Just buying the game on PS5 vs buying a whole new console for playing CoD on GP

I dont know how anyone thinks that is going to happen

It's not. The people who already have an Xbox and GamePass will love it, nobody with a Playstation will drop hundreds of dollars just to get CoD on subscription, and it won't shift the fucking needle one bit. GamePass will continue to stagnate, and they'll lose hundreds of millions on CoD. Utterly ridiculous position they've painted themselves into trying desperately to push a subscription based future.

Even that is potentially debateable. Those old machines still in use can still have owners spending good money on games and mtx because they still get support and run most of biggest games in some fashion. Failure to upgrade already doesn't mean they left market and cross gen just doesn't end this time.

The bolded is such an underrated point that literally NOBODY makes. This idea that people playing on the PS4 shouldn't be counted as console gamers has me wanting to punch walls LOL! Why are media members so dumb?
