I picked up GoW: Collection on Vita yesterday.

Very good, solid port. Definitely worth the $29 if you don't currently own any GoW games for any console.

Sh*ts about to get really real this month, didn't realize I'm about to get floored by a handful of games this month: ssd, wd, and transistor??/New vita version....hot damn gaffers, hot damn indeed

I missed this:

I made it to match this. The ugly left-aligned text is like that for consistency reasons. =P

It's a nice homage and an accurate adaptation, but we gotta step up our game! ;)

This month is all fun and games!
unless you're paying for everything this month. Credit card charging only next month for me.

Just got done with the second dungeon of yS: MOC. Such a fun game, I'm so glad I was able to pick this up for only 20$. I gotta play yS: Seven some day now, I'm really enjoying the many different playable characters in this game. Feels a bit different because of the many characters but it's still the same yS I know and love! :D

That game was funny to me, they managed to make 5 characters who I enjoyed playing as, were interesting, had fun special moves, and had stories and backgrounds that I cared reasonably about. Then they made Ozma. It is incredible how I hated the slow and clunky way he played while being simultaneously apathetic about his story and finding his personality and even character design to be pretty blah. I guess it is better than mixing the bad traits among the characters, they got it all out with one!

New PS4 owner here and I have a few questions. I hope this is the right thread!

1. Do I always need to have a credit card on file for PS+? Or if I buy the cards is that sufficient?

1a. I'm currently in my 14-day trial but I got a 7-day trial with FIFA 14. Can I combine those/use the 7-day trial, or is that done and dusted?

2. Is there a way to organize my friends list, either in folders or alphabetically or something? I've got some friends from here, some in real life, some from old IGN message boards, etc. that I want to organize—can be difficult to keep track of who's who.

3. Are the free to play games worthwhile? Warframe, DCU:O, etc?

Is there a Playstation Community thread or a PS4 games thread (I've seen one for 3DS and Wii U, but not XB1 or PS4) or any other thread where these types of questions are more appropriate, or is this the go-to?

Sometimes I hate being right:

The economics simply don’t work with the traditional process. We have to do something different to get AAA games on Vita. We accomplished it to a certain degree by making PS4 games work on Vita via remote play. PS Now will be another way, streaming PS3 games on Vita. I can’t wait until PS Now is out on Vita – I hope you’ll try out the experience and let me know what you think.

Battlefront II (PSP) on Vita is actually sick. The remapping the aiming face buttons to the right analog stick totally works. And the game isn't that cut down in terms of content, and doesn't look terrible. It's crazy that back then you could just expect a straight port of a big ass console game to a portable.

Going by Borderlands 2, maybe we'll get Dice's Battlefront on the Vita in 2017...

Saying what we had all already pretty much guessed, but it's surprising to see them being so forthright instead of Shahid-esque "Games r coming" (much as Shahid is awesome) stance.

1. No, the cards are enough. You might be able to use the second trial after the first one expires, can't stack them though.

2. No, you can only request name request from someone.

3. I've heard some good things about Warframe, but I'm not a multiplayer guy.

To be fair,
not AAA
games are coming, and it's been some time since Shahid promised a AAA title (if he ever did, I really don't remember). Also, more than once he brought up a "what makes a AAA game?", so it's not like he cares about the size of what he helps come to PlayStation.

Either way, good to see Sony so bluntly say it.

Guess they don't consider Japan Studio's efforts to be AAA. For a handheld, they certainly are. To the mainstream console gamer, not so much.

And is just that guy who bashes the Vita library.

Hey all, just joined VitaGAF yesterday with the Borderlands 2 bundle. Very impressed by this little gem of a machine so far. Have a question regarding PS3/Vita cross save via PSN, hoping someone can shed some light...

I know that some games are cross save, like Deception IV and Hotline Miami, but what happens to your PSN cloud saves for games on both systems that are not cross save? I have Luftrausers and have made a lot of progress on PS3, but when I fired it up on Vita my progress was not synced. It gives me the option to save to PSN, but if I do that will it overwrite my PS3 save on PSN?

I guess what I'm asking is, for PS3/Vita games that are not cross save, does PSN keep a separate cloud save for each device? I'd hate to erase my PS3 progress by overwriting it with my new Vita save...

Oh absolutely, I'm looking forward to a variety of games coming for the Vita. But undoubtedly if you bought a Vita on the strength of titles like Killzone Mercenary, Uncharted, and Assasin's Creed, you're shit out of luck.

Means very little to me; I just want to get my grubby mitts on Minecraft, Binding of Isaac, and Hotline Miami 2.

From my understanding the PS+ cloud saves are totally separate for Vita and PS3, and the only way to "overwrite" your save is with a cross save compatible game where you use the feature to specifically transfer your save. I have guacamelee, and currently my save files are different on PS3 and Vita, and I can upload and download both without anything being overwritten. But if I launch the game and use the cross save transfer option I can sync the saves. In addition, if you browse your PS+ cloud saves on vita or PS3, you only see saves from games on that system, and you have separate storage space for each. Though I can't be completely sure it works this way for all games.

Yes, PS3 and Vita cloud saves are separate. If you have a game on both platforms with no cross-save, you can have different progress for each one, and the ps+ cloud uploads won't affect each other.
Cross-saves, on the other hand, are stored "somewhere else" (not on the PS+ servers) and will overwrite each other, as expected. So always do the cross-save thing (usually via the game menu) before playing on the other platform.

Note that on cross-save games you can have both the cross-save, the cloud save for the Vita version and the cloud save for the PS3 version. What a mess.

Thanks for the replies maouvin and v1perz53, that clears things up.

Now I wonder how trophies for these non-cross save games work. I guess that for the save that's "behind" in progress from the other that trophies just won't pop because they've already been achieved on another device?

This depends on the game. Some games share a trophy list, where you will unlock trophies once and they will show on both PS3 and Vita. Spelunky is like this, no cross save (because the game itself doesn't actually save anything), but I've only ever played the vita version and trophies still show on PS3. Other games have separate lists, and you can get 100% on both versions separately. Sometimes this even works with cross save games, such as Sound Shapes, where you can get the platinum on the PS3 version, send the save to your vita, and watch as all the trophies unlock and you get a second platinum trophy.

But generally, if the game has two versions that shares a trophy list, you will see every trophy earned on both vita and PS3, regardless of where that version's "save" is at. Again, I am sure there are exceptions to this, as it is game dependent.

Nobody considers anything except western developed FPS and 3rd person action AAA franchises to be AAA, and the games that count on Vita don't actually count anyway. Even if they do count, then console games don't belong on handhelds.

Whatever you can think of, the goal post has always been moved and always will be.

I'll forever remember coolasj as the guy who was sacrificed by Flandy to the hordes.
:lol thanks
That was amazing
LOL, what happened with him? Did he sacrifice you too? Or was he another victim to Flandy?

I think the story goes that dear Flandy "baited him" into a rape joke and then Killatopek got banned. Then Flandy took VitaGAF's top spot on the wall of Fshame every month except for last month there after.

LOL

Takes Note: Flandy is a really really dangerous man.

Just so you two know. Killatopek wasn't the only member I've gotten banned :) I got someone in OT to post a NSFW photo that got them banned :P

No it isn't

Thanks once again maouvin. Not very intuitive, is it? It makes sense, but I guess leaving the decisions on this stuff up to the individual developers is the path of least resistance by Sony.

so i think i've been getting vagrant story and vandal hearts confused for my entire life.. i never played either and just recently bought Vagratn Story. Vandal Hearts 1 + 2 aren't on psn, but the prequel "flames of judgement" is....is Flames of Judgement any good? is it worthwhile for me to play that rather than try to look around for VS 1/2?

I don't know how it actually plays, but that game has got singularly the worst art-style in existence.

Holy crap. Did PSStore just bug out on me or what?
I've joined the PS train in February, thus missing out on free Soul Sacrifice from PS+. Just a moment ago I loaded the US PSS to "buy" Stick it to the Man and PES14 and lo and behold: Soul Sacrifice is listed as free. I clicked it, went through checkout, downloading to the Vita at the moment.

It gets even better considering I've seriously thought about shelling out full price for SS just before the Golden Week sale was announced. I know my birthday's coming in a couple of days, but this is just too good. :-))

Do check your PS+ freebie list, some of you might be in for a nice surprise.

Oh please, don't thank me about this~
thank v1perz53 only for this one ;)

How much are Borderlands 2 keys going for? I'm really tempted to pick up a 2000 today so I can get everything set up before Delta.
