How do y'all who play duos handle playing with like a close friend or SO? I've been playing with some friends and SO, and I'm probably better at the game than they are significantly, but I still want to play duo with them. That being said, I feel bad when they often die early to mid game, and I'm left to close out the rest of the game. I can they're not really interested in the game once they're dead. I don't want to make them uninterested and waste their time, but I also want to win duo games.

With my friends it matters on how early our deaths were. If it was at the very start we usually hunt down the people who killed them looking for a death wish. If it's gone past the very early game then we keep going.

When a teammate dies I stop looting and go hunting, that's fun to play and fun to watch. Never leave early, go down swinging!

With my friend we just judge based on where the match is at. If its before 1st or second circle move, person alive just quits. 3 circle moves onwards and we play it out, the other player spectates and helps with pointing out targets.

If my friends in Duo or Squads die early, I make it my mission to ruin the people who killed thems game as well. So either I also die fast, or I kill them and after i kill them I quit out.

Unless it's down to around 30 people and I feel good about my chances, I would leave.

I play with my gf a lot and I'm definitely better than her (though she can hold her own alright) and we just incorporate that into how we play. If one of us needs to make an aggressive play when the other is in an overwatch position, I'll be the aggressor while she keeps watch. I try to make sure she gets guns she's comfortable with even if it means I have crapper guns, too, because I'm more comfortable using the entire suite of guns.

In terms of dying early, we both just accept beforehand that the one who is left alive should get to play until they die naturally. Neither of us mind spectating, so it works out.

if its early on in the game, ill usually try to find their killers and hopefully kill them, and then will leave. if theres like under30 people left, ill stay in. same applies to squad matches. no point in playing the whole rest of the game alone when its just for fun and its still early on.

If it's early game (like more than 40 left), I'll usually find a way to off myself so we can start over.

Try not to be competitive. Play for fun. Try challenge games like SMGs only, or Pistols only. Things like that can spice up the fun-factor and still serve to teach the basics.

Too many replies to respond too individually, but thanks for the replies everyone. This is some great advice for the future.

Oh heck yeah. We have a code that if anyone dies early game, we just go hunting and play very aggressive expecting to die. If it is late game, we just play it out. Because we all know how it sucks to just sit there waiting around.

Same as the others and in squad mode. I will avenge my friend or die trying. If it's early in the match.

why is the new gun only in crates.....why do they keep doing that

I believe they did this to balance the amount of crate guns that use the 7.62 ammo type vs 5.56 ammo? This new one uses 5.56 ammo iirc and all the other crate guns (snipers) use 7.62 ammo. I might be wrong on that though.

why is the new gun only in crates.....why do they keep doing that

There were too few crate weapons before, so they're filling out the options now. Especially since they originally intended for the VSS to be a crate weapon but it didn't hold up as one.

That said I think the crate possibilities are in a pretty healthy place now, so I hope they add more regular spawns next.

So people would actually go and fight over them, I guess.

I'm still puzzled why to even add Mk14 in first place when game already has SKS and now they are adding front rails to SKS that were Mk14's only advantage? Doing some stats juicing and suddenly same caliber between two rifles makes more damage when shot from another one?

I wish they made it so that every crate weapon had low % probability of spawning into the world. Would spice up games weapon pool as you could get lucky and score e.g. Groza instead of AK47. Same time remove K98 from crates, maybe Tommy too, so suicide runs are always 100% rewarding and give you some hard hitter.

Like the other user suggested try to find a way to get your self killed if you're seeing that you get into situations like this often.

I have a core group I play with, we're careful as a motherfucker, camp in houses. Don't move, scout hard early and camp the rest.

My best friend in duo is literally like
"Yo we should fucking rush over this bald ass mountain and rush these dudes holed in in that house"
"Yo, let me drive through this corn field in a buggy on the second to last circle, oh fuck we flipped"
"Yo, I'ma shoot that dude on the hill top 3 miles out with this uzi"

Duo with him is basically one big shitpost to see how long it takes for us to get shot running in a field.
I got one of my friends from the group to join us on a three man and that dude got run over by a boat because my friend thought it'd be cool to swim across a lake.

Agreed. It would be an incredible find to find an AWM tucked away in an attic somewhere.

maybe then id a ctually get to use the AWM, M24, Groza, or M14. 100+ hours and have never actually gotten to use most of the crate weapons.

Duo friend sounds way more fun

when i am playing duos its basically just like

friend dies in top 100-80, attempt to kill the person/group that did it and quit out
friend dies in the top 80-40, just go try and murder as many people as possible as aggressively as possible
friend dies in top 40, try to win

if its a squad game then usually one of the dimwits i play with will refuse to quit out no matter what, so if i die and it isnt the top 30 or so i just tab out and do something else or go get a drink or something

my one squad does this shit. theyre really good at games and great at aiming/shooting in pubg but their strategies are horrible and i tend to keep my mouth shut.

shooting when we won't kill, advancing on people in the opposite direction we have to go, just being too confident in things. just slow it down. we'll take shots when we know we'll kill them. we need to go to the circle, get a spot, then we can worry about those people behind us.

and they wonder why we end up dying in stupid ways....giving away our position. not to sound like a prick but we tend to lose a lot in like top 30 due to this...but my one friend i duo with who plays like me we consistently place top 5, and i tend to place top 10 in solo.
No need to be aggressive when it wont work.

I'm about 50 hours of playtime in and still no chicken dinner. Still having fun with the game tho.

Haven't played a pc shooter this much since Counter-Strike 1.6/Source.

I'm not sure I understand the changes, but it sounds like it'll make the game more fun for me using my steam controller so cool

The beauty of this game is that winning is extremely exciting, but when I lose I've never gotten mad or frustrated.

In Overwatch (which I play a lot of), as much as I love it, if I lose three or so matches I need to stop, or if the team won't work together its very frustrating. Battlegrounds is literally always fun to me.

If you're not even gonna bother reading a post, why bother post at all?
Oh sorry, let me make this more clear. His point was that less people would buy the game because of the loot change, so I made fun of that by playing the part of a consumer. It was a little joke at his expense for saying such a silly thing. Now that we have that squared away, you can stop policing my posts.

Well, at least all hope is not lost. It seems like there's room for feedback here:

If over 70 people left - ITS LUNATIC RAMBO TIME!

Usually you will die in this phase, and its entertaining to watch. If you somehow survive to 30 left while playing like a mad person, then your friends will have to just watch you try to win at that point.

Agreed, this is where you go for those "drive a motorcycle off a cliff and try for the highlight reel" moments.
