During this State of Play, we will debut the Horizon Forbidden West gameplay reveal! In this 20-minute exclusive segment, you’ll be seeing about 14 minutes of brand new in-game action featuring our heroic protagonist Aloy, all captured directly on PlayStation 5.

Hardly any game looks as good or better than 2017 Horizon ZD on a PS4. But I trust the upgrade will be more in the lighting and particle effects, and there should be a mode for 60fps.

I hope Sony is doing a E3 type event this year. Not scatter a bunch of small shows. The state of plays after the PS5 show ( which announced GT7, Horizon, Ratchet and Clank, God of War etc ) were awful and full of repeats apart from FF16 ( which was awesome )

They don't really need to though. Sony's strategy is all about maintaining momentum. Not disrupting the status quo, that's MS' job.

I don't think it'll get memed to death and end up delayed.

Because it's GG with their Decima engine and they will have spent approx 4.5 years on it, I'm expecting it to be the best looking PS5 game to date.

Yeah but Sony has done it every year for a long time. They done it last year too and werent officially in e3. Its not an MS thing, most studios do it.
And same with Nintendo, they normlly do there own show around that time

Regardless if you agree or not, Playstation as a brand is now at Nintendo levels in terms of their PR, social engagement numbers. When they drop a trailer millions watch it and everyone reports on it. It makes waves. Doing the shows has screwed over their developers. Because they have to take time away from developing the game to cater in making a demo just for E3.

Now that they can go at their own pace, they can stealth drop what ever they want, and can have recorded gameplay from sections that are complete and working. Makes it much easier than trying to cobble together a slice that has varying parts of the game mashed together.

This new way has seriously worked for them well. I think everyone is mostly fine with this delivery. Does it suck we wont have another 2015 event? Yes, does it take away from the hype of these top quality titles we are getting, no?

Better to have 1 or 2 big events a year like TGS and e3 and not scatter events throughout the year like they done last year. State of plays have been painful to watch. If MS does a show and announces games like The next Elder scrolls, Doom and what not and Playstation shows nothing its just bad business for Playstation. Both Nintendo and Playstation can lose mindshare and hype very quickly. Why stay silent and have customers more excited about competitions line up?

I think you live in an alternate reality. Last year Sony had a big hour+ event that showed a ton of games. Then did state of plays to show the games coming that year like Demons souls and miles. We got returnal last month, we got a state of play for ratchet which is out in like 2 weeks. They are going to do a deep dive into horizon forbidden west Thursday.

So if they are going this so early what do you think the reason is? Their show case like last year is going to be big, and since more people have their games in better condition to show gameplay we are getting more. Expect a hour+ event then smaller events to show case games like Kena coming out this year.

Sony did an event last year like Nintendo did. Playstation is not losing mindshare, if anything the reason xbox is selling in india is because people cant get PS5's. Which was backed by PS4 being second best selling console in that country.

They will do a state of play that is E3 focused like last year. But expect more smaller events later in the year.

Maybe you didnt read my comment properly. Yes I just said they done a big show last year And it was great? The 2nd one was awful and the smaller ones too.

Here it is my game of the gen and cant be bothered to platinum...then again i only have onr platinum and thats Atro's Playroon lol. Trophy hunting just isn't my thing. If i didnt or cant get them all before beating a game then it aint happening.
