Was on Overwatch PTR 6v6 arcade, everyone's Sombra (naturally). Guy says at end "don't play Sombra if you don't know how to, morons". It's like, wait what? xD

GUYsss I finally made it into Platinum! (2670. Got a few good games with good teams, some of them weren't even a contest. Even got a couple of good Symmetry matches in as well.
Thing with Symmetry is, sometimes your tactic works fantastic. Then you repeat the same tactic with a different team and it just doesn't work. If the enemy has the time to seek out your turrets it won't work, but if the enemy is always on the 'enemy line' and the enemy is harassed by both characters and turrets and they don't know what to do, it works fantastic.

I actually equipped Bastion's Halloween voice line specifically for this mode, as like you've said, it's like a horror movie.
The match didn't get as far as Bastion thankfully, I won 5-3.
It's all those Sombra's of Russia casting votes for...
It's mostly random with some weighting going on. E.g. you are more likely to get Rein than Symmetra.

Mercy can't fly
Lucio looses his sound barrier, can't switch songs
It doesn't seem like Zen loses his shields to hack, though. But her weapon hits him very nicely.

I love Winston.
Used him on Defence Anubis and we just dominated.

PTR or live? Live should still be using hidden MMR. On PTR maybe not enough players to balance correctly

I sort of wish they would lock in the one hero limit for random select. Had a last dash on Ilios with 3 widowmakers, a hanzo, and an ana. That's just mean.

Winston can be a pain for all flankers.
Depends on the character. Tracers are fucking intense, but like symmetra usually turns into them meeting at a doorway, planting turrets on your side of the doorway and trying to bait the other person to fuck up and get near you or walk into an orb at point blank range.

No offence but if a Tracer is getting killed by your Winston, it's on the Tracer's skill or lack of.

I check the stream and he cloaks...gets boosted...then goes and wrecks everything.
Thats got to be scary. You hear an Ana boost but see no one with it, only to have Sombra glowing right beside you guns blazing.
Saw that, between Ana and Mercy providing damage boost, Sombra is absolutely scary.

Yeah, so far it's been Winston.
Anyone with high mobility is kind of annoying. Tracer, Genji, Pharah, unless you see them and hack them first. And anyone with range whose default weapon is their greatest strength (McCree). Getting caught by a Mei is also horrible, since you can't cloak or hack.
She's pretty good at anti-tank aside from Winston, though, honestly. You can hack through defense matrix, take away Zarya's bubbles, Rein's shield, Road's hook and heal, etc., and you have plenty of tricks to do it.

I am not interested in competitive, but I would like at least to be consistent. What do you recommend? Should I watch pro players? Read guides?

No way dude, imagine Illios Well, that health kit in that little area right next to point. Getting there first would be HUGE, and Dva could keep up with you while you sprint too it. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see pros use strats to try and get the most important medkits hacked first, especially in KOTH.
Transponder despawns, but hacks remain until time runs out on them. 1min for medpacks, 6 seconds for character hacks.

Man, I do want to get better at this game. I can have some good matches where I am doing great but in the following one I might be playing as if it were the first time touching the game. Even sometimes with the same character.
I am not interested in competitive, but I would like at least to be consistent. What do you recommend? Should I watch pro players? Read guides?
I'm by no means an expert or even that good but recently I noticed my W/L ratio when solo queuing leans more W than L now a days.
Watching videos of pros could help but really the important thing is to understand the choices they are making. There are some good guides on youtube if you want to search for specific heroes, I would recommend watching different takes on the same ones to get a well rounded perspective and see what they say in common.
What helped me a lot was understanding the character roles beyond just what their abilities do and what matchups to avoid.
I'm also very willing to switch to counter pick at any point during a match, which unfortunately not everyone is always willing to do. Like my aim is probably shit but sometimes switching to Widowmaker at the beginning of an escort map helps the initial push and then I'll switch to a role we need.
Another thing that's really hard to get people to do when soloing is get everyone to wait after respawning to push together.
I'm also usually the lone person who uses the mic but unless I'm playing with friends all I really do is call out flankers or ask people to wait to push (PC).
Of course a great way to have better matches is to play in groups and communicate. This game is ecstasy when that happens, even though we still lose sometimes.

Bought the game for PS4. Decided I might as well give it a go.
Been having a lot of fun with it against bots. But trying to get used to the various characters.
I had a quick game against people of my rank and was very enjoyable.

Imo Zarya's shield will be more popular than D.Va's defense matrix, but the fights around these packs will be intense that's for sure, can't wait for the pro matches to start with Sombra in it.Similar threads
