Do u have any doubts about that yet?If it is a marketing stunt, Xbox leadership is even dumber than I thought.

On a serious note, if only Xbox fans had listened to us when we kept warning them that this would happen.
Bro, you have been literally waiting and hoping for Xbox to fail. Let's not pretend otherwise. Even now most of the discussions happening here are based on rumors that have been extrapolated to death.
Try to think at all the sales MS would have lost if they had not make this model. It is smaller, simpler to manufacture, and more importantly : it is available. A ton of people have been buying this console, sometimes for the sole reason that it is the only one available, but overall, because it offers so much for the price.
Sony would have liked to be in this situation, you can be sure of it. MS were very smart to make such a model, it shows how they anticipated the market years in advance.
I use a UK deals website (HotUKDeals)
And who do I come across?
Our boy from lancaster. Fighting the good fight wherever possible.

If someone makes a hype-trainwreck I'll put it in the opening post.Hypetrain, iam all in.
That would be the dumbest marketing stunt ever in the history of dumb marketing stunt. He says we are listening and hear u on his tweet. All info came from xbox fanboys on X or sites linked to Xbox. And now they will have an event with Geoff next week? Yeah I still think this is a marketing trap.
They will not drop hardware. There will be fake promises how much the console means to them and how it will remain the centerpiece and the best place to play Xbox games.Seems like the leaks have caught them a bit by surprise otherwise they would be ready to try to clear the message given all the damage this trainwreck is creating.
Looking forward to see their third party software strategy. I guess that eventually all their games will be multiplatform but they'll still try to keep a few as timed exclusives.
They won't drop the hardware obviously, it doesn't make any sense, it would ruin their relationships with other publishers and it would close their way to sell their software with the highest possible margin.
And obviously PR-wise they'll try to spin it as a necessary step for victory loool.
They will not drop hardware. There will be fake promises how much the console means to them and how it will remain the centerpiece and the best place to play Xbox games.
But the reality is that they will be squeezed out of the console market in a heartbeat. As I have been saying for months and months now, Xbox Series X|S are the last traditional, under-the-TV, high-end Microsoft consoles ever. There won't be another.
It's wait on purpose. This is out of control and shouldn't wait for next week

Of course with hardware as *the* platform they're done, it's over.
Their future hardware is to be intended as a Microsoft branded gaming line. Like the companies making all the Steamdeck clones to play PC games.
don't you mean bleeding edgeIncoming partnership with Aldi confirmed. God, the Xbox division are cutting edge..
Probably cracked it from "Chomping at the bit" to play all those Exclusives..Nice half a tooth bro

Christ is it at all possible to get a "console spokesman" to not look like something that crawled out of the specimen box?
This is one of those things that if it was not real... could be easily dismissed. You know, with a single tweet post. All it would have taken was Phil to pick up his phone and...... oh... sorry. My bad. He already did that. Said he hears us. Whatever the fuck that means.Seems like the leaks have caught them a bit by surprise otherwise they would be ready to try to clear the message given all the damage this trainwreck is creating.

Oh look, the usual "search for history, pick a post and make it out of context". What point are you even trying to make to begin with ? Admitting that Series S was a good choice and that Game Pass makes money is possible without being a fan of either. This is simply called being unbiased. Sorry but I don't care much about the future of Xbox. This is only a video-game console you know... They have been providing decent gaming boxes for third party games and this is all I ever was interested in.Discussions surrounding their 2 SKU's, in particular surrounding the impact of the Series S. Discussions about gamepass and it's long term viability. You've been there and people have been trying to tell you the reality of the situation but you never wanted to hear it.
Now you want to lash out and try and pretend you don't care about any of this? Makes no sense.
Which is why they won't be back and people need to stop psyching themselves out about it.Everyone will win if MS goes multiplat. But I'm worried that "arrogant Sony" will be back. They would be stupid to be arrogant tho.

From 3rd place to 3rd partySince Xbox One the Xbox brand has been in decline.
Going 3rd party was inevitable.

What really cracks me up is when you guys say things like "We told you bros, you should have listened to us.". WTF are you smoking guys ? Can you be even more pretentious ? Why should we even care about things changing and hoping that they won't ? You guys pretend waaay too much to be concerned about the well-being of a company and consumers you are constantly criticizing here. Sounds like an unhealthy obsession.
As far as I am concerned, Xbox can disappear or whatever... I will simply look at the story unfold, because this is what is really interesting in all of this. How the market evolves. And don't worry, I won't be the guy telling "You should have listened to us lol !" when Sony will raise game prices to 100$.
What matters to me is that they still make consoles and allow for physical games. Never had much interest for Game Pass and first party games.
Series S and Game Pass![]()
Wow... How can someone find Game Pass uninteresting is beyond me.
Game Pass is very good. A lot of great games to discover.
Not talking about GHG here, because he usually is very balanced with his posts. But the rest? Oooff. Celebrating like their team won the "game" and calling people sheep etc. etc.Oh look, the usual "search for history, pick a post and make it out of context". More cherry picking. I picked Game Pass because it was cheap for 3 years, and I have never liked subscriptions overall. All of which can be found in my post history as well. Strangely enough you didn't find these !It's not out of context, that's a discussion you were having with me, the post I quoted of yours links right back to the thread. It's there for everyone to see.
After spending years defending shit decision/product after shit decision/product from them you suddenly don't care if they "disappear or whatever"? Why not just be honest and say you got it wrong and that in doing so you, as one of their customers, failed to give them relevant and necessary feedback at times when they needed it? Now you want to pretend you don't care much:
Which is even more pretence:
Stop the bullshit and just take it on the chin.
And, good luck hoping and dreaming for $100 games, any day now. But if it happens please, do prompt me to talk about it. I'll gladly admit I've got something wrong rather than lie to myself, dig my head in the sand and lash out at other people.
Nah, it started around 2009Since Xbox One the Xbox brand has been in decline.
Going 3rd party was inevitable.
70% of an extra several million copies they would have never sold to begin with seems like a pretty good deal to meNew business plan outed....

And again Series S and Game Pass are perfectly fine, doesn't mean I have a passion for them.
Yeah 70% of something is better than 100% of nothing.70% of an extra several million copies they would have never sold to begin with seems like a pretty good deal to me
Deleted my credit card from the MS store. Guess I'll probably not be buying any games for the next several months or rest of the year. Have a large backlog. Plan is to set aside $200 a month and get a gaming PC before the end of the year. I've got GP until 2026 so I guess I'll have whatever comes on that coming in new. The real downside is going to be rebuilding my library after that, but I expect that will take a decade. Xbox will stay hooked up for that reason. If I get too bored I might try Gamefly for my PS5 for Dragon's Dogma / Stella Blade, but I'm not buying any more console games that aren't Nintendo 1st party.
I have 672 Xbox games. Even if every game is $5 that's over $3000. Tons of those were not $5, they were $70. But yes, I'm counting on cheap games and preservation making it worth the stiff upfront hardware cost. You can get most older games for next to nothing on PC via 3rd party stores:
