So if I liked the first game, I'll like this...right?
Mostly yes. There are plenty of missions that can be done in total stealth. Every gun can be customized, but you have to "win" those customization parts first. Money now act's as currency to buy weapon mods, spend skill points, buy masks; no longer does it add to your exp pool. Each class you can be is much more specific in their roles, and can have a larger effect on gameplay. So if I liked the first game, I'll like this...right?
pretty much, yes
it has shorter legs, at least for me, tho
Baby steps.Good to see that fundamentals like a robust server filter system are slowly making their way into this game. Better late than never.
Baby steps.
- How about actually saving my filter settings instead of resetting them
- How about fixing the constant "connection lost to host" or "failed to join server" error messages
- How about a checkbox-style filter that let you select multiple mission to search for
- How about not showing me new contracts that clearly do not meet my search critieria
I almost wish this game started out as early access. Then by the time I got around to buying it, the incredibly basic stuff like this would have been sorted out already.
I almost forgot:yup that's what I think
yup, I think early access is a good way to channel good will and release something in a bit of a rough state, but it wouldn't really work for multi-platform games like pd2, which speaks a lot how shitty shipping for consoles really is in comparisonI almost forgot:
- unfinished Safe House (didn't they say it was suppose to change depending on how much money you had, and maybe not look like a run down shack?)
- the Spook special unit hasn't been added to the game yet
- Offline mode bots are nigh useless (and why do I only get 2 of them instead of 3)
One could argue it's an early access already, in everything but name.
It's always been in the back of my mind, it seems like they rushed it to get it out ahead of GTA V, seeing as how it's going to have it's own heists you can do. Maybe it influenced them, maybe it didn't, but it's awfully suspicious to me. From the looks of it, the heists in GTA V may end up being better than the ones in this, a game solely based on heists. Sure it doesn't have to worry about competing with it on PC, yet, but still.

I don't think it'd matter much, since it's multiplayer vs singleplayer, though releasing at the same time as gta is suicide no matter the genre.
I think it may've been a publisher thing
I think payday 3 should be f2p with new heists every month
buy customization for masks and guns and exp/money boosts
the rest you can buy with ingame money
gg
uh no
Payday 2 is like the only game in the world that isn't doing stupid fucking microtransactions.
I'd rather it keep it that way.

Changelog for update 11:
- Expert Driver Asset - This will make sure that you won't trigger an escape level (requires the Inside Man skill in the Mastermind Tree)
- Kick enabled/disabled option added to game settings and Crime.net filter
- Players can now throw heavy bags into helicopters
EDIT: Also, it seems the Heist filter has now disappeared. *slow clap*
My Inside Man skill will finally be useful, in another 3 or 4 months on console lol.
David Goldfarb commented that the next PS3/360 patch is going to contain everything in the first 10 PC patches on Twitter. Almir also responded to one of my forum posts saying they were including as many changes as possible from the PC patches. God only knows when it will be ready and how big the download is going to be if the first one was a "small patch" at 2GB.
The mastermind class is slowly climbing out of irrelevance. Yay!
Really? Dominator and Smooth Talker have always been vital for successful stealth runs.
Irrelevant is an exaggeration on my part, but it's a class that, I feel, needs the most improvement. Those abilities are the best it has to offer and can be unlocked early on.
A mastermind/ghost hybrid is much more preferable, I'd say.

The numbers don't lie: shotguns are IMBA AS FUCK.

@sixdemon 20m now. Down from 40m.
this kinda sucks because I really enjoy when a shooter does long range shotguns and the reinfield just felt beautifulLooks like they are going to nerf the shotguns range down to 20m from 40m. Maybe I'll see less lobbies of 3 full specced enforcers with a reinfield/mosconi primary and locomotive secondary then. I'm usually the only non-enforcer build not using shotguns in the entire lobby half the time I play with randoms it seems. Somethings wrong when people only want to use 1 or 2 specific weapons.
That's precisely what I went for (with the melee and bag hiking boosts from Enforcer)! XD
Personally, I don't think specialising in any one class is a particularly efficient use of points; however, the upper MM stuff is pretty neat. Joker is extremely useful for firefight missions like Rats and Watchdogs, as are the several boosts to intimidation for stealth missions (can't remember the exact perks. At least one is a tier bonus).

Play it with your friends so you can plan the heist. That's the way to go.I've only been in one team where anyone has tried stealth, everyone else goes in just guns blazing and getting alerts. Am I missing as much of the fun as I think I am?
Enforcer have bonus on the shotguns, of course they use it.
M14(M308) is the best primary in the game in my opinion, if you are a good shot and can make use of the limited ammo. It's nice being able to one shot heavies and tasers in the head before they even get close. Then again I've seen people use it while shooting wildly that waste tons of ammo.
The clip size on it is ridiculous as well, if you have the top tier Technician skill.M14(M308) is the best primary in the game in my opinion, if you are a good shot and can make use of the limited ammo. I've been playing this game a lot recently. I really like it. I normally play w/ a friend and two randoms on xbox. I have just a few quick thoughts. It seems everyone is confused by non-specials who have cuffed themselves. I'll take the time to talk them down, then a teammate seems to shot them later. It drives me crazy.
