When you saw 'em in Denver, was the crowd wild? For some reason I don't see the Pixies as a mosh pit band. I hope not, I'm not really in the mood for it.

They were going pretty crazy but there was no mosh. The ground floor was full with teenagers and young 20-ish types while the stands had a lot of middle agers.

Shit! I take it back! Kim was hot! Frank was "wearing eye liner." :lol AMAZING concert. Started off with Kim singing "In Heaven" which lead to "Wave of Mutilation - UK Surf" (slower version) and gradually picked up, reaching its climax (imo) at Debaser (my favorite Pixies song). Gigantic was notibly awesome live, as was Vamos. Every song was performed perfectly, and lead seamlessly into the next. Their on-stage antics were really entertaining. I was third from the front. SO cool. The Datsuns opened, and they were awesome. I'm listening to some of their stuff online right now. It's alright, but they were really great live. Ah, what a concert. I'm tempted to go tomorrow, too. My room mate has a ticket she's trying to get rid of, so maybe....

I noticed But they were really really good live. Everything came together to form a really full sound. Their recorded stuff seems like it's missing half the song.

Oh man, I love Cheapo. I live pretty close to uptown (46 & Bryant, across from Java Jack's), so I'll catch the bus up there all the time. They're open 'till midnight :rock

I saw 'em a few weeks ago in Columbus. Pretty good except for the sound set up. Played pretty much everything except Bam-Thwock.

So, how was it?

'Twas a good time! I'm not familiar with all of their music, to be honest, I mostly only know Surfer Rosa, a bit of Doolittle and the occasional other song. They played really well, but I didn't enjoy myself until about half-way through the set, when Black Francis picked up the accoustic guitar-- he seemed to be having more fun, then, and they looked more like a band, than just a bunch of people playing together. Overall it was really kickass, and I wish I'd had money to pick up the DiscLive, ah well. I'd go again!

I still hate the venue, though.

Sounds like they started again recently! I think the whole idea is pretty cool, but $25 is a tad steep for me.

Awesome! I love the DiscLive concept, even if it is a little expensive. Wish they had it going on while they were in Los Angeles.
