Its fucking ridiculous that we have to pay for INFORMATION on games. I want that SH5 video, but it'll probably be like a 5 minute video I'll watch once, ever.

how long were the videos in the previous episode of Qore?

You don't have to! The same as you don't have to buy EGM, Game Informer or Gamepro. You don't have to pay for Gamespot or IGN membership.

There's plenty of free information out there if you don't think this has value.

This is a big business, people have to make money somehow. You vote with your dollars. No one is forcing you to do anything. IGN, Gamespot, Game Informer, etc., all have the goal of staying alive financially. If you don't want to support any of these endeavors, then don't!

Tired of people acting so spoiled.

They wont listen. Just give up, they will never listen.

yeah. I was going to buy the year but thought about it and didn't. wish i did BUT NOW i wish Sony do something about this big ass file size for Qore. First one was over 1gb. and as far as getting the demo I have to download the Episode, install and then download and install the Demo? Too much fucking time there. I'm all for HD but i wouldn't mind an SD version of the video appear on the screen and having a nice pretty border around it. really.

XMB works in Qore.

Is that Soul Calibur trailer on the JPN store actually new? I'm converting it to flash right now...

Is the Silent Hill 5: In Depth Look a QORE only?

The non-demo content seems to stay exclusive to Qore on the PSN. Similar stuff to that can probably be found on the web if you do a little searching.

This is shameful. Sony looked longingly at Microsoft screwing over their customer base for dollars and the customers lapping it up, and Sony execs said "We have to get in on that."

So we got Qore. The only thing even more shameful is that people are defending it.

Not much different than a magazine subscription that comes with a demo disc. I haven't bought it though. The R2 and SH features make this issue tempting though.

Yeah, you have to pay to play online, definately the same thing. Price is the same as well.
*rolleyes*

Now every thread will be bitching about QORE, this is my prediction

I think that if you are an annual subscriber to Qore, the episodes never go away to download. On the PS Store, the only thing to download for Qore is episode 1 for annual subscribers, but the monthy one is gone.

The idea of shutting off most of the userbase to favor those paying is annoying, but I subscribed with the idea that I don't have to worry about this stuff anymore, nor do I have to worry about getting into a Beta. Plus the video content is pretty good. Like with XBL, I just swallow my pride and pay up the money, then I don't worry about it for a year.

I am really, really sick of idiots like these blasting Qore. For crying out loud, we get it. You don't like the idea of paying $2 or $3 dollars a month for HD dev videos, an exclusive demo and a hidden minigame. That's awesome. Don't buy it, enjoy the content two weeks later and get the info you missed from other people on the internet. Done.

Man, I can't believe how stupid some of you are over something like this. When Qore has something that is completely locked within the magazine itself and there's no way of playing/watching it without buying the mag, then feel free to bitch about it.

If you read Sony's latest financial report, you can see Sony is still losing money. It's a business and you guys have to understand that. Sony allowing game sharing is being generous enough. 3 dollars dude.

If Sony really wants to increase revenue through the PSN store, they should start making those PSN cards readily available.

What about the people that don't care about 3 bucks to play a game they care about a couple weeks early?

/can't wait to get home to play Nah-rue-toe. :D :D

exactly, this is just a digital mag, and Naruto is the demo that it comes with.

Releasing games would help.

where the fuck is that shooter game that looks like zelda?

The problem is that while magazines at least strive to give you an unbias coverage and reviews, Qore just is all about playing up the PS3 and its games. One part I found funny about the first episode was that in the SC4 video, they were talking about how the first thing they thought of when adding guest characters was Darth Vader in the PS3 game. No mention of the 360 version, no mention of Yoda. Same thing was with The Force Unleashed where the guy thanked the power of the Playstation 3 for making the game possible, yet it is coming on 360 as well.

Do you write to PSM and the official Playstation Magazine that their coverage is a bit biased as well? :p

Already confirmed that it's not coming out in North America.

I don't read PSM, but OPM wasn't bad. Funny enough, I actually ordered OPM mainly for the demo disks, but the magazine was still great. I have almost every PS2 demo disk they put out.

Have there been any actual details on the Naruto demo yet? Characters, stage, etc.

Every gameplay video out is from the demo. Two characters: Kakashi and Naruto. Stage is on some lake.

i know its been 'updated' since the original japanese PSN version which is supposed to make it better, but it would have to be one hell of an update to make that a good game...

its easily the worst thing i've played on the PS3, and i've played lair. i played it in a kind of half paying attention kind of way for an incredibly dull unchallenging 40 minutes waiting for it to get more interesting until i got bored and stopped. tried it again and you have to start all over from the beginning...

It is past 5 pm, why hasn't the store updated yet? I want to get to downloading this Qore episode since they take so long. The single episode of June is gone, but the annual one is still up if you already downloaded it before.

did you just compare dark mist to lair? you're insane

dm is easily one of the best psn games, and is nothing like zelda except that you use keys in a dungeon.

That's an inexcusable practice too. People have been bitching about that ever since you could download demos off the internet.

You had a point until that last part. I disagreed with your point, but at least you were consistent. But why the fuck does it matter if the content is locked forever or locked for two weeks? Either way it's being held back. And of course you're missing the entire point, which is that...

... these are ads! What kind of people pay for advertisements? It's not my job to worry about Sony's financials. I don't work for them and I don't own their stock. If they want my money they should try making some stuff and then telling me how awesome their stuff is so that I'll buy their stuff, not try to get me to pay $3 for the privilege of having them tell me how awesome their stuff is.

Two months ago demos and videos were free. Now they cost money. And people are saying, awesome! Jesus Christ.

i agree its nothing like zelda, but as a shooter its absolutely devoid of any kind of challenege beyond constantly firing and sweeping the analogue stick.

then tacked onto that is wandering around a dungeon to collect keys, and since the shooting is so intensely dull it may as well not even be there it basically degenerates into - walk everywhere till you find the key, go through the newly opened door, repeat...

imho anyway! maybe i'm just mad, everyone else seems to like it

You know Qore is a Future product right?

Future makes magazines, like Official PlayStation Magazine. Qore is like a e-zine with demos instead of a paper one with a demo disc.

I don't understand what the appeal is for publishers to release demos on Qore. Don't demo's exist for the sole purpose of having as many people as possible get a small taste of what's to come?

Betas are one thing, but this strategy makes very little sense to me.
