far behind I am.

New episode tonight:
Things Which Have Never Yet Been Done

Cosima takes a bad turn; Sarah takes action with tragic consequences; the Proletheans set their plan in motion; Alison and Donnie have a run-in with the law.

I like how this show reinforces that fact that children have a choice when it comes to their body wrt Kira's bone marrow.
