I have to remind myself this is the UK chart. You expect ROTR to outsell Halo 5 in the U.S. on Black Friday?

Who Said US?
I talk about UK.

I mean, how much sold Halo 5 this week?
12-13k or so?
Tomb Raider is at ~26k... This mean Halo need to double it's Sales next week for sell what TR sold this week, and like Halo, even TR can get a boost next week.

I Said "not so Sure" because i See a good chance for Tomb Raider Over Halo 5 next week... Not saying will happen, but we can't Say Halo will FOR SURE beat Lara.

I guess the BF thing confused me. I didn't know UK had BF.

Not sure on theory that TR could ride the coat tails of Uncharted. I think sales would've been the same if U4 was this year and we've seen Forza and Halo drop numbers and we have big splits in multiplats. XBO software seems quite low. Starting to think even an October release of Tomb Raider would be similar.

Quite amazing to see TR as 20 year old huge IP go to Alan Wake or remaster numbers

Yes, UK has Black Friday. Of course is not crazy like in The US, but if You Look last year:

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Sales increased by 110%, FIFA 15 increased by 84%, Assassin’s Creed: Unity increased by 28%, and PS4 and XB1 Sales increased by 120% last year in UK during The week 48.

Week 3 for TR with all the promos/sales should easily beat Week 2, which is fairly low as it is.

Useless anecdote, but online this past week I'm seeing a lot of MS ads (non-intrusive banners on several sites like the tech section of BBC). The green banner is hard to not notice. But almost all of the ads are for Halo 5 and Forza 6. I have yet to see a dedicated TR banner. TR shows up in the banner that lists the four games in the "greatest lineup" (Halo, Forza, Gears, TR).

Advertising space this time of year can't be cheap. Not sure what SE will do next fall.

So I m reading through this thread, and I still cannot find where people are getting the 42k number for Tomb Raiders first week. Not that I do not believe it, but I cannot find where that number comes from.

Last weeks thread. Was confirmed by someone with info. Includes both XB1 and 360 versions.

You should care tho. It's a really really great game. Don't let MS's silly marketing tactic change that. I am sure people will care because I can't think of better games. I can't see this game being a bad game in a year. It's one of the best of the year easily

A great game is a great game, rise of the tomb raider is just that

Tell that to the rest of Xbox community first and foremost. They should care about the game for now. I see that their care about ROTR is reflected on sales.

Maybe, but it won't beat week 1, which means it'll barely move the needle... Unless...

My oh my how the penny has dropped on Assassins Creed.
Shame because I loved the series all they way through AC4 and stuck with it until Unity broke me down.

Now I just feel so hopelessly burnt out on a franchise with such a rigid formula and it seems the British buyers felt the same way.

I wonder what Ubi's plan for next year is? Surely the game needs a serious shake a la Black Flag

Star Wars: Battlefront had a great launch, but it's not enough to put this weeks sales up over last year. Grand Theft Auto V launch on PS4 and Xbox One was massive (400,000), and there also was Far Cry 4 and Dragon Age: Inquisition. Overall software sales will probably be around 1,100,000 units. In the end November sales (volume) will practically be flat over last year.

Have we got a link with proof? Definite proof? All ive seen is that 92 thousand or 96 thousand number? Wouldn't that number be correct? Or has those numbers been 100 percent debunked

No, MCV magazine is usually released on Thursday or Friday.

I said that week 47, 2015 entertainment software sales would probably be around 1.1 million, although I believe now that they will be closer to 1.2 million. November will be 5% up (volume) over last year.

I will also make the same comparison chart using the NPD calendar (weeks 45 - 48) since it includes Black Friday week.

Code:
[B]November, 2015[/B]

Week 45, 2015 - 1,216,280 units / £49.3m [notable releases: Call of Duty: Black Ops III]

So december is going to be down big time (Week 48 - 52)?
I dont think we will see software touching 2 million units in week 48.?

To add to what Hasney said:

The 92/96 number is also a speculated number based on what was believed to be the high-end for TR given this week's drop.

Before we got the definitive number for Tomb Raider, we didn't have an actual number, more of an approximation what is is below.

When I think I saw how flop Halo 5 can be...

Tomb Raider > Halo 5

That is beyond my mind.

Well, their respective positions in the chart aren't so far that it means a big difference in unit sold. Plus Halo released like, what, 2 weeks before TR?

With black friday this week in the UK, are we expecting a big WoW increase in sales for budget titles or just more of the regular Christmas big sellers? (CoD, FIFA etc.).

Mpl90

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
I know both Amiibo Festival and Ultra Light released last week, but Wii U still went from 4 to 10 titles in Top 100. Did the console get special deals in Germany recently?

We'll see some things yeah. Wondering if we see Blazbkue after the £0.01 error too.

Battlefront PC over Xbone in Germany, holy moly :-D
was different for BF Hardline, but could just be the different season or Star Wars appeal. Also: 4th or 5th probably isn't a big difference in units.

Hardline felt "arcady" - I wouldn't be suprised if it sold worse on pc as earlier BF entries.

Halo was never big in Germany, Dead Rising and Gears of War were banned. So most of its 360 exclusives were not big here. GT mopped the floor with Forza. Only good Xbox exclusive in Germany was Fable because it was an RPG.

What a boost for Wii U software... :O

So, for the record:

Animal Crossing: Amiibo Borefest
Japan-#5 (MC)/#11 (Famitsu), 20303/13289 units respectively
UK-out of top 40, #4 on Wii U only chart
Germany-#32

Mario Tennis Light: Ultra Rushed
UK-out of top 40, #7 on Wii U only chart
Germany-#25

Games so reliant on brand name and little else deserve to bomb quite frankly. If they keep this up then it's only going to cause long term damage to their IPs, just like what happened with Sega and Sonic.

Xbox software should see a boost next week, I've seen deals with up to five games included, some as low as 250 with three titles included madness.

I know both Amiibo Festival and Ultra Light released last week, but Wii U still went from 4 to 10 titles in Top 100. Did the console get special deals in Germany recently?

There are still some nice bundles, but i remember there being a special Nintendo "3 for 2" deal at the big retailers a short time ago.

Have we got this week number.. i wander how much less than last year they are..

No, MCV magazine is usually released on Thursday or Friday.

I said that week 47, 2015 entertainment software sales would probably be around 1.1 million, although I believe now that they will be closer to 1.2 million. November will be 5% up (volume) over last year.

My first guess was more accurate :p

MCV magazine said:
Call of Duty, Fallout and Star Wars lift physical games market in November

UK games stores generated over £172m last month thanks to a trio of blockbuster launches, GfK Chart-Track data reveals.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III - which has now shifted over 1m units - Fallout 4 and Star Wars Battlefront saw the games market rise by eight per cent in revenue this November compared with the same period in 2014.

Together, those three titles sold just shy of 2m units across the UK.

In total, 4,399,297 physical games were sold between October 25th and November 21st.

Other titles that performed strongly included the launch of Halo 5, a good second month for Assassin's Creed Syndicate and impressive sales of WWE 2K16, Minecraft Story Mode and Fifa 16.

The majority of software sales sold were on PS4, although it was close between that and Xbox One.

Microsoft's machine was boosted by a number of exclusive titles, including Halo 5: Guardians and Rise of the Tomb Raider.

I'm creating a new thread about November retail sales in the UK.
