Got 2 Mongolian gerbils a week ago. They are only 6 weeks old, but super cute and incredible soft, and very curious.

What breed is this dog, I want a brother for my black lab. After two years, he still acts like a 8 week old puppy. He needs to sima down and another dog might do it.

Do you know what breed this is?

It looks mixed, but I can see the traditional Japanese breeds.

The way it's sitting, and it's ears, it definitely reminds me of our Shiba Inus, especially the male.

So fwaffy *-*

yeah he's incredibly soft! he has tons of super thick fur since he's a siberian, and his paws are like huge fluffy snowshoes. so fun to cuddle.

damn you have beautifull cats!!

thanks! your cat is adorable too, she looks amazing for 17 years old! :)

i always liked cats (and love animals in general) but i always considered myself a "dog person" until i got my two cats. i don't think any animals have ever made me laugh so much -- my cats are a really comical pair.

the bizarre part is that yoshi, he really acts like a dog! he begs for ALL food, plays fetch, whines at the door, and even makes barking-like noises sometimes. i always say that he's a dog trapped in a cat's body.

Here's my Fiona, giving her usual look of disgust towards any toy I try to get her to play with...

Just got her about a month ago... ^_^

My brother has a Shiba Inu who likes to terrorize my Husky. Which is funny because my Husky like to do the same shit to our fat Yellow Lab.

We have two Shibas & we watch our friend's Shiba (which is our male's brother) every day, so they "terrorize" each other, but they enjoy it so much, that it's either an all-around win or all-around fail.

They stalk each other and pounce each other. Then the brothers hump each other's faces. Then they all do the Shiba-500 around & on the couch. Normal dogs don't know how to react to the madness.

haha, just after i posted that i sat down to watch some TV, and i was eating potato chips. he came and begged for them so i gave him one -- and he ate it! paprika flavour!

such a weird cat.

For some reason I figured more GAF would have birds. I want a pet soon since it's just me living in my condo. I brought over my mom's cat after we came home from evacuating for Gustav, but a lot of my friends are allergic and wouldn't come over so I had to bring her back to my mom...those assholes. Anyways, I'm probably going the dog route and I'll post pics whenever I pick one up.

I have 2 betta fish at work (separated by a barrier so they can't see each other). They jump for there food every time. But I also have some clear tubes in there that they love to swim in :D I have a vertical tube that sticks out of the water so I just drop food in there and they swim up and eat it, so fun.

My 5 year old Lab Amber and her puppy friend (her head isn't really that big it's a bad pic). I love it when puppies have huge feet.

I'll try take some better pics later

I have three dogs.
First is Kane, a purebred red Doberman. He's the biggest baby in the world
Next is Indy, which is short for his full name: Indiana Jones. Yes, we named him after the dog :D . He's a black lab/chow/St. Bernard mutt.
And the last is Rex, my oldest at 12 (He'll turn 13 on Dec. 23rd). He is a black lab/newfie mix that the cops found running around outside my local Kmart in 1996 when he was a year old.

I miss them all, and Rex especially, when I'm at college.

OK question cat owners!!!

I just bought my girlfriend a kitty for Christmas(early, I know) and its a first for both of us, but the thing is scared of my dog(look at post above). The cat(pics coming soon) is the size of my hand, and 2 months old. Everytime my dog goes near it, it hisses and trys to claw it. My dog is just like "meh" and doesnt do anything back.

Also, when we bring the cat to play with its sister and brother(friends bought them) it does the same thing(but the other two play with no problem).

How do I make a cat more sociable?

Cats do that normally. If they're uncomfortable with a situation, they'll do that. The more they are exposed to a situation the more they will be used to it. Not all cats will become social butterflies, though.

I want a Welsh Corgi but I've never owned a dog before and I live in a 2 bedroom apartment. Are they good first time dogs that are small enough for an apartment? What's the best way to get a purebred dog and what should I look out for?

i hear Corgi's are very active so if you are a lazy person they might not be the best for you.

Beldoron Zimexis of Fadeout (don't blame me, blame the breeder :lol )
iamdeaabp.jpg

He's a Norwegian Forest Cat. Kind of a Garfield type cat. Lethargy would have been his middle name if there'd been room for any. Sheds fur all over the place though. Ever since I moved in with my G/F (and became his step-master) I've had to stop wearing black :lol

As you can see, she's a tad crazy. I think she might be bipolar, or at least have the cat equivalent of ADHD :p She goes from super cuddly to super crazy in a split second. Might acredit that to her being only 3 years old, but she was found in a ditch only a few weeks old (but was housebroken when the woman who found her took her in). Read, some assholes should never get pets in the first place. I'm thinking it left some traces on her personality, but she's one hell of a cat. We don't really know what she is since she was a foundling, but Beldoron's breeder figured she had to be at least part Norwegian.

On a side note, Alyosha is one hell of a cat as well. Might have to look into siberians for our next one. We were thinking either NFC or Maine Coon, but those look really awesome. Any perks/defects with that breed? We were lucky that our NFC was one of the very first batches our breeder started with, so while he's sub-par from a "racial features"-point of view, he doesn't have any of the defects associated with over-breeding (mainly back issues for this breed).
