FIFA and COD favourites to take Christmas No.1

Call of Duty: Black Ops III is currently the bookies’ favourite to be this year’s Christmas No.1.

Activision’s shooter currently has the highest odds, coming in at 6/4 from both Ladbrokes and William Hill, while Paddy Power gives Black Ops III an 11/8 chance of being the top game this Christmas.

FIFA 16 is currently the betting firms’ second favourite, with odds of 2/1, 3/1 and 6/4 from Ladbrokes, William Hill and Paddy Power, respectively.

Star Wars Battlefront and Fallout 4 are the third and fourth favourites to take the top spot this Christmas.

There are no Xbox One or Wii U exclusives among the titles tipped to top the charts, but PS4 exclusive Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection is given a 33/1 shot at Ladbrokes and 40/1 at William Hill.

LADBROKES:

Call of Duty: Black Ops III – 6/4
FIFA 16 – 2/1
Star Wars Battlefront – 3/1
Fallout 4 – 8/1
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate – 10/1

WILLIAM HILL:

Call of Duty: Black Ops III – 6/4
FIFA 16 – 3/1
Star Wars Battlefront – 7/2
Fallout 4 – 6/1
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate – 12/1

PADDY POWER:

Call of Duty: Black Ops III – 11/8
FIFA 16 – 6/4
Star Wars Battlefront – 5/2
Fallout 4 – 14/1
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate – 20/1

I wonder if by Christmas No.1 they mean Black Friday + December or just the last 2 weeks of December. I suppose it is the first option.

This will only be a contest between Fifa 16 and Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Star Wars Battlefront doesn't stand a chance even with a bump from movie release. Last year was a pretty close one between Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Fifa 15, followed by Grand Theft Auto V. It seems that Call of Duty gets bigger bumps during the busiest weeks (Black Friday, week before Christmas Eve), so I would bet all my money on Call of Duty: Black Ops III.

I would presume a 6 to 1 advantage for PS4 maybe more.

Marketshare in volume for 2014 in Sweden was 16% PS4, 5% Xbox One. Compared to overall Nordic marketshare of 17% PS4 and 3.5% Xbox One.

So Xbox One is doing better in Sweden than in other Nordic countries, and maybe parts of Europe, but it is in no way doing well. PS4 is still dominating it.

From the Nordic report (still 2014) we can see, Sweden alone is responsible for 49% of the software sales for the X1 in the Nordic countries, in contrast, Swedes stood for 35% of the software sales for the PS4.
Also 51% of all software sales for the X360, and only 26% of all software sales for the PS3 where from Sweden.

Sweden stands for about 35% of all software sales in the Nordic countries.

That's as close of a number we have, until next years Nordic report, around April.

Ps4 doesn't seem as dominant on Sweden as the rest of EU.
I would presume a 6 to 1 advantage for PS4 maybe more.

360 vs PS3 and Paganmoon's post would suggest that Sweden is possibly the 3rd (and fairly close to 2nd) most favorable European country for the Xbox One in terms of marketshare (relative to PS4).

...this is still a tripling however, so yeah

also no early UK chart this time? lame

Will be interesting to see where all the games end up after this weekend. Expecting some surprise rises and at least one or two shocking collapses...

Any Need for Speed LTD estimations?

Need for Speed < 57,200

PS4 < 38,300
XBO < 18,900

A little lower on the PS4 side, but pretty much there.

So I will go with 56,000 first week.

Code:
[Week 45, 2015] NEED FOR SPEED (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 56,000 / NEW
[Week 46, 2015] NEED FOR SPEED (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 21,300 / 77,300 (-62%)
[Week 47, 2015] NEED FOR SPEED (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 13,000 / 90,300 (-39%)

The charts have been delayed, not sure when they will be live, sometime today hopefully. :)
I'm expecting a lot of Xbox one software in the charts, I've seen way more deals on Xbox one with upto five title bundled which will no doubt shifted enough to effect the charts.

Should see rises for Nathan Drake and Until Dawn. Then FIFA, BF, CoD, GTA, Fallout and Taken King for both consoles. Not sure what else was BF other than those.

The Chart will be dominated by Call of Duty Black Ops III.
#2 should be one between FIFA and Star Wars, not sure. Gonna say Star Wars, but by a small margin.
Then Fallout at #4.

And a lot of bump for the others games, expecially who is bundled.

Thanks the bundles, expect a massive boost for Syndacate and Nathan Drake collection.
Even Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon should have a good increase thanks the Wii U bundle.
Gears of War Ultimate and Rare replay too. Halo should do great, but would be much bigger with a more accessible bundle.

Wonder how Tomb Raider will be in the chart... really no idea. hope in a well increase, we'll see.

Wonder if we'll get any news on who won BF today. Though if the Nathan Drake collection is really high that could be an indication but still difficult to tell with so many bundles.

#2 / Star Wars: Battlefront - 135,000
#3 / FIFA 16 - 130,000
#4 / Fallout 4 - 90,000

Probably a retailer late giving back their figures. Too busy counting their money instead.

Probably. The big store data analysts will be busy adding up overall figures for PR and other places that collect the data to provide an overall picture. I used to do it for one of the supermarkets and this is a busy day!

Was the same even last year? I can't remember.
