Toukiden acquired! I've been jonesing a good hunting action (is that really the genre name?) game on Vita. I tried to love Soul Sacrifice but I hate limited-use items and it just wasn't clicking.
Debating on Ni No Kuni - not even for the price, as that's impulse-buy turf, but just knowing I'll almost never have any chance of finishing it. It might be worth five bones just to see it in motion, though. Is it turn-based or active? What's the closest analogue in terms of other JRPGs?
I bought Ni no Kuni for 6 bucks and I didn't like it. I'd say it's semi-active. There are menus (Attack, Defense, Stuff) but everything happens real time. For example, you press attack. Battle freezes, you select a target. Then a clock appears, your minion runs through the enemy and attacks him until the clock is empty. Then you press a command again.
Main problem is that AI is terrible and there aren't enough options for customization. Tales doesn't have the best AI ever, but at least there are a ton of customization options in the strategy menu. The ones in this game aren't enough.
I can't remember if Toukiden has limited use weapons... in the sense that they degrade over time and you have to use items to make them "sharp" again (like Monster Hunter)...
Your weapons doesn't suffer degradation on the Vita.
