Why is this show so awesome?
(not really a question :p)
also what's the song 35 minutes in the last episode?

I doubt Kara killed Donnelly because he saw her.

While it made sense Donnelly going after Reese and Carter without backup because he did not know who to trust, it is convenient the only loose end connecting Reese to "the man in suit" investigation was Donnelly. Kara must had known about Donnelly's investigation so killing him closes that problem and the machine would not have given Donelly's SSN unless he was specifically being targeted.

Agreed. Kara planned to kill him, that much is obvious.

I love this show and the long wait to the end of January is going to kill me. I will have to put myself on ice.

So glad it is doing good in ratings. We need another season...or three.

1) Keep away from thread to avoid spoilers.
2) Miss information of it being a multi-episode arc.
3) Watch episodes 11 and 12.
4) Investigate options for cryogenic suspension till Jan 31, 2013. (Or is it Feb 7th?)

31st... I think. I looked into cryo suspension too, but the risk of death was too high. An induced coma, maybe.

I think there were major plot reveals before the break last year. Seems like the first visible pattern of something big going down.

*returns to cryogenic chamber*

Also, Fusco's B-Movie arc with a European supermodel!

I don't recall the last TV show I really loved that had more than 13-16 episodes per season.

Maybe Babylon 5?

I want to see what Kara's doing to John!

Considering their past...

Hehehehe.

Day after tomorrow!

Looking forward to having Sarah Shahi on the show.

Whaaaaaaaaaa? Didn't know that. I like her.

http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/01/08/sarah-shahi-to-recur-on-person-of-interest/

Sarah Shahi is going after Finch and Reese!

The former Fairly Legal star has scored a recurring guest star role on CBS’s Person of Interest, EW has learned.

She will play Shaw, a “fearless, sexy operative in a secret paramilitary organization that tracks and eliminates terrorists before they can act,” according to creator/executive producer Jonathan Nolan. “She brings to her work a yen for mayhem and a sharp, dark wit — in whatever language the locals are speaking,” he says of the character. “If James Bond and Sarah Connor had a kid, Shaw would kick its ass.”

Her multi-episode arc begins in the Feb. 21 episode, titled “Relevance,” which will be directed by Nolan.

Oh, so she's the Jack Bauer Catwoman mentioned earlier.

Well, not a bad choice.

On various rewatches I've had of Rescue Me (FX show), I keep finding various actors/actresses that have reappeared on POI. Simmons, the HR cop, had a large role on the show. Fusco had a small role. John's deceased love Jessica, was a sexy ex-nun on the show. Zoe was a teacher who, uh, gave some interesting homework assignments. The POI that was a broker, and had the uncle who ran the food truck business, the Uncle was a main character on Rescue Me. The Neo-Nazi who originally had Bear (then thrown out the window) was another side character.

There are probably others I haven't remembered.

I'm sure this is mainly because the 2 shows are/were filmed in NYC.

Probably. I see the same thing happening in shows filmed in Vancouver but not quite to that extent.

Wait...what???

i9ud9nMnsGaRh.gif

was that Wayne Board member in Batman Begins, showed back up in TDKR. Saw someone in the credits with the last name Nolan, wonder if that guy is a relative.

Yep, John Nolan, is an uncle to the Nolan Brothers

I remember someone saying this was a 4 episode arc, and I think this is the 4th episode, so it'll "somewhat" finish tonight, but probably only as much as John getting free.

Not sure how they're getting out of this, unless the bomb vests were decoys all along.

Unless Finch can pull off another "Shut down the grid" moment

I bet it was Finch who sold it. Perhaps an early vengeance ploy from his "Injury" or Nathan's vest

Yep

One of the best episodes of POI and it just led to an amazing ending.

I knew it would be dark but I don't think anyone expected it to end like that.

Many doors closed yet many more raised more prominently.

What a tangled web Nolan and company has weaved...

While Kara would be another Solid Villain, she was vile enough, that she needed some serious comeuppance, and that's exactly what she got. Now, I hated Snow, but his long term ordeal was probably brutal, and being able to give Kara one of the great "F YOU" sendoffs on Television, was really great.

Plus, in Death, he helps John out with the whole "Man in a Suit" rap :lol

Yeah, it closed the Crazy Partner and Evil CIA Boss angles, and opens up a seperate Shadow Company/Government, in opposition to the one in control of the Machine :lol

Holy crap, great episode!

Thoughts:
I am a little bit disappointed that Kara's arc ended here since it has been building up since mid-last season though I guess I can see why; she won't stop until she's put in the ground. Glad Snow is gone too and that they've tied most of that all up and not dragging it on for another season.

The moment where Carter tried to hold John back from blowing himself up, wow, they've really come along way. I think someone mentioned Fusco has come along way too, and this episode showed it (helping Carter find the missing ear-ring and then dropping everything to help find Reese).

I can already see parts of the season finale now that we know without a doubt Finch was behind the laptop in China. He basically wanted Reese dead and he doesn't know it...yet -- maybe Finch recruiting John in is some sort of redemption too?

Another villain added into the mix which should make things interesting, I can see Root coming out of the left field and making it more fun!
What a great story arc, 4 episodes and each better than the next! This show has legs even without the weekly POI :)

My Speculation

I'm feeling it the other way. Harold never had the CIA or Government contacts that Nathan did. I don't see Finch being able to send in an order for a mission to go to China. I'm seeing that either Finch tried to make another Machine, Nathan tried to make another machine using Harold's name, or this group knows the name of the person who made the machine and imply that he's the person responsible for all of this i.e. just by creating the machine, making spies "useless", making the government be ultra protective of this Machine.)

I still feel that Nathan's Death and Harold's injuries tie back into this, either the government tying up loose ends, or because they did this China thing. I also keep wondering about the Season 1 flashback of Kara and Reese hiding in NYC, while interrogating a guy in a closet. I've wondered if that guy was Nathan, or if Kara/John might have been the people that cause whatever happened to Nathan and Finch

Person of Interest is clearly demonstrating that it has no desire to maintain the status quo. Stuff is just constantly happening and changing. New characters enter the stage as others leave permanently.

This shows knows how to surprise, at the very least.
