I'm beginning to hate Junkrat players as a support player. His grenade projectiles are so damn annoying, even if you got a upper hand on a junkrat he will just mine jump away.

Pancakes

hot, steaming, as melted butter slips into the cracks, drizzled with sticky sweet syrup OH GOD
Move one pixel as Mercy and death counter goes down. Panic rez after not getting back to that sweet spot, then see death counter x1. Urgh.

We all know that feeling.

I love that people think that McCree is bad. It just means my Pharah can fly friendlier skies.

The people that think McCree is bad now are probably not the people that were giving you a hard time as Pharah.

So my brief time with PC version of Overwatch tells me that the PS4 and PC communities are really no different. I pushed the cart like two points by myself (for some reason the enemy team let me do this) until we got stuck in the little maze on Gibraltar because of a torbjorn turret (!) and nobody switched to take care of it (despite me asking nicely) until the game was at like 15 seconds left, which is obviously too late. I was playing Reinhardt so switching wasn't much of an option. We had a D.Va and then suddenly... we didn't have a D.Va so idk

i aint even mad, very interesting research so far

That probably has more to do with having a different mmr on computer than being indicative of the difference between the two communities.

its so fun being low level again, the game is struggling to put me in a good matchmaking bracket. i already know what the heroes do so like half of these games is just me stomping

Attack Widowmakers on Hanamura need to stop. You really have to get on the ground and pressure on that map because of how short the walk is from their spawn, not sit far away and suck at sniping.

I got the worst POTG I've ever seen.

Literally 1 elimination and like 2 fire points.

I got a 4x elimination potg with Junkrat, but one was 40%, and the rest were sub 10% eliminations. I don't see how I got it considering I just tickle killed people with random grenade lobbing...but a Reinhardt got a charge kill + a 2x ult combo that looked WAY cooler didn't. I think the Potg system needs a few tweaks.

Edit:I'm also shocked how much I'm loving this game. I didn't have much fun with the beta, but this is a whole different experience fun wise. I'm also shocked that I love playing as Roadhog. There's nothing more satisfying than grapple hooking a bad Tracer or Lucio and swatting them down like flies.

Good Tracers not so much. They were givin me fits yesterday.

attacking widows on both points are the best way to deal with defending widows and turrets. if you suck or your team doesn't push when you make space for them that's a different thing.

Ok, just got to level 55, but I still have no idea how to effectively play Zarya. Do I simply lob grenades at the enemy until low health and then follow through with the energy beam as they try to escape? People keep telling me to push as Zarya, but I seem to get wrecked more often than not even with the charged beams and nades. I mean, the deflection bubble is good at blocking damage, but when that is gone I'm not seeing much of a benefit here with the "extra" damage is gives you. Guess I need to mention I'm a ps4 player here.

hmm. Have to be honest. I've quit a couple of games now due to frustration. Completely shite team mates usually. It stresses me out that we are defending point B in Hanamura and 3 of my team go wandering off into point A and beyond to simply engage with an enemy. Really annoying.

The secret to hanamura attack is double tank Reindhart + Roadhog or Dva to make it through the small door to the right and attack the flank. I hace won my last 2 matches like this in less of 3 minutes. Symmetra hard counters this but people dont notice.

i've found she's best when there's another tank around to go aggro and take damage. the beam is more consistent damage at close range, otherwise just spam right click.

keep in mind that the shields block debuffs like freeze, flashbang, hook, rein ult, etc so if you're playing against that stuff keep an eye out to save teammates.

she's also a good pick into heavy spammers like pharah and junkrat, if you see them shooting at a choke just shield up and jump in for a second.

Even at full energy you can't blindly charge into the entire opposing team, lol. Try and rotate your barriers so that you always have one up soon to keep your energy up. Use the launcher when people are grouped up, the beam when you find someone by themselves. If you start getting low, duck out for a second and recharge your shields.

Once you get rolling, the enemy team will basically be afraid to engage you, and start running away. You need an aggressive team though, people who get a barrier applied and then run to cover make it hard to play Zarya effectively in my experience. If you have a healer though, it's extremely hard to die once you're fully charged.

Gonna just put this out there. Just because I'm in party chat and I don't have a mic doesn't mean you have free reign to have some weirdo opinions about me. I think I've played with a few Gaffers where their friends had to chime in about me for no particular reason just cuz I'm not saying anything. It's annoying and kinda turns me off when playing in some groups. Gonna just leave future sessions cuz I'd rather play with randoms than listen to this.

Some teams just get WAAAAY too aggressive and push up ridiculously far right up in people's spawn doors. I always hate seeing that on my own team, there's really no reason to go beyond the big door on Hanamura, it'll just get someone picked off and during a push you're already down a person.

I do love doing this on Volskaya A as Genji or something, go around the left side right onto the point and pull everyone back. I still barely see anyone actually cover that part.

Yup, people do this constantly. If someone on your team just blitzes by with Tracer or Genji it should be an automatic win because then the entire enemy team has to turn and retreat to push you off. The rest of your team should be able to kill the scattered and retreating enemy and join you at the point, but no, the entire enemy team comes to kill you then you watch your teammates just strafing back and forth at the chokepoint, firing at nothing.

Bubble. Bubble all day every day. Any time you see a teammate take damage bubble them. Bubble yourself if you're taking damage or if you wanna charge a turret.
It not only absorbs damage but charges up your gun. Your charged gun stays charged even after your bubble goes away.

A fully charged gun is strong enough to take out most offense heroes in one or two ranged shots. Charging the gun not only increases damage but also widens the area of effect.

Also, Zarya has 400hp which is nice. What is even better is that she regens 200 hp with low delay.

Basically try to push with one teammate around you. Bubble yourself and them when taking damage. Use the secondary shot for longer ranges/fast movers/multiple enemies. Use the laser for one-on-one close range. Once your health is low, fall back to recover and restart.

Sounds good guys.
I think I will want Mercy as my main, I really like playing as a healer/buffer .
I am PC/Europe btw.
If you want to join up, feel free to add me and others from the document in the OP. I'm toppform#2960 and also on EU.

The system doesn't matter and the in game level of the player doesn't matter; there are just a lot of idiots playing. And when you say something after the game about people on your teams type "salt, salt, salt, nothing but salt," or something similar having to do with being salty. I'm salty because I attempt to play the game properly and expect the rest of the game to do this also.
Most post game comments I see are of the likes of "shit team fuck you losers" or other insults and I'm happy to call those sour. If someone is talking about our team comp being bad then that's fair enough and even great for improving, but that's rare. Either way, I don't expect the player bases to be very different from PC and console, it's all a misch masch of bad players, angry players and good players who go unnoticed.

I did run a great game today where people actually communicated, suggested comp improvements and thanked each other after pulling off ult combos. It was pretty great! We lost the match, but it was a lot of fun.

You definitely need a Widowmaker to snipe turrets, Bastion and defending snipers. Just hope you have a good one your side.

Also, LOL @ the salt in this thread. Even a bigger LOL at people trying to make excuses for themselves because they "play the objective". You win some and you lose some.

Ok, so from what you guys are saying Zarya is more of a "denied" character role who attacks from the side. Like if someone is using their abilities on you or another teammie, you just barrier them and build up damage charge while punishing anyone who get in your face? You are a tank, but you aren't necessarily the main focus as the others are, BUT if they do focus on you, you simply punish them ala the damage charge? A persistent tanky nuisance?

Almost always worth rushing point B if you can get your team to do it, right after take point A. It's one of the times you're most likely not to run into a fixed defense.

So i was browsing the reddit, and I came across a post regarding the loot boxes and how they work. Basically, its talking about how as soon as you earn the box, the prizes are already determined (even before you open it).

However, I think alot of us have been wondering if future cosmetics will be unlockable through loot boxes or if they will be for real money only. This doesnt necessarily confirm it or anything, but here is Kaplan's quote:

Loot boxes items are "rolled" at the moment you earn the box. Whether you open it today or 3 years from now, those boxes contain the same items. So if we add new stuff to the ecosystem, you will only see it out of brand new boxes earned after the release of that new item.

So, does this kind of confirm that future cosmetics will be potentially earned through loot boxes without having to pay for them? If so, wow. Bravo Blizzard. This is amazing.

Having said that, I will def be buying skins when available, but if we can earn any of them through loot boxes, that is so freaking cool.

yes. you are not as durable as reinhardt or roadhog so you can't be up front at all times. dance in and out of combat, play around your cooldowns, jump into incoming damage when you have self shield up, and save teammates when they're getting ganked.

also your ult is the best setup in the game if you can land it. communicate when it's up and make sure everyone else is ready to go, especially if you have ults like hanzo or pharah.

Their business model is to get people to buy loot boxes. I only see that ever changing if that model fails them. I doubt that will happen anytime soon. They just need to keep pumping out available skins and what not to keep people wanting what they can potentially get out of a random loot box.

Shit like that is why Lucio is the support class for me. Wall jumping and speed bursts makes him a tough target for people like Junkrat and Pharah.

I played some on my alt PS acct and felt bad for the first few levels, got potg several times. But good to see the playerbase growing and getting better.

At least yours had the illusion that it was cool. Mine was literally shutting down a single Soldier after a D.va did most of the work with Genji's L1 then proceeding to emote because we won lol

lol, no.

He is still one of the best character to have on your team if the person who plays him are somewhat good at aiming. It's just that he can't kill tanks without trying anymore. Anyone who played him using only his right click and think he is bad now played him wrong.

Got a friend request and a salty player harassing me in a queue for my McCree play, he sure shut up when I got put on his team, went dead quiet.

Cool, will give Zarya another go, thanks.

So has anyone else run into people playing as Lucio on Ilios wall riding on the inside of the well? lol saw one guy do it nearly half the game

I saw a Lucio player do that altho he knew how to get out and go back in making him hard to kill.

It's pretty pointless IMO. Your team is out of your LOS so no healing. Being in the well doesn't count as contesting. We've won games while an opposing Lucio was just skating around inside the well.

You only turn into a main focus tank with a good Mercy. I had a match where their entire team could not take me down and the blew most of their payload escort on trying to kill me and mercy. While my team would come in a clean up the scraps.

So leaving the game only gives you a leave penatlty? or does it give you a loss as well? idk why people just up and close to the end. ruins the dynamic of the team

I've been trying to learn Genji on PS4 and man he is hard to play on consoles. You need fast sensitivity to make the most of his movement but that means you won't be hitting headshots with shurikens as easily. I guess this is why I haven't seen even one great genji on PS4 yet.

No loss.

Leaving doesnt count as a loss, so you can expect W/L whores to quit when they think the match is lost.

Bug or working as intended, I don't know.

Quitters will be quitters. A loss means nothing for this game especially in Quick Play. It's just as useless as K/D.

Awesome.

This is making me think I don't melee enough. Is it worth it if you won't kill them with it and you still have ammo for another shuriken throw though?

i haven't quite mastered it yet but it feels like its a way to add DPS to your target assuming you are close to them, because you can basically use right click and melee at the exact same time to increase your damage output

so if you are in melee range and in a fight it definitely makes sense to stab them a bit while you toss shurikens
