PLAYERUNKNOWNS BATTLEGROUNDS Early Access Thread: This Is Battle Royale

Man, I'm so unbelievably bad at close range encounters. I miss every shot and mostly the enemy somehow seems to know where I'm moving/going/shooting at any time. :( Not sure how to improve on that because there's not much room for practising. I see someone near me, shoot him five or six times without killing him. He may even get the chance to reload the weapon while I'm going into defense mode and run for cover. That's a typical close range battle for me, haha.

Sounds cliche but dropping school/military exclusively really does help. If you're not getting down fast enough then focus on your chuting and make sure you're getting the best drops possible. After about a week or so of practice I went from scrambling to even get one pickoff to being able to clean out school with just a shotty or an uzi if thats the only drop I find.

I haven't been following the community that much so tipps like these aren't chliche for me. :) Thanks, I'll try to confront more people directly that way! Btw, I really like the shotgun and got one-shot kills more than a few times in medium range encounters! It's crazy how effective it is...I'm not sure which model I used but it's one of the more classic looking double barrels.

I believe you can kill trade in this game if both bullets where int he air, but that just doesnt happen. Killtrading in online games is not like that, because the latency and tickrate adds several hundred milliseconds of delay between your shots registering. Without mechanics in place to prevent killtrade 90% of all short range duels would end up with both people dying, and it sucks ass.

There is kill trading only when you melee, not when you shoot.

Died last night in the worst way. Had an easy kill on a guy. Start shooting him in the head with my M4. Only 1 bullet fires. He's like "oh... I'm not dead" and kills me.

My gun was on single fire and not full auto :(

Also, the number of gamescom crates for sale has gone up since yesterday and the price keeps going down.

At this point I'll old onto my 5 crates until the price goes so low that I'd prefer to just open them myself. OR... they become so rare that the price shoots up to like $10 a piece and then I sell :)

Unfortunately from what I've seen from other games that have crates, older crates end up losing almost all of their value. Might as well just sell them or open them now and hope for the best.

I don't even know what this graffiti thing is or why it had to be removed.
Some buildings had really clashing logos of e-sports teams, so you'd see TEAM SOLOMID or some bright pink spraypaint or random player faces.

I'd be fine with some sort of unique building decoration for callouts that doesn't clash so much.

You're right, better just add more mictotransactions and throw a bunch of time and resources into a tournament for this clearly e-sports-ready game instead :)
It could be that some employees have skills that relate to doing rendering improvements, and they're working on those, and other employees have skills that relate to running a tournament, and the same employees aren't necessarily having to choose between those two things.

I make no apologies for camping on the top floor of a house behind a door ready to shotgun you as you walk in.

It's helped me towards my chicken dinner and I'd do it again

Anyone know if wins / kills / stats in general today will be tracked? Not that it really matters but I think today is unranked matchmaking and tomorrow kicks off season 4. I'm guessing that means no stats are recorded but I'm not positive.

I have no qualms about anything I do in this game that is within the rules, including hiding underwater and any other tactics some players frown upon. I just want to keep collecting wins by any means necessary.

Damn.. I was hoping to hold on while the supply went down. Maybe I should just sell what I have..

For you.

Don't. The Gamescom crates are limited supply. People are rushing to sell them now but they will start going up eventually. They are not regular crates and won't get devalued like those would

Played random duo last night with some guy with a Russian accent. He was murderous. He was a sight to behold. Racked up 12 kills on his own at the military base.

I tell him, dude, you're a monster.

He says back in broken English: "I know. In Top Fifty Euro"

My group has finally reached the point where we're content to move on to a different game until a new map drops.

LOL shows how much you know

What is PU himself doing going to those conventions when he has weekly updates to compile and release individually??!?

I would be so much better at this game if i didnt physically jump when i get shot while running. Played shooters my whole life but this game actually makes me jump. So irritating when i havent heard a gun shot in 10 mins then when i do i throw my mouse half way across the desk

Wow that's an exact copy of the EOtech Holographic sight. Expensive. I have a generic one since I don't want to spend 5-700 bucks. I've never noticed that in game.

never prone. Only prone if you have defilade on multiple sides
I know, it's just one of those situations where there's no proper cover and I need to heal really quick before I can move on so I take the risk. Like I said in the clip I should've hid on the other side of the car to make it a bit less risky, but hindsight is 20/20 I suppose.

I LOVE the automatic replay feature btw, it works so well. Saves me the trouble of having to remember to hit alt+f10 after something happens.

going prone there was definitely his best option, sometimes you just get a bad break with enemy locations.

Sometimes you have to play the least bad option of all the options available, yeah, and there's no such thing as total safety. Shit can always happen.

So the implication here is either
A) Bluehole have hired a group of employees on their payroll whose only job is to set up and run a tourney and who have absolutely nothing else to contribute to the game or have nothing else left to fix within the game itself

or

B) Running a tournament (and hiring a group of people to do so) was deemed an adequate venture to devote time and funding towards because there was nothing else left to do to expedite improving the game and fixing major bugs.

I'm really curious to know which way you guys were going with that train of thought.

Literally every single crate in every game I've played had this happen. Go look for some of the limited run CSGO crates, they're worthless.

There will be new, better looking cosmetics and no one will want the older shit.

just look at the lifetime charts of these things and tell me them being limited supply resulted in them being worthless

Your B) option seems to assume that funding should only be devoted to one thing when there is nothing left to do on another thing. Isn't that a little silly? I think most businesses fund multiple things simultaneously.
