Once again, doubtful considering Atlus USA dies by the Japanese arm, and I doubt that the head honchos want to show their hand early to them damn dirty gaijins.

I don't think it's going to happen but that would just be the best case scenario. We are most likely getting PV1 again but English focus.

Im hoping more Atlus USA tells when the games is going to be released in North America ... than some seconds of a new trailer is coming 10 days later anyway.

Going to guess that "Late 2015" from Atlus website is all we are going to get.

And this EXACTLY i was expecting from tomorrow , can be more specific (that we would be great) but this one is WAY better than "Hello guys the game is STILL coming in 2015.... someday" .....

If Atlus announces a release date that is any longer then a month from the Japanese street date, or worse, 2016 for NA, then any sort of good will I had with them is gone. Kaput.

there is simply no reason why this can't be a 2015 game, and considering how starved Sony is for bonafide, console exclusive games for the holiday season, it's the perfect match.

So this P5 Blu-ray is prpbably going to be leaked before DAN even launches right?

Yep. If it drops on the 25th in Japan, we'll get videos on the 24th, I bet on that.

Well, it doesn't matter how "starved" Sony is, Atlus USA still has a limited team. They're the one's actually doing the work on the localization!

I mean. It only takes one retail employee to bust open a DAN box and watch/leak the video right.
I think it will be online the day a truck delivers all those DAN copies to game retailers

Inb4 The preview gets leaked during E3.

...You know, it's kind of funny that we had so many people before saying that they're guessing we'd only get PV#1 in English and a confirmation date for release, and that it was all they'd be hoping for, but now all of sudden people are getting upset and disappointed even though it was the most likely scenario.:p

Hell, now I'm even seeing people going back to the asinine fear that the game will be forced back to 2016. Which is just ridiculous.

Why would they not want to show that at E3? I mean 10 days guys, really?!

Well they dont even have the PV01 yet ...so the safe bet is the pv01 is going to be great reveal for the ones who dont see the japanese trailer.

At this rate the PV 02 is going to be shown when the Japanese version of P5 is already released lol.

And 10 days not ... like kenjiglove says that shit leaks before the 25 , and thanks to the timezone we can have that trailer leaked the 24th or 23th hopefully.

I can wait longer for new footage, I just see this being a missed opportunity. If you want to broaden Western appeal, then why skip E3?

I guess a lot of people haven't seen the first trailer yet, but I hope they do a bit more to get people hyped up. Like a release date/window.

I guess it's because possibilities were suspended in the air, but now the Blu-ray news when we're less than 24 hours away from the moment of judgement has driven everything to chaos.

I'd still be fine if PV01 was shown on the Sony stage, because that's still Persona 5 representation at an E3 conference. It's just that P5's been marketed in a very particular way until now for a game of its renown and sales potential, and that's lead to a lot of doubt and confusion.

I just wonder if when I talk about how Persona 5 has the potential to be huge in the West and that it will definitely be Atlus USA's game yet, people at Atlus would read what I type and just laugh at how dumb it is or something. Surely not, right? Their marketing team did state that Persona 5 is "one of THE MOST anticipated RPGs in the world," after all.

Since we got another P5 video, I would like to analyze it like the previous ones, even if it's a three second teaser video. So, let's get to it.

First, let's take a look at the frames in the video.

I don't know what this is, exactly, but from looking at it, it may be the Persona 5 logo animation, due to the spiral. The logo spiral has an animation in PV#01, as seen below, that may be what this is.

Now, let's move on to the next frame.

From looking closely, this is most likely the Phantom breaking into the first dungeon for the first time. You can see flowers, the staircase, and a layout that fits that of an entrance. Also notice that the black figure has a cape, as well.

However, there are plants here that did not seem to appear in PV#01, although a bush with red roses does appear.

Now, to the next frame.

In this frame, you can see a young woman looking towards something or someone. She seems to have light brown hair, from what can be seen. She could be Anne/Anzu, or someone completely different. I assume she is most likely important to the game, due to her getting a spot here in this small teaser.

To the next frame.

Here, we can make out the shape of a young man with what appears to be blonde hair, and eyes that are green. This is most likely Ryuji. Why is he crying out in pain, though? I believe it may be his reaction to awakening to his Persona, or something specific happening in the dungeon that is similar.

Now, to the next frame.

I'm going to be honest here. I can't decipher what exactly is being portrayed in this frame. Adjusting the brightness, contrast, and other settings did nothing to help. However, looking closely, it appears to be two figures standing side by side obstructed by the film grain. Sadly, there is no way to confirm this.

Now, to the next frame.

Here, we can see what appears to be a dark blue background, similar to the color of the Velvet Room. You can also see a mix of other colors on the left, which are probably structures and other sorts of things. However, I don't think this is the Velvet Room. On the bottom right, you can see what appears to be a checkered tiled floor, and there's really no figure or anything that would suggest the Velvet Room.

Now, to the last frame (the one after this is the Phantom jumping out of the casino)

Here, we can clearly see two figures in matching outfits standing near each other. Both have a cautious or sneaky stance (think that of a thief) and are examining an object. Could this be something you have to steal to leave the dungeon, or is there something to this object? None of the figures seem to resemble any characters, especially outfit-wise. There is no cape, or anything that seems to suggest that one of them is the Phantom. It also seems to be that there is a purple glow coming from the object.

Now, here's what I think PV#02 will entail. Please remember that this is just speculation, and that I am not claiming any of this will actually happen.

I think the trailer will be a little over three minutes, and showcase the voice acting of the game, more gameplay with menus (such as a battle), major story parts that are non-spoilers, but set the basis of the game. I also think we'll hear a new track, and maybe a glimpse of the vocal theme. At the end, I feel the release date will be revealed, and will be October 15, 2015.

So, why do I expect these things? First, most second PVs from ATLUS, such as the EOU2 one featured much more than the first, which contained small menu and battle snippets, voice acting, cutscenes, etc. Most also have a release date, unless the game was delayed. Four months from June is October, and if you round down the dates, as well as include a date with a "5" in it, October 15 does make sense.

That's all for my analysis. I hope people enjoy reading it. I know it isn't as informative as my other Persona 5 analysis posts, due to it being so short and footage being shadowed by film grain, but I tried my best to make as concise of an analysis as I could.

Yeah, I honestly can't picture them giving an actual, specific release date before Japan even gets one.

...Unless they announce both at the same time tomorrow.../notlikely

Wow you can tell is a woman in that cool ... and we are all know who she is.

No wonder they choose that same frame to promote the teaser trailer in the preview video of the blu ray.

hahahaha.

And about that spiral ... i play the video in slow motion i see like things getting sucked to that .... it can be some portal to the "demons world" or something like that is the first impression that part give me ... but since is so blurred i can take that for sure.

I know is a joke (i hope) but that shot is the clear one is the Ryuji screaming one.... and please Atlus if you want to make a p4 cameo make it of Dojima , Naoto , Chie ... not the fucking bear puns.

And Mystic i love your analisis of the trailer i love to see all that things you say (some gameplay , some VA love , and some vocal music of the game)

And that release date October 15th sounds great and fits with the financial release window report from earlier.

So November 5th sounds fine to America maybe....
-------
This are the kind of cameos i want in P5 make it too obvious but subtle in the same time.

I must have terrible eyesight. I couldn't make out either Teddy or Ryûji in this shot, it was all just a big blur to me. I get how you can see Teddy's face in this if you assume the black spots are his eyes, but what's the argument for Ryûji? Is it supposed to be a portrait shot or one of his whole body?

EDIT: nevermind, I just had to rotate the picture. LOL.

The Sony conference will be on at like 3 am where I live. I just hope I'll wake up to some new screens or trailer to dissect.

I just noticed this now. Apparently, the Persona 5 special Blu-ray has a corrected version of the 2013 teaser. I know that it was corrected for the North American announcement, but this was never done for Japan.

It's nothing too major, but it's pretty interesting and a nice touch. I guess in a way, it makes it more of a "special" Blu-ray, as it contains an alternate version of the original trailer for Japan, at least.

Hello, everybody!

I'm just another huge fan of the Persona series who also happens to be new to NeoGAF as a whole. My account got accepted only a few days ago, and I primarily made it so that I could hopefully be a part of this community. I've been lurking for a while but I've been unable to post until now.

I'm very passionate about the series and I'm incredibly hyped for Persona 5. I'm so stoked that I'm pretty positive that I'll have to import it from the US once it gets released. As a European fan, it's unfortunate that the game will most likely come out at a much later date here, and I simply cannot wait that long!

I'm never good at introduction posts, so I hope this will do. At any rate, I hope that I become a regular here!

Most games don't have any region lock, but it depends. In fact, P4A is the only PS3 game I'm aware of that was locked.

It's not even so much that I can't wait for the game a little longer, but I want to play it alongside a couple of my friends (and most Persona fans I imagine) who will be getting it Day 1. I want to experience it while it's still fresh and while everyone else is playing it for the first time as well. It's not quite the same when you're late to the party, which I actually was for Persona 3 and 4.

I sure hope it won't be region-locked. There's nothing I can do about it in that case!

Thank you!

Simultaneous worldwide release, even Europe, although I think Atlus actively hates us.

I want to believe.

As an Australian fan, I feel your pain over this.

I'm honestly going to hold tight and avoid getting spoiled on Persona 5 as best I can. I'm breaking this rule if there's another round of SMTIV-style delay shenanigans, but the current track record of Atlus games releasing in Europe has improved, so it shouldn't come to that.

If P5 somehow is region locked and the EU release is, yet again, inexplicably late, I will fucking wreck shit
I'd trade in my EU PS3 for a Japanese model if they really announced a region-lock. But there's no logical reason why they should do this, this likely won't be a multilingual game with a simultaneous JP/US that many people would import to save a little money.
