Waifus everyone told me not to pick. I'm stuck with Proto-Yosuke, Mitsuru's Fiance's Dad, and Chibodee Crockett. I coulda been rolling in babes.

Which reminds me:

Persona 1

After like, three months or cycles of that moon thing of wandering the fuck around, we finally find the harem Queen. She's ugly as fuck, Mark tells her she's a shit, and she boots us out to the entrance of the dungeon. Reiji, being the XP whore that he is, immediately suggests we go right back into the dungeon and fight some more. First we spent all our cash on armor though.

Are there any weapon shops that sell stuff like swords and axes? Cuz I haven't found any.

Should have listened to Acid and me and gone with Elly v(。-_-。)v

The mall should sell weapons, but it's been a while since I played P1.

Company culture is definitely different between the east and west. Iwata wouldn't be allowed to fuck up the way he is right now in a million years in the states.

Tell me about it. Im so not looking forward to Nintendo's awful lackluster game reveals at E3. "New Super mario 9034334" ; "New Zelda 3ds", "Cooking game" etc.

I wonder if Iwata knows how to use the internet?

Crazy thing is, I love Nintendo, and wish them all the success in the world. But they really need to get their act together. The 180 that MS did with the Xboxone should be a massive inspiration to them.

Conversely, I don't have much love for Nintendo, but I respect Iwata. He's done what has worked for years. Only now, it's not working anymore, and he doesn't know how to react.

Oh

I guess I didn't notice because I stopped caring about melee weapons early on. All you need are guns + Persona.

(guns in particular are insanely powerful if you've been pumping points into DEX)
Yeah, this. Didn't use melee at all, just guns and magikz.

I dont get how a multi billlion dollar company doesn't know how to react. If their research team searched the internet for consumer feedback, and monitored what Sony and MS were doing to be successful, they would know exactly what to focus on.

Its not just Nintendo though, look at Capcom, Konami, Sqaure, etc. (Although, a recent Square interview does indicate that they finally "get it"......hopefully)

It feels as if Nintendo just cover both of their ears and say lalalalallalal, to any form of feedback.

Again, pride. Iwata's the guy who said something to the effect of 'he'd leave before letting Nintendo games being on other platforms'.

A P4A anime would be amazing if executed properly. P4A easily lends itself to an episodic format too, so there's no need to worry about pacing.

If they continue doing Persona anime series after the final Persona 3 movie, P4A is probably the most likely one to adapt next. The question that would follow would be whether they'd just adapt the first game, or adapt both of them.

Fair enough on his stance for Nintendo games, but what about things such as their network. AOL 56k from 10 years ago works better than the wii/wiiu online.

Nintendo are consistently trying to capture that casual market, even though they've gone to tablets/smart phones.

Noone knows what a Wiiu is. They're only focusing on Mario, Zelda and Donkey kong. Some may say the other franchises are not as profitable, which may be true. But, what other choice do they have? They have no 3rd party support, and you can't keep releasing the same games over and over again.

I dunno, i find myself questioning everything Nintendo does. Usually, im left shaking my head.

Im still trying to figure out why they are releasing Smash Brothers on the 3DS at the sametime as the Wiiu. Surely, from a business perspective, they would be better off delaying the 3DS version for a while to draw people to the Wiiu (Like Titanfall did).

And damn, im still waiting for SMTXFE. :)

Oh hell yes, a Persona 4 Arena and Ultimax anime would be awesome. Id kill for a Catherine anime aswell :p

No, weapon stores in P1 only sell guns. Swords/axes/bows/gloves/etc only come from treasure, enemy encounters or the casino.

Don't give me that. We're here because of Okada. Full stop. While people were making fantasy RPGs, he spearheaded games with occult, mature, modernist settings that most devs wouldn't dream of touching. Show some respect.

Sometimes dude, I just don't know...

Kyle Bosman made the perfect metaphor for Nintendo's action: the company is a bumbling elephant that does its own thing, regardless of the idiocy. They are also the student who have a ton of potential, and will occasionally get the best grade on an exam, but will mostly slack off.

On the other hand, they could be two characters that become the best of friends by rallying around their complete ignorance concerning how the real world works while Margaret just wants to die.

Elizabeth looks adorable and lol at Theo. Can't wait to see if Margaret and Marie have any special roles.

Perhaps we'll learn more about them next week, since I think it's safe to say that Elizabeth and Theodore are going to be the characters getting PQ trailers this week. I think.

The chibi model in PQ made me realized how scary the velvet siblings' yellow eyes are.

I'm thinking that Theo had to wear a pink heart apron because he lost a bet with his sisters. Or maybe he can't fight against his older sisters' command :p

It was hands down the most fun I've had on the internet ever.
What a great morning that was, coming off a night shift, getting home just in time for it. The IRC had already lost its mind.

I'd like to remind everyone that the Persona reveal event a few months ago was one of the greatest video game tease and announcement campaigns of all time.

What an incredible event-- just reading through the pastebin from IRC, I feel confident in declaring ATLUS the Master Troll. XD

It was so much fun being there with you all when all of these games were announced, especially Persona 5. I'll never forget it. :)

I'll never forget my confusion of watching some old japanese lady talk about shit I couldn't understand, nor will I forget my disappointment when I thought PQ was the sole announcement.

I'll never forget how insanely butthurt all the people who irrationally hate the 3DS got when they revealed PQ.

After all the debates that were had the week leading up to the event, there was literally nothing that could have been more perfect.

But that abrupt turn when the P5 trailer started... Man, I've never felt/seen/experienced anything like it. We all went from the darkest depths to the highest highs.

We still have the chatlog pinned atop the IRC channel. It's awesome to read.
