PAX East 2012 Thread

I was more surprised at how "corporate" PAX East got with the sponsership from different companies, 5-Hour Energy Drink, Rohto Eye Drops (it was interesting getting free samples of all that stuff), I probably have enough eye drops to last me a long while. I guess PAX has gotta pay for all this stuff somehow.

Then there was Chevrolet, they were giving out free t-shirts, I was just disappointed that they were not giving away a free car, or two, or three.

I'm so glad they have a "no booth babe" policy at the show, because you know if they allowed booth babes, they'd have to allow...........wait for it......"booth hunks". Don't need to see no Booth Hunk wearing speedos with spaghetti balls bulging through......no sir....I don't like it.

I actually think it's the smartest thing they could have done for this game- it's already playing on this weird sex appeal so much, why not involve actual real life boobs? :lol But maybe don't bring it to PAX. It's more of a Comic-Con thing.

I was already interested from the start because of the fact it's a Suda 51 game. Those games are awesome for being so off the wall and uncompromisingly crazy. Not sex appeal. Then again I suppose his games do have some strong elements sexuality mixed in, just in an extremely fucked up way.

I meant, it's the smartest thing they can do to sell it to an audience beyond the criminally sparse amount of Suda 51 fans. I'm with you, as soon as I saw this game I thought "welp, looks like NMH, guess I'm in".

For a visual reference, she looks exactly like the porn star, Bella Blaze. The resemblance is unreal

I think she was standing behind me for a bit while I was waiting for Far Cry 3 before I gave up to go play Cards Against Humanity.

Also I hope she doesn't read GAF. Haha.

I'm the guy in the Terry Bogard hat. Our band name was How Mass Effect 3 Should Have Ended. That's my friend Laura killing it on vocals and my friend Ben in the Sonic hat. Kinded killed PAX for me with how awesome the night before was!

Haha, you fools! PAX POX for everyone..I've evaded it for two straight years. Somehow.

...somehow probably being that I live only an hour or so away from Boston and am generally already sick for half the winter. So all of our local germs have already affected me.

Anyways, had a great time at the show. Mass Effect panel wasn't nearly as interesting as I'd hoped, but the Gearbox, Irrational, Giant Bomb, etc. panels made up for it by being pretty awesome. Once again I didn't play enough games on the show floor, but I got to check out Dust (who I now find out is Noogy in this thread!), that stealth ninja game, Orcs Must Die 2, etc. Need to try more Indie games next year, for sure. Worrying about playing a little Borderlands 2, when you think about it, isn't really worth it if you plan on buying it anyways, which I do.

I was riding solo the entire show, which was good in some ways, but after expo hours and such I found myself wishing I had hitched onto some folks. Might look into messing with tabletop, freeplay, or something else after-hours next year.

You are correct, I deserve no sympathy. Largely because I stopped following the thread while making last-minute decisions and such--you guys were still bickering about a day last I had seen :p That and I'm actually largely a lurker until recently (Junior member, bitches) so I wasn't sure how familiar everyone would be, etc etc.

Maybe next year!

It's really interesting seeing what GAFers look like in real life. e.g. I thought arsenic yellow was a dude since her avatar is actually RobertM. And I guess its stupid but I always pictured you as looking like the person in your avatar. Dark haired.

The wonderful gal who recorded our panel (gtz) was one of the panelists on n00dz, so I'm expecting that it'll also be showing up soon. Was a great (yet somewhat depressing) panel.
