Just doing a spot-check and gauging folks' interest in Unit 13.

So freakin' keen for that one. Love the concept, love the clean look.

It would be my first purchase over everything else if it was out on launch day. In fact, it's the title that made me decide on pre ordering a Vita.

In the meantime I bought Shinobido 2 and Ridge Racer instead (plus my two free games with the bundle, WipEout and Uncharted).

Why didn't you import it then?

Why would I? The NA games weren't available until the system was, I don't speak Japanese, and my days of wasting hours trying to figure out obscure Kanji menu items are long past (memories of trying to play Final Fantasy III on a NES with a Famicom adapter and a mimeographed sheef of fan translation haunt me to this day)... I haven't imported a system since the SuperGrafx, and barring exceptional circumstances, doubt I will again...

All I could find (on Wiki of all places) was "2012" so I guess that fits. Shame but my pre-order remains intact.

I realise I haven't got a screen protector or case though. I don't want to rehash old discussion so will have a trawl of the last couple of pages. But if anyone has any strong opinion please do post a reply!

EDIT: Awesome name too petethepanda.

I played with 1 LBP level in the SF Vita Hill Club 2-3 months ago. It was a 2D top down physics based maze navigation mini-game.

My feedback to all is this:
Vita LBP may be familiar in create, play, share concept BUT it should be a very different game on a handheld.

PS3 is a physics and rendering monster compared to Vita. PS3 LBP is therefore a "realistic" tinker toy world. Vita is weaker but has more memory, touch screen, more social features and can go outdoor. Vita LBP should avoid direct comparison with PS3 and focus on Vita's strength.

The touch screen is intuitive but your finger will block your view if the level requires constant touching throughout the level. In the game I tried, I had to guide a SackBot throughout the maze slowly. My finger got in the way in tight spots. Over here, the back touch would be very helpful. I think new LBP mechanics to integrate with social sites can also be very interesting. Hope the developers spend as much time as they need to complete the Vita concept instead of just porting the same old PS3 formula straight.

Thanks patsu and I agree.

On watching the trailer I did think I'm gonna use create even less on LBP Vita than I did on PS3...

That's no bad thing though. My imagination was fired from thinking about the input methods. And it seems to suit my preconceptions about playing in short bursts. I do think with the alternative inputs there might be some interesting, but certainly not revolutionary, levels put out there. PS3 (or PC!) create to share on Vita would be great (I'm assuming that doesn't exist though).

Vita pre-ordered but I won't get my hands on it til the end of Feb/early March. Shit.

I hope Sony allows SIM unlock on the AT&T model :S

Don't count on it. What would be their incentive to do so? They no doubt have an exclusive contract with AT&T for the foreseeable future, so I can't imagine any kind of unlock until that's over with (whenever the hell that might be.)

You're not the only one. I was able to stay strong until this past Thursday and then I made the move back to the FEB.

Hee hee. I was so proud of myself last night that I did not switch back to the FEB, but when I got up today I looked at this thread, said f-it and called Amazon at 7am to make the change. Was surprised that they could give me the launch day delivery, since it is gone from their website for the FEB. The way they are shipping all this stuff, I will be getting something every day of the week, next week.

In preparation to fifa's launch on vita i would love it for people to add me who are also going to buy fifa on the vita. Id love to play a lot of matches online.

PSN: OmieeZF-LIVE

NA games have been out for a week now; you could be playing them now. Why didn't you import?

How'd you get FEB with release date delivery so late? It's been unavailable for a few days

Not sure. I explained to the nice lady that I wanted to swap my wifi for FEB but keep my entire order intact (not to end up with 2 orders), she said to hold on for 2 minutes and when she came back she said she changed it and that the FEB would be delivered on the 15th because of launch delivery shipping. I did not even need to ask for that.

Any places in Canada selling games other than Uncharted, Mod Nation, Wipeout and Hot Shot Golf ?

I'm mainly interested in the fighting games and rayman.

Also, any good places to buy PSN cards online for email delivery ? (codes that work in Canada).

Has anyone seen the Hori screen protectors in stores yet?

I know the Fry's and Gamestops in my area carry Hori products. I'm hoping they'll be out prior to the 22nd launch.

Easy. No one knew at that time Sony would send the games out first. They only promised games the same day as FEB launch.

You'll still have the swapped O and X buttons to deal with. I imported my first PSP. Firmware update added Japanese only services but I can't use them anyway. Had to reflash it with US firmware somehow but I didn't bother. I think buying local hardware is more "aligned".

Can I use my own music in FIFA VITA?
No. Personal music stored on the PlayStation VITA will not be accessible from within the game.

wait what. I thought vita had universal custom soundtracks.

I think you start the music player with the playlist you want and then swipe into your game.

I was VERY close to switching my wifi to FEB yesterday. But I figured that if I can make it to next Tuesday, Twisted Metal will hold me over. + the fact I have zero want for 3G.

I just got back from picking up a $150 3DS for my daughter's birthday. I checked out the Vita on display. I am impressed with the machine for the most part. The screen is beautiful. The machine "melts" in your hands. The analog sticks seemed flimsy. The buttons are too small. I did not get a chance to try out the d-pad much. The pattern on the back of the machine was annoying to touch-way too aggressive. (Yeah, I hold by PSP with my fingers on the back of the machine). I played Gravity Rush. It looked like a fun game. The cell shading brought back memories of Jet Set Radio. If the Vita would have launched with JSR, it would be hard for me to not bust my budget and get a Vita at launch.

Bottomline: I will be buying a Vita. Price drop to $169 or a title that "I gotta have" and it will be mine.

This question is so stupid that I can't be bothered responding. Go trollollo someone who cares...

These are valid points... add the fact that my Best Buy FEB preorder with free Uncharted was paid off back in January, and that shipping from Japan takes a week at best, and it's pretty simple to see why people wouldn't bother at this late date...

I haven't seen a vita in the wild yet. Went down to gamestop and they had it on display, but inside of a plastic shell.. It looked nice, but it kind of sucked that I didn't get to play around with it.

That is too bad. It is a very, very nice machine.

It's not though. If money isn't an object and you want it as soon as possible, you could be playing right now. Seems like I just found a flaw in your logic.

Nope. It's always the total package, including the US voucher deal, the comfort/convenience of buying local, the increasing hype, etc. It is indeed too simplistic to assume it has to be one or the other reason. It can be a complex combo of reasons according to principles of marketing.

Plus it's an individual decision. Your reasoning may or may not apply to him.

How is it any different than him trivializing the cost difference for only 7 days? That's almost two games.

Value-wise, the FEB is going to cost ten more dollars than if you were to buy the game and case with the 3G launch bundle. It stinks because before we were actually SAVING money by getting the FEB, but it's still not nearly as big of a deal as you're making it out to be.

C'mon Marty, he said he would pay $50 for a Vita a week early. Not $200 more two months early (typical importer markup) - his logic is fine, you're just extrapolating. There is definitely a money vs. time equation and for him it is worth it to have it a week early. For you, it is not. Leave him alone.

(I think in the end I ended up paying about $80 more than US to get mine before Christmas, not too bad...I wanted to play Uncharted pretty bad :) but if I had to pay $200+ markup I definitely would have waited for US launch too...

I would like this Vita case if it turned into a stand with a shelf that the Vita could just sit in. I have a bag I'll carry the vita in, so I don't need a lot of protection.

It just seems like it would be a hassle to use if you didn't want the Vita attached to the case while you used it.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've never heard of planetaxel but the 32gb memory card is over £15.00 cheaper than anywhere else I've looked at.

Have you used them before?

I have used them, never had a problem except once where my item got lost in the mail but they sent me a new one free of charge, but it took like a month before I finally received what I ordered. But usually they take around 7 days to ship, I live in Sweden.
