Overstrike- Insomniac's New IP

That basically felt like watching a generic Hollywood blockbuster trailer. But at the same time, its got that Insomniac charm, and I'm sure the gameplay will be great.

I'm glad they didn't go for uber-bro-realism with the character style, which is definitely appealing. I already want to learn more about the protagonists and I hope they aren't just cliche-spouting action movie morons. I don't dig the self-aware over the top style of humor a la Bulletstorm. At first it may seem charming, but after a couple hours it gets really grating.

Neither Ratchet nor Resistance won me over immediately, but they are now two of my favorite franchises and I expect nothing less from this. Dying to see some gameplay!

ratchet & clank isn't for grownups?! :) the ratchet & clank scripts are consistently some of the sharpest & wittiest of any series...
should have put "-marks around the grownups-part. Obviously R&C caters something for everyone but there artstyle is repels all the biggest dudebros

Cute CG trailer, but I hope to see some gameplay.

Boy, I see this getting completely overlooked whenever it hits though unless its during a summer drought.

Must have missed this bit: is it a tps or a fps?

Probably third person going by the acrobatics performed by the characters specialized in hand to hand combat.

I have nothing more to add.

The next Monday Night Combat in the making.

And on that note, did they ever show anything else from the game during the show? Or is this all we get for now?

This was it.
Don't know exactly when it comes out, but my guess would be next Fall.

I don't like how the dialogue implies that using the power of invisibility is somehow breaking protocol for a spy/agent because that makes no sense. Otherwise pretty amusing.

Sorry to bump, but I only just saw the trailer to this today for the first time.

Great trailer. Like others have said, very Incredibles. But I adore the Ratchet games on PS3, so I'm expecting great things. Gonna assume 3rd person as well.

The real question. Will they go over the shoulder Resi 4/Gears style? Or more like Ratchet?

Gamescom: Insomniac On Overstrike
Insomniac on Going Multiplatform and Its New Engine
Brian Allgeier: It's been a very exciting period for us. Insomniac's always been independent, but we've always stuck with the PlayStation and now it's an exciting time for us to exercise that independence. We're retooling our technology and our engine to support both platforms. I think a lot of people might make the assumption that we're developing for the PlayStation and then we'll just port it over to the Xbox, but that is not the case at all. We're developing one experience that can be ported to both platforms, and it will be the same experience.

It's our own proprietary engine that we started developing three years ago. It's all built from the ground up, and certainly we have a lot of the same experts who developed our previous engine that are applying a lot of the same components and concepts in terms of developing it, but it's pretty much brand new.

What players saw in the trailer is what our target has always been, so that's what we're planning on hitting.

I have a feeling it will be over the shoulder. They kinda had some of that in the Ratchet PS3 games, so it wouldn't surprise me if they went all out with it this time.
