PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | March 2014

Just got Lumines from the sale. What else seems like a must-have from the Vita Anniversary/Back to 2013 sale?
and won't go on PS+ within 3 months

FlOw/Flower/Kilzone/Velocity Ultra/Dragon's Crown seem like good candidates

Also, is P4A worth getting now that Ultimax is coming up soon? Would Ultimax have all original P4A content?

I've been playing the Fifa 14 demo on PS4 a lot. Really fun game, and it looks pretty decent to me.

Do these games typically take forever to drop in price?

VLR question:
so I played up to the point where alice and quarks collapse and it cut's off with a "to be continued". In the timeline it says Lock #4, does this mean I have to progress on another route to continue on this route?

I'm having some serious issues, I have an official 64GB card for my Vita from Play-Asia, but often when I 'move' a bubble, the system seems to 'lose' it, where it disappears.

I had a bubble with over six PS+ games in it, and it has simply vanished from my screen, nowhere to be found. The game lets me reinstall the games from the PSN store so I assume they're really gone from the card?

Is this a known issue?

How many apps do you have? The Vita has a 100 app limit so that may be your issue. It's not deleted from the card, it's just not seen. Once you delete another app, the app that disappeared will reappear again.

Yes.

There's a handy flowchart on gfaqs, if you want to plan your playthru.

Thank you for your suggestion! Unfortunately I only have about 40 apps right now, so that shouldn't be the issue. I went and deleted some rabble just now, but the missing bubble and games inside it are still nowhere to be found. :(

Hmm. Try rebuilding or restoring your database.

Do this by turning off your PS Vita. Once it is off, turn it on again while holding the holding the power button + the home button + the R trigger. This should put your Vita in the safe mode. Pick the rebuild database and hope for the best. :D

I've recently replayed PDf 2 on my trusty old PSP and dang it I'm loving it all over again. Maybe the PDf Vita hype is getting to me.

I do have some problems though. I'm used to DJ Max so much that every beat and riffs that the song has is actually in a form of a "note" in the game. I can practically play a whole song without looking much because I memorized the rhythm.

In PDf, I'm having trouble because some of the "notes" are off-beat so I end up pushing the button much earlier than necessary. The fact that some of the "notes" are not completely in sync with the voice or the song is also not helping me. What I mean is that the game can't make up its mind whether to have the "note" at the same time with Miku's voice or with the song's instruments. I need a lot of getting used to the game again. Kinda sucks.

- "Note" is the prompt for pushing the button if anyone got confused.

Yes.

You don't really need it, at least so early in the game. Only when you've seen as much as you can in all routes and are stuck, do you need a guide.
The game can progressed by going through ANY of the paths in the game.

Thank you killatopak, you've been very helpful. That fixed it! Can we be Vitafriends? My PSN is ingueferroque. :p

I'm never using bubble groups again!

You mean Project Diva and Project Diva 2nd for PSP? Can't say I've ever had that problem in PDf Vita.

Of course we can. I will add you immediately. :D

Yes the ones on the PSP.
Can't say I've ever had that problem in PDf Vita.
I hope not!

I'm thinking about buying it day one now since I'm pretty much excited for any rhythm game.

Does anyone have a more accurate PSN ETA for Futuridium on Vita than "soon in 2014"? That game looks and sounds stunning!

Slightly off topic, any other UK Vita fans here (other than the banned-but-not-forgotten legend that is SmokeyDave)? I'm hoping to add more Vita friends with whom I share a timezone. My PSN name is "OldBritBloke", and if the Borderlands 2 port is anything better than dreadful then I'll be all over it :)

Hmm I seem to have bought Dragons Crown last night for Vita during my drunk state. I am ok with this.

I'm waiting for a sale (EU), but since that never happens I might as well just get drunk and get it over with too

thanks! will go w/o the flowchart. from what I can say the game is amazing, just wish they would have kept the drawn sprites from 999, just imagine them on the oled.

Yeah, same here. I was a bit disappointed that they went with 3D models. I think they thought they needed 3D models to look good on 3DS, but we now know that sprites look really nice in 3D too. :P

It'll be really nice if they can get back to 2D if ever the 3rd one gets released.

I can see that you're not hyped about Second Son at all

If I had a PS4 right now, I would have been talking about it here non-stop. Alas I don't so I'm keeping my hype levels at an adequate level.

Maybe I'll change the hair to blue if my PDf hype level keeps rising.

Welcome to the hyped for Second Son without a PS4 and hyped for PDf club :D

Drop drop drop.

  • Awesomenauts Assemble! (PS4) - If you played the original Awesomenauts (2012) on the PS3, then you probably know what's up here. Using a 2D side-scroller framework, you and two allies play against three others in a battle arena. I found the original to be not a whole lot of fun, but I have friends who really enjoyed it. I can imagine with the right group, it's a ton of fun in the local split-screen mode. I haven't been following it, but all the mention that it has of items and upgrades makes me wonder if it's an IAP-focused game. Digital only. (Not interested.)
  • Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition (PS4) - If you played the original Dead Nation (2010) on the PS3 then you probably know what's up here. Using a 3/4 view perspective, you and a friend shoot your way through hordes of zombies. The lighting and sheer numbers of zombies are quite impressive on the PS3, and I'm expecting something similar on the PS4. Also, if you have PS+, then you GET IT FOR FREE. If you don't have PS+, then you'll probably have to pay $20-$30. (I haven't seen a price yet. But the original is still $15.) Digital only. (Interested, but then I'm getting it for free.)
  • Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA f (PSV) - This is the latest entry in a rhythm game series that, prior to the PS3 release of this same game last year, was only published in Japan. The PSV version will use the touchscreen for some inputs and has much of the same content as the PS3 version, but I'm not sure if it will be completed with DLC in the U.S. (No reason not to, but companies are weird about stuff sometimes.) As you might imagine, being mostly a Western-focused gamer, this isn't really my cup of tea but the regulars here in this thread surely can chime in with their thoughts. Digital only. (Not interested.)
  • Master Reboot (PS3) - This appears to be a first-person psychological horror adventure game set in cyberspace and virtual environments. It was originally slated to appear on the Wii U, but I haven't found evidence that it has actually released on that system. It is out for PC and Mac, I think. Reviews are kind of middlin'. Digital only. (Not interested.)
  • South Park: The Stick of Truth (PS3) - Written by Stone and Parker, of the original TV show, this turn-based RPG will no doubt sport the same caustic sense of humor. It's also by the same devs who did Fallout: New Vegas and KOTOR2, so it shouldn't just be a slapped-together-licensed-RPG. But we'll see. This is a digital and retail release. (Not interested, but I can see why many others would be.)
  • NASCAR '14 (PS3) - There hasn't been a console NASCAR game since November 2012, about 16 months ago. This is the digital release of the retail game that came out about two weeks ago. There are only three reviews of the Xbox 360 version on Metacritic (all around 70%), and a single separate PS3 review, so it's kind of difficult to size this one up beforehand. At retail, it's going for $50, but if Deep Silver knows what's up, they'll price it cheaper online. (Not interested. I don't care about NASCAR in real life, and I surely don't care about the video game.)
  • Growlanser: Heritage of War (PS3) - This 2007-era PS2 classic (we get one every week now!) was known as Growlanswer V: Generation in Japan and is the fifth game in a series that in 15 years has spanned the PS1, PS2, and PSP. This is the first Growlanser game on the PS3, by virtue of PS2 emulation. Anyway, the series is a tactical RPG set in a fantasy world "being taken over by an ancient evil". (Not interested.)

Nothing for me this week, except the PS4 version of Dead Nation.

Also: DO NOT BUY PAC-MAN MUSEUM FOR PS3. What a turd. :(

Nothing for me this week, I guess, unless there's some DLC. Forgot I was getting $6 credit... should have waited to use it on last Tuesday's purchases. Maybe something like Luftrausers will be out this month for me to spend it on.

So. Email at 6am. £30 added to my wallet. Loads of Fifa 14 crap bought. What. Is Sony Customer Support open on Sundays?

I'm kinda scared of leaving funds on my wallet now because of this. They may use it for Fifa crap. This has been prevalent in XBL and PSN and Fifa.

More like solution: Stop playing Fifa.

Got Fifa hacked from trying that demo of the "Fifa Street" PS3 version online.

Never again.

@JVM: Paying $5 more for Dead Nation... *shakes head* I see no mention if it being cross-buy which is supremely disappointing.

can you not play ps1 games on ps4?

Nope. The only way the PS3 could do it is either by HW emulation or SW emulation. The PS4 doesn't have these yet. They could either they do a FW update specifically for SW emulation or just do it by PS Now.
I don't play Fifa :P hence why the purchase of 3000 FIfa Points makes no sense.

The hackers could just log in to your account using their PS3 and pop in a Fifa 14 disc and buy it there.

Has anyone encountered a bug where you can't view your screenshots on the PS4?

I just took a bunch of them in Flower, but when I go to view them and enlarge them, I just get a black screen and the "Information" prompt.

EDIT: Yeah, doing this for all my games screenshots now. I don't get why this happens sometimes.

Anyone?

So i'm sure this has been asked but with EBGames asking $69.99 for new games, will PSN follow suit or will I be able to get games for $60?

There's no known fix. I personally think it's a memory leak situation since my PS3 sometimes crashes after about 5 previews.
Damn. You'd hope they have some way of tracking the system, but I doubt it. Just want my money back, got a £30 hole in my account at the worst time of the month for it :\
Haven't been following your convo. I don't even know if you actually got hacked. But call Sony is always the fastest way to get money back. And apparently they don't put up any fuss whatsoever.
Is there a 10% discount for PS4 digital day one pre orders? I thought I read that is the case, but I can't find confirmation... wanted to pre order inFAMOUS

Yes, yes you can! It's really incredible. I don't know if having the vita game open affects the performance of remote play, but it definitely works.

Hot damn. I saw Yosp retweet something about it, yet I've never seen anyone mention it.

Hopefully, by the time they start chugging out games I like on PS4, I'd have saved up enough for one.

I do it everyday when i just want to log into warframe so i get my login bonus and then i go right back to playing my vita game

That really sucks Masterballs, so did they guess your account password or something?

Really wish South Park was on Vita. Might have to repair the PS3 and get in on that.

A repost for the new page since Shahid replied (at the bottom of my post)

Novocaine previously mentioned this in the Feb thread so I thought I should make another post here

The Next Penelope looks like "a mix of Velocity Ultra and FZero"
The dev seems pretty keen on bringing it to other platforms

Talking to the dev @AurelRegard on Twitter, he seems pretty keen to get the game on the Vita

Brilliant!

And with Shahid on it, sleep safe folks.

Vita has F-Zero.

That really sucks Masterballs, so did they guess your account password or something?

It's relatively easy for someone to get hacked once you know his real identity.

For example, Boy A uses a Facebook account and have all the details filled up on his home page. They could easily guess some passwords in that or even use your details on the forget password function of any website. Sure, they have to send that to your email but if your email is already compromised then it gets easier.

General Tip: Always use a different password on every account or at least a different password for those that use your CC and cash.

I'm in the UK too, will add a few of your ids now. I think we'll be hearing about Futuridium more "soon" from what they said last about it.

I should be okay, thanks for the tips though, lotta scumbags.
