Good to see that French Media learned from Charlie Hebdo.
Don't want this scum to see police on TV. Unfortunately american media hasn't gotten the memo yet.

Paris seems like such a nice city, but at the same time there is such unrest and discontent in the suburbs that is breeding extremism.

Jesus....cant even imagine how bad the death toll will be if the explosions at the concert hall turn out to be confirmed.

not to sound all doom and gloom....but this is definitely a history changing day. it will affect the coming decades just like 9/11 did.

I just saw this on the TV at the corner store. Jesus Christ.

The French people should know that the world stands with them, and that our hearts and our prayers are fixed upon them.

As terrible as this news is why does there seems to be some downplaying it? So what if it is being reported by CNN and Fox? It is not that far fetched what they are reporting is happening.

not sure whatt this is supposed to mean?

Initial news reports are always inaccurate, and CNN and FOX are particularly untrustworthy in this regard.

CNN had an eyewitness report from a french media member/radio host, who was in the theater and witnessed it.

Okay but:

1) Posting this on GAF makes it third hand news (witness -> CNN -> poster), which is bad for getting the details right or assessing claim credibility

2) The information is significantly out of date

3) People who are not just driveby posting are trying to figure out what's going on and it's made harder when they can't figure out if new posts are the same old news being re-reported or new, breaking news, especially since old reports with the word BREAKING: don't get edited to remove the BREAKING:

People should not be posting anything that isn't a first-hand report, linked directly, originating from within the last few minutes. There is essentially no reason to post a US media report at all because they will never be those things in this case. Less noise, more signal.

The Mumbai attacks showed what a small group of hardcore Islamist militants can do when they are not afraid to die, hell 9-11 did too. People worried about rules of engagement and police overreaction are clueless. These people need to be cornered and killed as quickly as possible so the loss of innocent life can stop.

This is just awful. Was watching the football game and heard the explosion.

Makes me feel uneasy having so many refugees without any papers in Europe.

Explosions may have been flashbangs if the police are finally raiding

You don't see the issue with people saying reports of X under siege, shooting at location Y, etc etc for people who are in Paris trying to figure out where to go and what to do? We've already heard the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower had shooting which is not true. There's a problem with just passing around whatever stuff people make up.

Bet Uber isn't,
