Wow, Soldier on console finally clicked with me. He's just a good all-around pick once you learn to keep your distance and time your engagements around the helix rockets. He's just so good at wiping out/scaring annoying players.

Last night was solo queuing, got into defend on Kings Row. We had: torb, symm, hanzo, widow, mercy and I went roadhog, FML.
Attacking team had zarya, genji, hanzo, Lucio, zen and reaper.
Our widow decides top of the bus is a good spot, she gets shredded instantly. I'm the only one on the point and I get shredded next. Before I can respawn we've already lost the obj. All I can do is rage quit.

I had multiple matches today with someone on our attacking team pick Torb... Is there a new meta I'm not aware of?

I had this happen earlier but it was the enemy team who had one. He did absolutely nothing the entire game and refused to switch even though his teammates were practically begging him to. It was a pretty easy win at least, they didn't even cap the first point.

*Solider-76 follows my Reinhardt and uses his ult*

I am there alone fighting five heroes alone. The rest of my team? Dying at choke point to McCree and Torbpenis. And no they were level 40-70. I got silver medal with Winston/Reinhardt too. I hate solo que; I hate people in general.

Same experience here. It was strange since I never saw it happen before today with this frequency. Generally I only see Torbjorn on attack when you have to escort the payload. With a Reinhardt protecting the turret, it can be annoying.

What is this new fascination to peel off the objective or entrenched area as a Defend team and chase 1 single char

I swear to god a Zarya, Widow, Mercy, and Symm chase a Lucio who somehow got through and was inside the room to the left right by the stairs

I can't keep the rest of the team with Mei @bay with my Reaper

By the time they killed Lucio on job well done enemy team had the objective @50%, by the time they made it back @90% contested

So fucking annoying

what are you playing on? PC or PS4?

I need computer friends man.

It's the same on PC man. The worst are those rounds where you're like "man I'm not playing well at all right now", then you look at the scoreboard and you have gold for eliminations, damage done and objective time and it's like "what the fuck are my team actually doing?".

I'm on PC, ViewtifulJC #1273. PLS get out me if you're even halfway decent.

Like I would be ok if we were losing to great teams, well coordinated, had their shots down. But like...it would be total randoms with no team

I love how no one looks at the kill feed either. I was on the final push of King's Row as Reinhardt, my friend was Mercy and on me. I pinned a soldier that ulted, hammer down'd a mei and lucio and killed them both, then firestriked a reaper and swung to kill him. They had a bastion plop out of spawn I didn't see and mow me and my friend down, but they were still down 4 people and it was inches from the finish.

My entire team broke away from us before I charged and were all on a fuckin' Genji that backed up near spawn door, and by the time they moved up the entire defense spawned in again and we ended up losing. 4 golds(seriously gold damage wtf) and my friend had the healing one. Guys PLS.

like bruh I just dont get some of the plays people do in this game. It really does come to 1-2 people. Like right now we got 1-2 more good people to slide into the team and now we're like a well-oiled machine, we win 8 out of 10 rounds now instead of just losing constantly. And when we lose, its to really good teams.

I got no problems losing to good teams as long as well all make a solid effort. The sheer incompetence of 1-2 people can kill any chance of winning.

Soldier is great, no doubt about it. Very easy to play, self-healing, good damage at mid-range, rockets are amazing (you can dispatch Bastion and Turrets very quickly with them). Just have to be careful avoiding tight spaces if the rockets aren't available.

Lol had the exact same experience today. I even managed to kill 3 enemies and a turret going alone from the left side after tons of messages, but when I died, there was no one from my team to be found, they were still at the entrance just shooting...

It really sucks when you have a shitty team when playing Reinhardt. Thankfully that's not that much frequent.

I just met a double Mercy team. Those freaking revives were endless.

If there aren't turrets around, you just need to pick a Genji/Tracer and focus primarily on Mercy. Having two just means that there are at max 4 enemies with offensive capacity.

Had a few good games last night. I decided to try to force myself to play some Mercy to see how it would work out. I actually did okay I think. It was easy to get the hang of switching between damage amp and healing, revive makes perfect sense, but I still need to get used to how her flight works. It sucks when I forget I have that ability and actually try to run to someone to needs healing instead of just using the fly button when they're within sight. >_<

One thing I've noticed is that there's a HUGE difference between a team that's aware of their Mercy and one which takes her for granted. When an enemy targets me and everyone lets him through and I die, it kills momentum. But if I'm supporting a teammate and someone comes at me from behind but suddenly I notice other teammates backing me up immediately and the enemy gets taken out as I keep them healed, it feels super good!

The saddest thing about playing a full support character like Mercy is that you get to see how dumb some players really are. Like on Defense maps where half the team has set up a good ambush, but one player just HAS to run out solo and do... I don't know what... and I can't move to heal him because it would be stupid, and he doesn't seem to have a plan, so it's like 6v5. Lol.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
I would like more voice commands, like Attack Now!, or Fall Back!, stuff like that.

I'd like to customize my chatwheel with lines like "I immediately regret my decision", "Space Created" and "New Meta!"

We smashed that double Mercy team. They would have given us serious trouble if they had Reinhardt instead of Roadhog (they switched too late).

The thing about Mercy is, if your team has good positioning, awareness and team composition, you will do well--she shines with certain teams and proper teamwork. Lucio is a general healer/buffer with balanced attack capabilities (Mercy can be aggressive behind a Reinhardt though), which is why Lucio is the go-to healer in solo que. In most pro matches I've seen, they go Lucio+Mercy; they don't only pick one tank and one healer so that the other stupid randoms in pubs enjoy playing their waifu heroes e.g Hanzo, Torbjorn and Bastion.

The funniest thing I've seen is players ignoring Mercy on the other team or idiotic random teams who are not aware of their surroundings where any flanker (tracer, Reaper and Genji) sneak in and take their Mercy. They are like "fuck that boring support hoe that doesn't get PoTG MLG ult".

Yep, played a Mercy game a while back where I followed the team's Reaper and Soldier: 76 down the lower passages, thinking, "Oh, they've got some cunning flanking plan in mind! Better be there to help them out." Nope, they just screwed around taking shots at the enemy team from a side passage, most of my damage-boosted shots flying off to horribly massacre some innocent walls. There's nothing sadder than watching a Reaper take shots at somebody from 100 feet away, like they don't even know they might as well be lobbing spitballs at that range.

I used to be pissed when I picked support and the team ended up doing terribly, because I usually know what would be a good counterpick but don't want to switch off healing. Now? If it gets to that point, I know my one counterpick probably won't make a bit of difference, so might as well do my best to stop the bleeding as my team charges off into defeat.

If you were on my team just now and you are reading this, you suck. Especially if you're the guy who picked Bastion on attack and refused to change no matter how hard we were getting stonewalled.

Had some amazing matches tonight. People were talkative and friendly -- what a surprise to see both!

I've already added myself to the OW NeoGaf list. =)

You'll get the hang of it, eventually! By the way, trying to heal a wounded teammate when all your teammates are on the same spot can get annoying -- so try to avoid those situations at all costs.

I only played her for a bit, but this is so true lol. Made me remember this post from the fan art thread.

For situations like that, is there a way to tab between teammates with Mercy's targeting without just aiming?

Not that I'm aware of, unfortunately. However, I have a recommendation for you: Go to options and then controls; select Mercy in the dropdown menu and look for Toggle Beam Connection (turn it on) and Guardian Angel prefers beam target (turn it off). It will make your life easier!

A Reaper on my team got a Team Kill last night without even using Death Blossom. Both teams gave him a sound round of golf claps after the match.

What does Toggle Beam Connection do?

*Is playing Reinhardt*
When trying to push up to the point 2 of my teammates ran in front of my fucking shield when the Junkrat was spamming grenades and got instantly destroyed. Playing Reinhardt or a healing class feels pointless 99% of the time when you have teammates doing shit like that. They're gonna die anyway so might as well play a damage dealing class.

Clearly you just needed to forget the shield, juke the grenades, hammer the fuck out of junkrat. That's how I play Reinhardt in pubs anyways, people never see it coming and it works better than you'd think.

Nothing better than a Reinhardt PotG thats just you swinging a hammer non stop getting kill after kill.

I have picked Bastion a few times on offense, and made him work.

It really depends if you have a reinhardt, and it also really depends if the enemy team is bad enough to not know how to flank or have a pharah blast the two apart for people to tear into the bastion.

Yeah, I agree, you can set up behind a pushing shield and destroy anything opposing you, especially another reinhard shield. Then you position yourself in middle of the respawning enemy and your team caps or such. If it doesnt work, I just repick.

The difference between you and 99% of people I get teamed with.
