serious question, is anyone know when Sony will authorize their browser to stream VR content ?

I guess never? They don't even have updated their media player for SBS 360 content even though there were apps that already did that (with one of them being down unfortunately...VRideo I miss you ;_;)

Ugh, was planning on buying a PSVR on Friday but it looks like stock is really limited. I didn't realize because at my Target there has always been one, but I guess it's sold out.

Meh.

I hope it's soon. It's insane you need a competing VR device to view VR videos...

I suspect that it's probably because Sony is trying to fight the porn train. They already have a few apps like Within that can view 360 content, and VRrideo could stream 3D/360 videos before they shut down, so it's definitely not a hardware problem.

Or its just Sony being Sony. Just look at all the features that were standard on PS3 that took ages to arrive on PS4. PSVR is a lot to pay for a porn viewer when people can just buy a headset to slip their phone in and get the exact same experience.

Was really thinking we would have a YouTube update at least.

I bought Werewolves on Friday and let my niece play it - as a result, my headset is now going to be over at her place because she is totally hooked on it. She had blocked my PS4 two nights in a row preventing me from playing Last Guardian.

I don't get that argument, there are porn movies on blu-ray disc and PS3 could read them since day 1. Mp4 files can also be porn, PS3 and PS4 can read them. 360 SBS can be porn, but don't have to be and we can't watch them. PSVR is not really a kids toy at 400+ bucks anyway, so let us use it to the full potential, thanks Sony!!1

Probably just Sony being Sony and taking their sweet ass time to deliver some new feature that should have been there day 1...

That's curious. Why would 3D titles be any different than 2D titles from a copy protection perspective?

I remember reading it somewhere (some quick googling doesn't lead to anything, unfortunately), and it made sense to me: Film Studios are really backwards in terms fo copy-protection, and I know the PSVR has issues with HDCP, which is why you can't have HDR pass-through in the breakout box.

Extremely helpful! To be honest, I've kind of been feeling like my decision to get the Pro over the Slim may have been a mistake - but hopefully exploring some of these titles (and getting PSVR will change my mind).

Still a darn shame about The Last of Us.

Edit: Meant to post this in another thread, but still somewhat relevant. I hope I can find PSVR in stock before I go home for Christmas. I think my family will get a kick out of it.

I also wonder how easy it is to fall asleep while playing something like Perfect. I've fallen asleep lying down with Google Cardboard on my face before...

I'll wait for people's impressions on I Expect You To Die before jumping in, in case it's a crap port. But I'm pretty interested.

Just realized Destructoid reviewed the occulus rift version a few weeks ago and not the PS4 one. Hopefully it is a good port.

Just had to rip the headset off while playing resident evil. The shit is intense and I can play Rush of Blood with no problem, maybe I'm just of a nervous disposition today. Hurt my throat screaming :/

There's something about Rush of Blood that makes it just plain fun. Maybe it's the action element. And the horror is so colorful.

But Here They Lie, RE7, P.T. etc in VR are just not fun to me. Terrifying and worth experiencing, but not fun.

I dunno, I'm eager to get back into it, I'm actually really psyched I felt the need to take off the headset. Gunna confront that part again later on and try and keep my cool.

I was playing PT the other day in VR, and Lisa got me within 2 minutes. I didn't know it was possible. It scared the SHIT out of me and I like almost cried lol

The difference is the prodding that Rush of Blood gives you. RE7 makes you push forward yourself, UD ROB throws you down the track whether you're ready or not.

Same reason Dead Space: Extraction was not as scary as Dead Space 1.

'Perfect' looks neat, wonder what we call that genre... 'standing simulator' ?

Supposedly you can use move controllers to move around and interact with bits and bobs which isn't really explained in the video, But I think they missed a trick by not having any sort of multiplayer, would be nice just to hang out in pretty locations with friends and family from afar as there isn't really any other 'social only' experiences on the PSVR store right now.

Also, can't believe this thread is about to pass the HTC Vive Launch thread in only two months. It's pretty amazing actually.

Slightly unrelated anecdote, but whenever I play Werewolves 90% of people are on PSVR, so I think the estimation that it doubled the install base of the existing PC hardware is well under.

Wish we had some proper sales figures :(

I don't get it.

Escapeware.

If you've ever found yourself in a situation where you wish you could just be somewhere else for a little while, this lets you do it without actually having to go anywhere. The fact that it actually uses Spotify makes it more attractive in that regard than the Harmonix visualizer.

I actually like these weird little application of VR for non-gaming purposes, so I'll probably buy this tomorrow.

I like em too but not 10 dollar like em.
5 bucks tops for crap like this.

Crystal rift is much longer than I thought. This is a game thats only fun because of the VR. Still having fun though

Watched some video, it looks pretty basic, but I grew up with games like Eye of the Beholder: do you think it's worth it for a fan of grid-based dungeon crawling?

I'm so eager to dive back into VR. I'm picking up a PS4 Pro tonight, probably, and get my PSVR in less than two weeks. I got to finally try one out yesterday. The headset was lovely. Very comparable in comfort to the Rift, which I previously owned (both are much more comfortable than the Vive). The optics were very good, and coming from the rift I'm used to light leak around the bottom.

The screen itself was what I hoped, namely, surprisingly comparable to what the Vive and the Rift have. Obviously the motion controls are a step down, but they're still better than what I personally had before (a razer hydra) even if I've had a good amount of time with the Vive controllers.

Software support looks good coming from the Rift. Aside from Audioshield (which I doubt we'll see because of where it gets it's music from) there isn't really much missing from the line up out of the games I've been missing since I sold my Rift.

I feel very good about stepping out of that ecosystem into this one, and Resident Evil has always been my favorite franchise, so I feel pretty blessed that it's the first truly AAA full fat VR title and is only about a month away.

All your Werewolves impressions might get me to resubscribe to PSN, but we shall see.

I've got Arkham VR, Rush of Blood, VR Worlds, and Trackmania to play with day one, along with all the demo stuff. I'll probably pick up a couple of other titles based on the demos. I always liked tumble, so maybe I'll get that.

Arizona Sunshine I just played on PC yesterday too, and that was a good time. Serious Sam VR also. Sam VR I will definitely be picking up, as I've always loved that series, and it worked extremely well, probably the best wave based VR shooter I've tried. It helps of course that I know all the enemies and weapons already.

PSVR looks to have the software. The headset is great, and at least with PS4 Pro, the IQ is more than acceptable for me. Happy days ahead.
