Value-wise, the FEB is going to cost ten more dollars than if you were to buy the game and case with the 3G launch bundle. It stinks because before we were actually SAVING money by getting the FEB, but it's still not nearly as big of a deal as you're making it out to be.

I think people are undervaluing the case. If the flimsy travel pouch is $20, then the FEB should be more like $30. I bet it will sell for at least that on eBay.

No, but they have a pretty good reputation.

I have used them, never had a problem except once where my item got lost in the mail but they sent me a new one free of charge, but it took like a month before I finally received what I ordered. But usually they take around 7 days to ship, I live in Sweden.

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated!

Yep. The FEB case looks nice. It should have some decent secondary value assuming it really is as limited as Sony says. And it seems like it.

I'll be keeping mine though. It's a lot nicer than most of the cases I've seen in this thread.

And if that's true (which it does look like a really nice case), we aren't paying ANY more for what we're getting.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've never heard of planetaxel but the 32gb memory card is over £15.00 cheaper than anywhere else I've looked at.

Have you used them before?

I've used them to make this pre-order, so far the service has been incredible. My order messed up (internet cut out after completing through paypal, so money left my account but order didn't complete). They came back to me and fixed and gave me the postage for free as compensation. Very impressed so far. Now to just hope it comes haha!

Copied and pasted from now locked US launch details thread:

I know a lot of people are going to download some PSP titles from the store. Make sure you check out the 2 packs. Sometimes they are cheaper than buying a single game... for example: LocoRoco/Patapon- $14.99. Patapon by itself is $15.99. If you were looking for Patapon on the PSN, it wouldn''t show you that it is part of a 2 pack for less money.

2 packs are $14.99
LocoRoco / Patapon
Motorstorm: Arctic Edge / Twisted Metal: Head On
Secret Agent Clank / Daxter
Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow / Killzone: Liberation
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror / SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo (1st one)

How is it any different than him trivializing the cost difference for only 7 days? That's almost two games.

  1. I DON'T WANT TO IMPORT. I want the NORTH AMERICAN system. I do not want the JAPANESE system. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME THING. Pretending they are doesn't make anyone look any smarter...
  2. I don't care about the lousy $50... If I can spend $50 to get something this cool a week early, I'll do it; Li'l Deviants, the case, the extra 4GB card and the FREE copy of Uncharted I get with it is just icing on the cake. AND I'll buy any and all the games for the thing I want.
  3. That being said, I can understand that others may not be in a position to afford this option; I can respect that. But don't tell me how to spend my money or that I'm "wasting" my money. What I'm "wasting" is my time replying to these presumptuous, vacuous and ultimately insipid "arguments" (and I use the word very loosely). My money. My toy. My choice. NOT a "waste" in any way, shape or form.

A lot of these games not having cross platform play has really put me off, would have been more excited for Vita if I could have played against PS3 players with UMvC3. Problem of not having cross platform play is, that I can't play against my PS3 buddies, and I am betting he online community won't be as huge as PS3's, also it would have been nice to have a unified ranking system so I have the same profile in both versions. I am hoping SFxT has cross platform play. So far only WipeOut has cross platform play, I was hoping games like BlazBlue also had it too.

Okay GAF, is there any real benefit to getting the 3G model? Or do I stick with my WiFi pre-order?

Other than data, the only functional difference between the two is that 3G has GPS. If 3G isn't interesting to you the only selling point is if you'd like to be absolutely safe should a game come out that you want but requires GPS. Considering how much more the WiFi model has sold and how likely it is to continue that way I think it would be insane to expect many devs to make real use of GPS, but there's the difference to consider.

dang relax bro. you seem on edge

I'm on the same boat as you are but I think I'll go with the 3G version. I was originally going to buy the Wi-fi Vita and a 8gb card, I then found out about the Launch Bundle and it just makes sense to buy that (IMO). For $20 more you get the "just in case" version, the "full" version, the "shit, that game has cool 3G features and now I'm fucked" version.

Not sure why you quoted me. I was on your side. The extra money (which I look at as just an extra $10 (the price difference between the 4gb card that comes with the FEB and the 8gb card that comes with the launch bundle)) is not a big deal. I am easily willing to pay that for getting it a week early.

Wifi model preordered! I'll be waiting impatiently for the 22nd with the unwashed masses. Just gotta spend the next two weeks waffling on which accessories I want.

I'm still confused by the account region situation. Is it tied to the actual Vita (1 Vita = 1 Account+Region), or did it go back to being tied to the Memory Card? I wouldn't mind getting an extra Memory Card for the Japanese store.

If you want to switch regions, you need to factory reset the Vita AND use a different memory card, I think.

Nah, Vita's aren't listed as PSPs so it won't be a problem. I also had two PSP's registered to my account for some reason. lol

Yes. I take very good care my devices in general and the Vita is no exception, but it's not immune to accidental scratches. I've already got one on the back. So yeah, I suggest two protective filters. One for the front and one for the back.

Yeah, I was disappointed by that as well but it's no biggy. I remember a good portion of PS1 games back in the day being O to confirm as well and I never had a problem with it. Just got used to it lol. I think I prefer shooting with O and zooming with Triangle/X, anyways. As has been mentioned, PSP games seem fine.
Sorry for quoting the whole thing, I'm on my phone.

Note that even for PSP games the system utilities (for example the save game menus) will use the button layout of the console, not the game. I never worked on PSP but I think games can ask the console for the button layout and adjust accordingly as well, but that depends on the game.

I do not think this is true. I have one memory card and you are not required to format it (you ARE prompted to do so).

Any games or apps remain on the card, if they were purchased they are inaccessible since you are not signed in with the account that owns them. Save games stay but you will get a message that you will not be able to earn trophies if you play with that save file.

You are correct.

Ordered a Skinomi Screen Protector from Amazon (via Skinomi) and I got it today. Was the frickin iphone screen and not the Vita one. was ticked off a little as I really want a protector day 1. So I call Amazon and they offered me free next day shipping and I just paid for the flat price of 6.95. I have to call SKinomi on Monday and get a free return shipping label but the one I re-ordered is right from Amazon so whatever happens, I don't have to go through a third party seller like the first one I ordered. The Amazon rep thinks they either ran out or was just a simple error. All is well since I will get it on Monday though. Happy camper.

So does that mean all it takes to switch regions is swap memory cards log out then log in with the other region's account? No factory reset?

you can't log in / log out as such - you basically assign an account to the PSV itself. If you want to switch the account you have to RESTORE.

If you try and sign into PSN with the account that is NOT the one associated with the PSV then you get rejected with a "you must sign in with the account associated with this PSV" or something similar.

no. you need to do a factory reset to change the account on your vita. the post you replied to was just mentioning that it doesn't require you to format the memory card if it's in the machine at the same time. it will just make the data on the card inaccessible for the new vita account.

Thanks for clearing that up!

Do you lose anything other than your system settings when you do a restore?

I wonder how quick/easy it would be to restore between region changes.

when i've done it i seem to have lost all NEAR data and you suddenly get all your trophy notifications again whenever you play games - plus all the hints/tips on using Vita... and the annoying intro movie :/

Does anyone know what the current price of the following Digital PSP games are? In short, are they the same prices as they were when first released ($40) or have they dropped in price?

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
Gran Turismo PSP
Little Big Planet PSP
Mega Man Maverick Hunter
Dissidia Final Fantasy (first game)

Thanks in advance.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite - $19.99
Gran Turismo PSP - Not on Vita PSN
Little Big Planet PSP - Not on Vita PSN
Mega Man Maverick Hunter - $9.99
Dissidia Final Fantasy (first game) - $19.99

The ones not on Vita PSN might be on PS3 PSN though. And you might be able to download them there and transfer to the Vita. I don't want to turn on my PS3 to check.

I need some serious impressions on FIFA. Portable FIFA's have all been so disappointing.

Probably should watch the video on the last page, it's all you need to see. It looks as solid as can be.

Them games work though. You should just go on Media Go or PSN to check them out.

Mega Man Maverick Hunter: $9.99
Dissidia: $19.99

Edit: Beaten. I was checking on my PSP Go and it was painfully slow, lol.

I think I've mentioned this before but hopefully Sony brings an equivalent of Media Go to the Vita.
It sucks that you need WiFi or a PS3 to download/transfer Vita/PSP games.
