PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

So apparently Monster Monpiece isn't coming to Australia at all. I'm so fucking mad. I can't seem to find the reason why but I'm guessing it's our archaic ratings board holding it back.

Whatever, I can't even import it because it's digital only.

Seriously, God damn it.
If you want it that badly, you could always make a PSN account in whatever country it is available in.

I prefer the original soundtrack :}
The main thing you hear while flipping pages in the book. With the singing. I think they way overdid that in Delta.

e: this one ("A certain magician's life")

And here's the Delta version. Meh. Downgrade total.

Yeah, the menu music is better in the original. But overall the additions Delta has make the rest of the game so much better than the first, and it's worth the menu music hit .

I probably will when I get my hands on another memory card. But I really shouldn't have to go to these lengths to play a fucking video game in 2014.

anyone using a wrist strap with their Vita?

Yeah buddy!

I don't really need it but I put it on when I was close to impulse throwing my Vita across the room during some of the more frustrating God of War sections and haven't taken it off. I kind of like it but I wish there was a dedicated slot for it to go into rather than around the grey area on the bottom.

nice! those who bought one where did you get it from?
I kinda want a Sony one that is used on the PlayStation Move but they aren't sold :/

I love football manager on the pc can anyone tell me about their experience on the vita and whether the micro text issue makes it unplayable?

So this is actually more an Xbox question, but there are no Xbox community threads. ;-;

Did Ground Zeroes have a mandatory installation on-disc for PS3 as well?

Reason I ask, shortened into quick points:

-Brother-in-law bought Ground Zeroes digitally on 360
-Had no internal harddrive
-Can't play game because of mandatory install

-In asking if he ever bought the game retail, I told him I'd be getting him a retail copy for his birthday

-But upon research there is still a mandatory install?

I know that there are also some low-gig harddrive PS3's out there, so I thought maybe it also applies to PS3 and that... There's a workaround?

Confound it, I shouldn't have told him. This will be the most awkward birthday ever. >_>

Mine came from the starter kit where you get the card case, cleaning cloth and sleeve etc. My guess is they are the same if not very similar to the move ones.

I want to be a bastard and call you out for posting Xbox problems in a Playstation thread but I'll be nice.

But first of all why would he buy a digital game if he doesn't have a hard drive he can install it on?

Anyway there's no workaround. PS3/4 games tell you if there is hard drive space required on the back of the box, I'm sure Xbox games have similar. It's always a good idea to read the requirements before dropping money.

If you have an Xbox, lend him yours, he will only need it for an hour and he will be done.

Xbox Thread

Retail disk on Xbox 360 doesn't need to install to the hard drive. You just need save data space. If you're talking about Xbox One, that does need to install to the hard drive.

A couple questions regarding trails in the sky. Is there no way to heal outside of battle and away from a city aside from food. Like you can't cast spells, find merchants hanging around, ect? Can you ever move then attack like some monsters?

I really wish the PS4 dashboard would allow me to organize the applications instead of it being the most recently used. Someone please tell me I'm doing it wrong.

P4G is getting better and better. I'm about to
rescue Kanji
, so still not that far in but I can't stop playing unless my battery dies. Which it just did. It should be alive again by now. Whee!

That's what I get for not using a Computer. Was on iPod and couldn't search for threads. (Actually you probably can, I just can't find where.)

Well, that's nice to hear./s Why would people even make systems that can't play all games... That's the point of consoles.

To keep things on-topic, P4G is a really good game. Enjoy your first playthrough, you can't get it back! I felt it got way better after
rescuing Kanji
, as the interactions fleshed out so much more. It kept getting better as it went on, and that's not something that happens all the time.

I'm excited to see where the story will go. I accidentally spoiled a little bit for myself while reading the Persona Q impression thread but luckily nothing major. Totally my own fault as well. I shouldn't click on spoiler tags willy nilly.
Off I go into the T.V.!

Eh, lack of foresight, same reason the PSN store sucks so bad. They didn't realize how crippling not having a harddrive could be in the future. And games realized that they could make things better by requiring some files to be installed so they could load from disk/HD simultaneously. As for the PSN store, they didn't realize back in 2005 how important an online store would be in 2014 so now they have the dumb PSN store that has to be manually updated over a variable time, and I'm sure they don't want to risk any more downtime after the hack to completely change things.

As for P4G, I've been playing P3P the past few days, and is it weird that I actually like it better than P4G? I got invested in the story much quicker, thought the start of the game had a better pace, and I like more characters initially. I'm sure that will change once I get to the tedious part though.

Disclaimer: I still love P4G, P3P is just somehow grabbing me even more strongly at the start than P4G did! I'm something like 3 hours in P3P.

Um, I've got the original music pretty much everywhere you got it in vanilla. In fact I think I've only heard the new version once or twice, and can't even find where, right now. Does it sound everywhere for you?

so when are they going to put terraria and mutant mudds up for ps+?

i thought it was this month with the rest but i just checked and it isn't showing.

Personally, I regret the purchase. I've read some users in gaf are really enjoining it and more power to them but for me, it's a clunky experience.

The small text is an issue for sure, I often accidentally selected the wrong option. I also found the loading times to be annoying too. The game really chugs.

I'd have preferred a port of the ios version with the 3D match engine incorporated to be honest. At least that would have made sense for the platform.

PS+ titles on the US were always offered weekly. Next month they'll all be offered at once at the beggining of the month.

For this month we don't know. They already gave three this tuesday. Maybe the rest will the given next week, or maybe one each week. Just wait and they'll come.

Quick Vita question :)

I have the physical US versions of both Dragon's Crown & Muramasa on my Vita.

I've just downloaded the digital EU versions. But unfortunately they've installed as separate applications. Is there anyway to transfer my save data across?

This hasn't previously been a problem, but that was when both the digital/physical versions were from the same region.

Cheers

The only thing I can think of is to upload your save to PS+ from the physical version, then launch the digital version and try to download the save from PS+. If you're lucky, it will count them as the same game and work. I remember someone mentioning this worked for another game, but I'm not sure if different regions would screw it up.

Edit: Not through the game's cross save or anything, but from the Vita system level, by pressing the orange plus on the top right after selecting but before launching the game.

No, the one time I dropped mine was when I twitched while putting it into its carrying case so the strap wouldn't have been on anyway. I'm holding the thing with two hands, that seems secure enough.

Think the only time a wrist strap would come in handy is when out and about. But since I don't play my Vita too much outside of the house, there really isn't a reason to have one on. Maybe if I took public transport often. Train/Bus rides get bumpy.

I don't even have a case on it, lol. The hardware is sturdy enough to feel comfortable without bulk. Something it has the edge on big time over the 3DS/XL.

For Dragon's Crown you can probably use the cross save function. Upload to the cloud from the physical version and then download from the digital version. I think that should work. It works between regions between PS3 and Vita at least.

Hmm. Looking at this with Muramasa, the Online Storage for the card version shows my save with both Upload/Download options. Viewing this for the digital version only shows an upload option for the save generated when I launched the game. No option to download.

I'm guessing the EU and US versions have different ID's or something. So the Vita classes them as different games, making the save incompatible :(

Um ... I don't know, everywhere? Try something like selecting Avalon pacts, reading creature lore. It's the book music, really. I don't actually recall hearing it in Delta without wondering why they redid it. Have to check to confirm, but I'll be off to bed now and won't post again until tomorrow. Sorry!

That worked, thankyou :)

If anyone wants it I did that Sony Video thing and got a 2 week trial for PS plus if you don't already have it and I have no use for it so if you want it just PM me :)
