Kind of a different beast though. We've seen the vita be able to handle games from the PS3 with a downgrade to the visuals. Also Sony did make it easy to port between PS4 and vita.

I don't think a Vita port will happen, regardless of if it's possible or not.

why not? what has changed?

what i am saying akiba's trip 2 has a certain style, it looks similar to p5's style, the former looks bad you say but maybe thats because its on the vita. like a scaled down p5

I'm sure they could port it to the vita with some concessions, though it's hard to say how large the concessions would need to be without an idea of the full scope of the game.

Yeah, any Persona 5-related page TV Tropes is a den of stupidity. I remember checking the P5 character page last night to find that someone had fabricated entire backstories for all of the known characters and posted them like they were facts. That's some Mr. Fantastic-tier reaching. The WMG page is also chock-full of the dumbest most fanfictiony speculation known to man.

This is still among the funniest things on the internet though:

I'm popping in here to say I started playing Persona 4 recently, and I'm having a minor difficulty.

The same thing happened when I played FES, and basically it's that as I make progress through the game, I reach a major boss and get rekt because I'm underleveled. Not because of inefficient strategies (well, usually that's the first run >>;;;) but because I'm like 5 levels below where I should be.

Right now even, I'm at Shadow Yukiko (super early, I know) and I'm getting beaten because I'm probably a few levels too early to beat the boss, but I don't want to powerlevel and end up stomping the boss too. How do I balance my leveling, and why am I always underleveled??

I beat Persona 3 by the way, so don't worry about that.

Getting this straight: are you saying that the PS4 version of Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed looks as good as the footage of Persona 5 from PV01?

To be fair, you went into WMG (Wild Mass Guessing). *Anything* goes in that zone, and 90% of the time people aren't even remotely serious there.

As for the rest, well, people's like that on the internet, just edit the wrong info.

Famous Japanese voice actor best known for playing Lelouch in Code Geass. Apparently he was the one who announced the arrival of Persona 5 at the concert and will likely be voicing the protagonist.

so the MC will only be partially voiced? like during battles?
chances of fully voicing his lines seem unlikely correct?

Hashino wasn't too happy about the concessions they had to make to get Persona 3 working on the PSP.

Well. It really depends on what the final product is. What they've shown as of right now could probably be done on the Vita with the only hits being to small things like graphical resolution and NPC density. But we haven't seen the vast majority of the game and don't know if they'd have to make concessions everywhere to get it to work.

I personally don't think the concessions will be a significant leap like they were for Persona 3 Portable, as the PSP had a number of specific hardware quirks and issues that plagued ALL similar games. The Vita already gets PS3 to Vita ports with minimal compromises (Dynasty Warriors, the Alteier games, etc) so it really just depends on what the rest of the game is like.

Yup, I am specifically talking about the characters and the main page. WMG is just a playground page, and was marked as such in the previous version of the website.

You never need to grind.......ever.

Just sweep each floor, have the right persona equipped (for s.Yuki, fire resist with Ice spell) and plan ahead with items and you'll be fine.

ps. S.Yuki is known as being a tough boss for the early game, so dont fret too much about having trouble with her.

no when did i say that, you misunderstand
i say the overall style of akiba trip 2 looks like a scaled down version of p5, then i said maybe p5 can port to vita without making it like p3p where 3d over world models are removed

then i say i believe p5 scaled down can be on the vita.

Gotcha... I think. Yeah, who knows what kind of concessions they'd have to make to port P5 to the Vita since we're not currently aware of P5's scale.

:D

Im a super handheld/portable person. I know that I will be remote playing this p5 game on my Vita. The only thing Im worried about is that the 5inch screen may be a bit small to appreciate p5's fantastic graphics.

Hmm, it's just that I was close to beating her (I had Saki Mitama with ice magic, so that helped) but she used one crazy strong attack that brought my whole party to its knees, and that's what's stuffing me. Could just be bad luck, but I guess I'll just be getting more items and prepping myself better.

Or maybe I could fuse Jack Frost. :D

Uhhhh, jack frost is fire weak, so not the best idea :p

But yeah, good item management can help you win battles that you should have no chance in.

I know that, but it's still cringe-inducing how far some people go trying to connect dots that aren't even there, even if it's in jest. Sometimes we get unintentionally hilarious gems like the screen I posted though, so it's occasionally worth the slog.

The Akiba's Trip loading times were ATROCIOUS. And all the location areas were super duper small.

It's also worth pointing out that the Persona 5 WMG existed before the rest of the page. It's basically been there forever and nobody ever removes pre-reveal speculation. Something to keep in mind.

The Persona you really want is Senri. Immune to fire damage, comes with a heal, gets Media with a level up or two, can inherit ice spells AND the awesome abilities from Slime that lower physical attack and protect other members from fire attacks.

Always remember the Number One Rule of a Megami Tensei game: When you're stuck, fuse something better. If it still doesn't work, fuse something even better. Fusion is your friend, and virtually every problem can be solved by changing your setup to something better. Cherish it. Embrace it. Make your Personas make sweet sweet love to each other in unholy matrimony in Igor's limo. :p

The reason why so many get stuck on Shadow Yukiko is precisely because they aren't focusing on the aspect of gameplay they can easily change (their Personas) in favor of something stupidly time consuming like grinding. Grinding especially doesn't get you anywhere in Persona 4, as the game has a deliberate anti-grinding mechanic built in.

If you can fuse Jack Frost, you're definitely over-leveled. You should be able to beat her pretty handily around level 9/10, especially if you fuse Senri, who completely nullifies fire. Give her Slime's Red Wall, and you'll be able to cover Chie's fire weakness, too.

Oh, I'm aware. The entry I screenshotted has been there since like, last March or so, which is when I first came across it. I just find it kind of jarring to go from the semi-serious tone of the main page to the excitable and juvenile atmosphere of the WMGs.

The Akiba's Trip loading times were ATROCIOUS. And all the location areas were super duper small.

And the game has significant framerate issues whenever 10+ enemies are on screen.

And the game looks NOTHING like P5 in its style, I have no idea where you are even drawing comparisons from. I genuinely think the only things they have in common are 1. Anime style, 2. Set in Japan........ thats it!

It's an odd comparison to say the least.

So that's what Red Wall does!! Duh, I should've realized after the boss uses White Wall to protect the knight. ><;;; lol I'm not at the level to fuse Jack Frost, but I'll look into Senri. Thanks guys, I'll try to not fail so much at this game!

EDIT: I should mention that I keep forgetting that guard exists, coming from FES it's tricky. :(

Guard with Chie if you don't have a Persona with Red Wall to cover her Ice weakness.

Definitely don't use Jack Frost on this boss.

Items are good yeah, they help a lot.

You don't need to be higher than lvl 15 if you're playing this on Normal. The levels should come natural if you beat the shadows you come across instead of running for the stairs (which is also a good option when you're low on health to create a checkpoint of sorts).

Edit: Beaten, kinda

i agree, what i was saying is something like all the recent nice looking anime style games in japan have a similar sort of look?

like i see SAO lost song, dancing all night, akiba trip 2 and p5 they all have really nice 2d animation but in this 3d sort of style. i think the term is cel-shaded 3d graphics?

I shouldn't do that anymore. Semi-media blackout in progress.

Speaking of which, translated Persona 5 trailer.

I posted in the other thread but didn't check if we'd posted about it here. Seems the Early morning/Morning/Afternoon/Evening has been talked about already... (I definitely think it's possible and that maybe the game starts earlier than April 11th. I don't think is at the beginning of the game.)

I see some are also discussing about whether Shujin is the school name and whatnot

So the only other thing I noticed is in the medical menu:

- You can buy items or
- You can get an injection apparently? So maybe there's a system like in Persona 3 where you can get fatigued and that injection helps (or sleeping in class which is also seen). Or maybe it's like Persona Q and you can instant heal there.

There is more to performance and porting than just graphical resolution. Remember that the most important component in a computer today for gaming is the CPU itself.

What will determine if a Vita port of Persona 5 is possible are the size of the environments and the scope of the world and gameplay, not the stuff you keep going on about. You keep making comparisons to games that are far smaller in scope to begin with, and it's just not an accurate comparison.

Don't matter how over leveled you are if you let the boss with attack up + charge do it's most powerful attack on a half health mc who isn't guarding <____<

For the record my MC is level 90 against the
2nd phase of the Adachi fight

Woah, level 90 at that point already? Yeah you shouldn't have problems the rest of the way through. Did you get Marie's S. Link to level 10?

Yeah I've got everyones Slink maxed at this point outside of Rise, Kanji, Hermit, Death, and story related ones.

And I didn't even really try to over level, the game just kept throwing way too easy to kill wealth hands and then crap like this in my tarot pull

lose all exp/lose all money/crappy persona I already had/ 4x exp

So of course I took the extra exp <_<

Rise maxed would have come in handy... :/

Nanako died.

But then she didn't.

And then the game was over. I thought. Apparently, I got a bad ending. I knew something like this would happen so I made like 10 saves because I'm insane. Anyway, turns out I had one answer wrong. I knew throwing the guy into the TV would be wrong. I knew he wasn't the real culprit. But instead of going with "something is wrong" (?) I went with "Why is he scared?" and apparently one answer is enough to give you a bad ending :p

Reloaded my save (didn't make a clear save) and used the forward button for the first time. It's actually one of the best skip tools I've ever used in a game. Will come in handy for my second playthrough.

Anyway, this time I made it to the good ending and apparently the true ending too? I'm not 100% sure but they asked me who I thought would be the culprit. To be fair, I had no idea. For the longest time, I thought Igor would be the culprit but yeah in hindsight that would be too obvious or whatever :p So I started going over the evidence and I decided to pick Adachi. I really wasn't sure of this but he kinda fit the profile and if I was wrong, I'd at least have a funny conversation, no?

Well, turns out he IS the culprit... I guess? Holy shit, that caught me off guard. I never suspected the guy until the game made me reread all the evidence and I had to pick a person off a list. Usually, in "whodunnit" games I always have a list of suspects and the bad guy is in there most of the time... but I would have never guessed it was Adachi. Yeah, his goofball attitude was a real good disguise.

Saved my progress after we confronted him in the TV world and a crack to his dungeon (?) opened. Will continue tomorrow. What a revelation o_O

Late Game P4G spoilers!!!

So I have to ask, how does the original version of Persona 4 handle the finale of the game?

From what I've heard it's something like

After beating Adachi, the game flash forwards to the final dungeon where the group realizes there's another baddie to fight? Golden apparently helps clarify this point?

I'll spoiler tag the whole thing just to be safe, but its not actual spoilers.

So you've got the good ending on lock, but the TRUE ending comes later and you can EASILY miss it, so be careful.

More or less. I would have never known there was even another boss if I hadn't quickly checked the internet in my paranoia. It comes completely out of left field.

Marie's story in P4G helps clear up why the final boss shows up before it does, but I won't say anymore just in case you haven't done it.

Yeah,
after completing Adachi's dungeon it skips ahead to the last day.
