Kanji's dungeon was rough for me. I had to try it twice because the enemies were dragging me over the coals. Luckily, after leaving from the first run, I was able to get some MUCH better weapons. I think that might be my tactic from now on- go as far as possible on the first mandatory entry, get tons of things to sell, leave, make some great weapons, and finish the dungeon at a later date.
Well, it also didn't help that I was collecting stuff for quests in the old place before investigating Kanji's dungeon and had an arcana card give me full HP, but give everyone 1SP. That pretty much wrecked any chance I had at real progress in Kanji's place. Definitely going to avoid arcana cards when possible now, haha.
The boss fight was a tough one too. It took me around 40 minutes to finish, and I didn't even fully figure out my tactic until nearly 20 minutes in. I ended up using my protagonist (with the Saravosita or something persona) to heal my entire party, use Chie and Yousuke as my attackers, and alternate Yukiko as a healer/attacker when the time presented itself. I didn't even realize that Yousuke had such a great stat nullifier for all of the boosting the boss got until like 15 minutes in. I was mad at myself because I gave Yukiko more SP before the battle than him, assuming she would be my healer, but I ended up primarily healing off my character. Oh well, I made it out alive, and I feel wiser!
I have to say, I'm a little disappointed that they brushed aside Kanji being gay for "I just wanted people to accept me." I mean, it's still an important issue, but I thought it would be pretty interesting to see a homosexual character portrayed as the rough, tough kid. Kanji is still very enjoyable, though, and he reminds me of a mix of Zoro and Luffy (from One Piece). Cracks me up how he is never paying attention during the talks.
And them taking Kanji to Teddie for the first time really got me, haha. Kanji wanting to pet him, and the thing with the glasses got hearty chuckles from me.
The camping trip has been one of my favorite parts of the game, from a humor standpoint. It was almost cringworthy at one or two points, but it was still very funny. Also, I'm pretty sure Yousuke is going to grow up to be a pedophile... That swimsuit part, haha. Just a little uncomfortable.
Every time a new character for the party is introduced I resent them, but the more I interact with them the more I want them on my team. I'm starting to feel that way toward Rise, and I really liked how they presented her disappearance. The chasing of the peeping tom guy was great, but I couldn't help yelling at them to leave someone there at the Tofu shop. Who would have guessed she's gone now?!
The investigation team is investigating stuff for Teddie to use to track down Rise at the moment, so I'm looking forward to the new dungeon. Time to keep refining my dungeon tactics!
