It's really hard playing Zenyatta solo. He really requires team mates to pay attention especially for his ult to be of any use. And man is it hard to aim his shots on PS4.

Oh yeah you do have to lead your shots a bit. On the other hand his hitboxes are nearly as hilarious as hanzo's.

If you have a rein you're generally good as far as teamwork goes. Might want someone to look for your flank too because genjis and tracers will just erase you.

Why is Numbani so shit for attackers. Who the fuck thought it made sense to have the attackers have to run farther to get to point A, than the freaking defenders

It's kind of impressive how terrible this community is.

I still don't see that except for the usual player that thinks that he can talk shit (which is rare in my case). Is that MMR or server related? European, 61% winrate and over 350 matches played and also level 51.

There was never a time in this game where I went "fuck him and him" like in games ala Dota 2, Counterstrike or my favourite League of Legends (which I don't like to play anymore because of that).

Wouldn't surprise me if people talked more shit on other servers.

Also always remember this if you are playing with randoms:

I have grouped with a few fellows from the UK who were downright shocked that there was so much trash talk going on. It honestly wasn't that much, but it made me realize that people on American servers are pretty big assholes.

I am getting +200ms ping when I log into the EU server. Something is wrong.

I don't usually see it, though possibly because I block a lot of people.

Have you played League or DOTA2? I had worse experiences there. Weirdly, CSGO wasn't too bad besides the occasional griefers and hackers.

I just met a hacker in CS:GO. It was ridiculous and everyone reported his ass. CS:GO has a very shitty community overall; you probably haven't stumbled on one of those shitty servers. I remember my first match in CS:GO. We had a degenerate who started shit-talking me and went AFK in our team, and then when we were pushing and trying hard, I cracked up and a mistake; it was a great round for me except the ending. We were unable to take a single round, and then the enemy team started saying shit and calling us noobs (great vocabulary). It was literally my first CS:GO ranked match.

Dota2 is poop. I was invited to play by a friend--a Brazillian one. Then I vaguely remember that one of the BRs in the game started going apeshit for some reason.

I will never touch LoL.

Numbani is one of the easiest points to capture for attackers. The spawn points is a compromise. Numbani is easy to capture, therefor defenders spawn closer. There are so many ways to approach that point.

Also the long walk for attackers is actually a bonus for attacking sides because people think there's enough space to play tdm and this the defending team usually dies leaving 1 or 2 people trying to hold the actual point.

My thoughts exactly. I don't think I've seen any toxicity that was worse than people calling someone useless for being useless. Usually because they refuse to care about team comp and pick that second Hanzo for the team. Maybe it really is worse in US servers, but in EU I have not seen any actual abuse or name calling outside of "noobs" and "gg lol ez". I mean I'm told to get cancer on the regular when I play ranked Rocket League, and that's one of the milder communities.

For me, Numbani is the escort map where the attacker fails to get the first checkpoint probably more often than the other escort maps combined.

I just love when my ult gets blocked by Mei's ice wall, especially when they're on my own team.

Wow, almost like it's on purpose =/

Friendly cockblockers aside, one thing I would say is, make sure you reload before dropping Zarya's ult. It's good to co-ordinate with another team mate's ult, but you want to be dumping the most damage into that surge, ideally with alt fire, your personal barrier up, and at least 40% charge).

Before I played with a Mei on my team who kept intentionally blocking me with ice walls on runs back to the point after respawning. Most annoying shit ever.

Also remember that the graviton surge is an actual projectile that needs contact to activate and don't throw it directly into a hole hoping to do that cute little trick.

Playing Zenyatta is heavily dependent on your team's setup and if they actually ask for heals and pay attention to your position.

Like he was great for me in Hanamura's defense at point B. I was able to stand back and discord/harmony around the whole room while still getting like 90+ damage on the enemy Winston and have teammates that peaked around the corners for a heal. Anytime the enemy pushed, Transcendence was ready and there goes the enemy's effort.

There are so many times that I wouldn't touch him though especially with bad tanks on Payload defense or KOTH. I might as well just Lucio then, so I'm not surprised that Zenyatta is out of the picture in competitive.

Also lack of 2cp seems to be why zarya is so niche.

Also it seems like mccreee fell off because the you need to have a constant skill level that isn't worth it or practical.

At the start of an attacking payload game, talk to your team. If they talk back and like the idea, play Zenyatta and it's super fun. If no one replies pick something else!

Really ? I feel like she's in a very good spot right now despite it, being in the "core" hero group and a Top Tiers asset in offense and KotH.

But only to break the first point of payload maps according to the article right?

Most times it seems like roadhog + reinhardt is the preferred tank duo.

Yeah, but in all KotH maps, she is replacing Reinhardt as the Go to Tank alongside Winston.

Unless you want Zarya dominating EVERYWHERE, but I can respect that :p

I'm a greedy man. :p

Yeah i never knew the point of rein in koth. It's too open for his barrier really, close quarter damage is great but i feel like people can just pick him off mid range.

Still, even if mccree gets less play due to the increased skill ceiling I'm still glad for his nerf just due to it increasing the viable tank pool.

Article also echoes my sentiment in why i think that while Winston is still fun he's just not as fun as the other tank heroes to play as. He just feels... shallow for how effective he can be.

I am seriously disappointed that console versions are getting a nerf while pc stays the same.

Blizzard is pretty much telling me my version of the game is useless as its not the same game everyone else is playing.

why even release it on consoles if the pc version is the only one that matters?

The thing is it's not broken on PC. They genuinely are different games. You can't balance something for console and PC at the same time.

When One more game still become more games lol. At least last game befofe bed last night we won.
First game yesterday was a hard curb stomp of a loss.

Last night I was playing as Mercy heard "It's high noon" turn and see MCcree across a courtyard and knew I was doomed. Then poof. Red ice wall right in front of me. Ran away laughing. It was just like that comic with Mei saying "I'm helping."

I mean I do actually block enemy mccree and soldier ults pretty often.

Man I remember this match.

Actually got an epic for damage blocked for mei card.

But do you actually block your own teammates super like what happened for him lol

Nah, just a whole bunch of bastions, turrets, and justice rains. :p

Which also brings up my biggest issue with bastion players in that you have 300 hp, you have a more than decent gun in recon mode, now can you get off your arse and contest the point when we actually need it?

I mean, a lot of meis are bad, I get it, or actually are trolls, and in both cases they're a detriment to the team. I don't think I've personally met much of them. Trolls aside though, I think the game needs a big tool tip saying "YOU CAN DESTROY ICE WALL BY PRESSING THE BUTTON AGAIN" which probably alleviates most issues people have with the bad meis on their team.

For the people salty playing against her though, you're what fuels me.

I mean that's what I've done in the case of everyone I've bought highlights for.

Although as soon as I got one for Symmetra I went from 'POTG every match' to 'never again'.

Meanwhile Zenyatta has the best highlight intros but getting a POTG on him is so rare that I haven't bought any. Also whenever I get one I feel obligated to save it.

edit: oh there's been Zenyatta discussion. I don't think I'll be playing him in competitive unless we are in a VERY specific situation - if we already have a healer and Reinhardt and are fighting like double Roadhog or something. But I do fine with him with randoms even as a solo healer. And yes, the match I linked above I only got 'transcendence healing' even though I had 0 deaths and tons of kills that round while permanently 'on fire'...

Antiwhippy

I get zen PotG fairly often. With his potential for high DPS it's fairly common to rack up high damage kill streaks with him.

"symmetra on attack aer you retraedd????

are you retraded??

shanaban????"

And then when they all die stupidly on the same spot my tp gets everyone back and we win and I get potg because I killed 4 guys by myself

Hilarious

I think friendly Meis don't even realize how often their walls are problematic. It's not just blocking ultimates, it's shutting down sight lines for long-range characters (or just people who want to see what's coming) over and over. Just the worst.

Meanwhile, I can count the times a wall has actually saved my life on both hands.

That's why you don't block everyone though. You block off 2-3 players on the opposite team to make it a 6 v 2-3 contest or cut off their healers.

Mei player. You learn when to put up a wall in front and then you out one right behind the enemy so they can't move back. Walls are good to divide their team up so your team can take out the front and when the wall drops then hopefully you have enough time to go all out on the rest.
What am I saying. I put up a wall to save myself lol
Also I'm good to taking out tracers with mei. Only because the speed of the icicle is pretty fast

When I play Mei I'm very careful about where I place my walls exactly for this reason. I'm probably too careful honestly, but I've been hampered by bad ice walls so many times that I don't want to cause the same problems for my teammates. I'll just close off choke points and block LoS on turrets mostly.

Highlights are top priority for me. I get POTG very, very, very, very often so all my mains are pimped with my favourite highlight intro. I only need one for Soldier and one for Winston and I'm all set. Luckily (or sadly?) I rarely get POTG with Winston, even though I'm really good with him.

I value highlight intros more than legendary costumes, actually.
