Apparently CEX will give me £30 cash for the Wii U version. Considering I traded in a load of games I got in a sale to buy it, that's not actually too bad.

Might get rid of it whilst I can for that price.

The PS360 port hits Japan on April 4. I'll be surprised if its not announced for the west tomorrow.

You still have SMT x FE though!

Oh, is that the one to get? P4 Design Works keeps popping up in my recommendations on Amazon and I'm thinking I'll take the plunge pretty soon.

Only just saw this. Buy Soejima Artworks. It's my favourite art book across all games. I've looked at it so much that the binding is coming undone and I'm going to have to buy a new copy soon.

P4 Design Works is more an insight into the mind of Soejima than anything else. It's incredibly interesting to see how he perceives the characters and whatnot, but the actual art isn't as good (Because it's mostly sketch work, and lots of pages devoted to the different in-game character expressions art).

Look on the bright side, you'll have Monolith Soft's new awesome RPG to play. :p

Probably won't even play that. I don't play MMOs.

I think the one bright side is that if something comes out at Christmas, I'll be prepared. Assuming that either PS4 or 720 comes out this winter, I'll be buying one of those, and wouldn't be able to afford a Wii U on top of that. Having already bought a Wii U, I won't miss out on anything.

Definitely not my wisest purchase though, haha.

IT'S NOT AN MMO FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!!! :|

I agree with Dantis if you want a fucking amazing-looking artbook. The paper stock is god damn heavy and amazing, the pieces themselves are glorious. Sketches are great and all and that's what you want a design works for, but the Art Works is just... woah-wee. Huge pictures, beautiful art. And a long interview at the back.

No? I thought people were saying it was?

I know nothing about it outside of the launch trailer.

It's also the most recent interview besides Venus Mode, which hasn't been officially translated.

Four players in an optional multiplayer mode does not equal a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER ONLINE game. :p

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going back to listening to Never More's reincarnation version over and over for the feelgoods. >_>;

My interest in it has risen from "Virtually none" to "Mildly interested".

Also, I listen to Meguro in general over and over. I get my money's worth, at least. :p

Agreed. Buy it. Even if you don't think you need it, you need it!

I've barely listened to anything non-Persona music related for the last two months

I don't think I could just listen to video game or Persona music all the time. The rest of my music collection would get jealous.

Do you actually buy the albums? I like to own actual copies of them all.

Checked the other day, I have nine Persona albums. Just missing EP, Arena Arrange and Golden.

I listen to other stuff, just an awful lot of Meguro. When I'm drawing (Which is very, very often) it makes good background music.

it's youtube playlists for me! artbooks first

generally speaking i find japanese cds to be crazy difficult/expensive to obtain when you factor in shipping and shopping and stuff

The only Persona(non-preorder) OST I actually own is Eternal Punishment's.

I'm probably going to order Golden and EP soon. The PSP IS OST is glorious. Six discs (2 disc Original OST and 4 disc New OST), cardboard sleeve and a really high quality booklet. I'm assuming the EP one will be similar.

Having a hard time in P4G getting the fusion accident trophy.

I'm just filling up my Persona list with the cheapest ones I have and fusing them all until I only have one left, rinse and repeat.

I've done this four times now, not to mention I started NG+ with around 70% of the compendium complete.

Not one accident. Is this the RNG playing with me or is there any way I can influence this stuff. I just want my trophy!

Oh, ban-lifted just in time to post about my P2 Marathon (i cleared the last dungeon, only the final bossu left)

I have to say, i kinda grew a new appreciation of EP this time. The first time i played it i liked it, but i was disappointed by several choices (mostly, what they did to Maya and how they used some of IS characters)

Now, after accepting these things (Maya-mute still sucks, but i can live with it), i started to appreciate the game for what it is, rather than expecting a second IS. Baufo and Ulala really grew on me in this playthrough (i always liked Katsuya). Though, the villains still suck i guess. I mean, they are better than what they did with 3 and 4, and
JOKER and Nyarlathotep
are awesome, but the
NWO
really didn't fly with me. IS villains were much, much better and i liked how everything came in full circle. The
NWO
was kinda... just there?

Also, the gameplay and BS have nothing wrong, just like how i remembered.

Use stuff closer to your level, but not stuff that's top-rank in it's arcana.

I always seem to have trouble with stuff like this, but for example Hardcore Risette Fan just popped for me without having to do anything crazy.

That's probably the worst one, you have no method (beyond going down a list) of knowing how close you are. The fact that it could potentially dictate another playthrough also makes it particularly nasty. So glad I got it too.

I'll give that a try. I'm around level 40 in my NG+ right now. Thanks.

Also one more tip cuz I just looked it up. Apparently the rate of fusion accidents is more common if you do triangle spreads fusions. 1/32 chance in contrast to a 1/64 chance for normal fusions. It can't happen at all for special fusions too, so keep that in mind.

Wait......So the entire P2 Cast=Wild card users?

Not necessarily; the P1/2 cast were still tied to dominant arcana. They could still switch to use any/most personae (albeit, with some severe SP penalties for "incompatible" arcana), but that was more due to how their powers were directly awakened by Philemon (as opposed to persona users seen in P3/4).

Everyone in P2 could see the Velvet Room, hell, even some artists and even before meeting Philemon. (If you talk with the party members, they all mention how they always saw that weird blue door, but they never went in)

I think people are reading too much into the mythology honestly, the Persona universe isn't well thought at all as a result of going through many writers (and directions) and P2/3-4 connections often feel weird or forced.

You bought a Wii U?

I traded my Xbox 360 for it. It gets slightly more use than that console did. The original plan was to trade my 360 and a bunch of games in for Steam credit when GAME were offering 33% extra on it, but the guy was all, "We have a Wii U Premium in stock and are offering an extra 50% on console trade-ins. It'll only cost you £60 and come with Sonic All-Stars and Nintendoland after your trade in is deducted."

I couldn't resist new hardware, so it was a done deal.

Well then , that's settled.

You guys have sold me on Soejima's art book.

It's the right decision.

Have you used yours much?

In the sense that "being able to visit the Velvet Room and change Personas on a whim was never a big deal until P3 decided it meant you were the specialist snowflake", yes.

One of the worst decisions they made in modern Persona. In old Persona, you were the team leader not due to being special, but because you took charge and took up the mantle of being leader. If the leader fell in battle, guess what, the other guys could continue fighting and revive the leader and such. None of this OH NO OUR LEADER IS DEAD NO NO NO NO NO NO NOENGOE NIOGEKNGIO EEEEDEATH IS A HUNTER bullshit. Everyone was able to switch their Personae, thus leading to much more team diversity and development. There was still story Personae they used though. The whole team could enter the velvet room. Now its all SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE. Ugh.

Well, I beat the World Tour mode of Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed, and I finished the final boss of New Super Mario Bros. U. Nintendo Land was interesting for 5-10 minutes, and I have Zombi U on my backlog now. I also picked up The Cave, just so I could have something to play on the system, only to discover (much to my disappointment) that it doesn't use the GamePad in a meaningful way and also doesn't support off-screen play.

But yeah, I've used it a bit. I'll probably use it some more going forward. It's certainly getting more use than my 360 did since 2010 (when I boxed it up and stopped using it at all), so in that respect it hasn't been a complete waste of money. But yeah, until the good stuff arrives (which is when?) I'm not really feeling this system in a major way. I suppose I could give MonHun a whirl if I had people to co-op with. Not soloing that game.
