OXM Lionhead Interview Fable: Legends "one of the most beautiful games on Xbox One"

Lionhead's online co-op spin-off Fable Legends will have a "huge presence at E3". So sayeth John Needham, studio head and boss of Microsoft's European publishing team, who also reckons it's "one of the most beautiful games on the platform right now."

"It's a really exciting title, really fun already," Needham reflected. "It's gorgeous - we're building it with Unreal Engine 4, and that combined with the Xbox One, I think we're building one of the most beautiful games on the platform right now."

Lionhead is known to have at least one game in production that isn't Fable - Microsoft's recent trademark filing for "Eden Falls" suggests that one of the studio's older, cancelled projects has been revived. It seems possible that there's yet another Fable game on the boil, too - an Xbox One version of Fable Anniversary, or the mythical Fable 4.

"This September we're going to celebrate our ten year anniversary, with the franchise, so we'll have some more announcements around that," Needham added, mysteriously.

Also talked Some Quantum Break in the Interview.

In parting, he touched on the topic of Quantum Break, Remedy's time-bending third-person shooter. "It's a big first party title, we're not talking about it much, but it's a big exciting title - just hit full production." Among other things, the game will offer "the highest fidelity of facial motion capture that's available on the market, and is "the ultimate Remedy game". All aboard the hype-train, etc.

Don't really see how someone who is making the game saying it is "one of" theb est looking games on system that has only a handful off good looking games to begin with is news.

That said, looking forward to this. Huge Progect Ego fan, loved the first 2 Fable games, skipped the 3rd.

Quantum Break was never confirmed to be a 2014 title. I don't know why so many people were acting like it was. 2015 release date is very likely.

Can I still get married? @ Will I have an option to keep the lights on.... so I can confirm that the consummation is with whom I expect?

Probably just because it was demoed at last year's E3. There's a certain expectation you'll actually get the game in the next 1 1/2 years after seeing it on stage, and I don't think that's unreasonable. That seems to be less and less true these days though. I have a feeling there will be a lot of that at this year's E3; lots of stuff that's end of 2015 or 2016 and beyond. Kind of pointless to be showing games this early. (Beyond marketing obviously.)

Did Fable fans really want an online only co-op game? I'm seriously asking because I don't really like the series, but I know it has it's fans and the games have always been focused on single player right?

Honestly, they probably focused on the TV aspects first to have the story down pat before starting game production.

It's still my hope that the "tv" aspect of it gets canned or at least made entirely optional for appreciating the story before the game comes to market.

No it wasn't. They showed a cut scene, no one was playing the game.

Yeah, that's probably true. Still, you'd think the game would be much further along by now. What else could Remedy have been working on for the past couple of years?

Just crazy that it's only entering full production...

well shit I thought the game was coming soon since Remedy CEO said they were waiting on Microsoft to give the greenlight on the release date at SXSW.

Have they showed any in game footage yet? I honestly can't remember.

It seems like this game has been around forever and they haven't showed anything about it.

Remedy is slow, though. A delay is not something unexpected with that studio.

I had an question for him, would the gameplay be great like Fable 2 or a piece of crap like Fable 3?????
