It's okay. I'll have Ike as my wingman to switch into Fairy attacks, and I never leave home without my Scizor (whose Bullet Punch will tear through Fairies like me at a dessert buffet).

And hey, maybe they'll expand Scrafty's moveset to help him deal with Fairies more effectively! Maybe he'll expand his arsenal of headbutt attacks with Iron Head!

Damn straight, nothing will stop the Scraftytrain.

Oh nooooooooooo

...

I saw someone streaming Pokemon Stadium on Twitch the other day and it was really intense and fun to watch even though he was just playing against the AI. If the next Stadium type game were to include native streaming capabilities and regular tournaments where you could watch online and follow specific players I could see that becoming absolutely HUGE. And then I realized that this is Nintendo so that's not likely to happen any time soon. :(

I also have some ideas for a 3DS/Wii U PokéMOBA that would make tons of cash...

Azumarill isn't afraid of bullets. Neither is Mawile. It actually regains its dark resistance from Fairy type too.

Aw yiss! Bustin' makes me feel good!

Don't worry; they've got a nice Gunk Shot and Fire Blast with their respective names on 'em. The knife that cuts deepest is the one that takes its time.

So English update this evening huh?
Did we ever get it? Haven't checked the official site.

Also, as much as i like its design, and i'll have one on my X team for sure, I really hope Pyroar is a Special Attack Specialist. I will not have Arcanine outclassed...

Heatran already does that :(

I pre-ordered it, so I'm pretty sure that keeps me locked in at $11.99, but yeah that has to be a mistake or something. I was just worried it was an unofficial guide or something. Still though, a 416 page hardcover guide for $11.99 ain't bad.
It also isnt releasing til the 16th, four days after the game comes out. Thats even weirder.

I've been a few days outside of the Pokemon loop, so to summarize my thoughts over recent events: Froakie's moniker as greatest starter ever just gained some legitimate stock from Andre 3000's endorsement, I'm not so thrilled about Pignite's new forme and grass typing, X went from best to bester with another Dragon ball Z-inspired Mewtwo, Pyroar will probably get the fire spot on my team opposite Froakie and Bulbasaur provided nothing more ascetically appealing comes along, and you guys are overreacting over a harmless thread.

So one month away, what are you folks going to do to hype yourself up for it?

I'll probably start another Nuzlocke in Platinum, as my last one didn't go so well. (Freaking Cranidos man) I'll also probably finish transferring my Pokemon over from Pearl so that they can be uploaded to the Bank.

Aside from that... exactly what I've been doing. Reading and chatting with people on Pokemon forums. Soaking it into my veins.

I am trying to beat the PWT challenge in Black 2. I will probably finish it before the XY release day, though, so I might do another Platinum run to pass time.

Also, Serebii just confirmed that the Pokémon The Origins special will be almost two hours long! Great news.

Within a press release today, it was announced that the upcoming special: Pokémon The Origin is to be in a timeslot from 7pm to 8:49pm on October 2nd. This special features a return to the original narrative and joins Red as he travels through the Kanto region. We'll provide full coverage of this, including pictures, in full upon airing

I wonder how long it'll take for the fansub to release

Nice, first anime thing I'm excited about since the power of one :p

Also, apparently the TV Tokyo site hints more special for 2014. Translation is a courtesy of Dogasu (from bulbagarden forums):
TV-Tokyo ends the press release by saying that there will be more special Pocket Monsters related programming in 2014 to help the station celebrate its 50th year on the air.
R/S or X/Y special please ;_;

So Pokemon: The Origin is more of a movie than a special :p it's got a bigger length than I expected honestly. I expected at the most, an hour.

Looking forward to seeing how they do this.

Transferring my Gen IV Pokemon to Gen V. I'd be done by now if it wasn't for that damn minigame. I somehow have three Articunos. After I'm done I will do some stuff I never managed to finish off in White.

Looking at the Classic OT, it could have made a great classic Pokemon thread, but then they had to include GSC for those Gameboy Color newbies. Fuck GSC, if you're going to go classic, you go classic all the way, no compromises. Including GSC is the equivalent of including the first two Gen 3 games, only with less water.
They didn't rebalance poison at all :(
It got a resistance and a type weak to it. That's fine by me.

I've been playing Pokemon Colosseum
I'm looking to play R/S/E with physical/special split
Absol might actually be useful.

Alakazam on the other hand... Wow.

Electric-types can no longer be paralyzed

Words cannot describe how happy I am

5G5iw.gif
Wait, WHAT. WHERE.

That doesn't even make sense! Sure, most paralyzing attacks involve electricity, but Body Slam and Stun Spore (which are very common moves) don't. It'd be like making Psychic types immune to confusion because a lot of Psychic attacks confuse.

Ah well, it's okay from a gameplay standpoint for me. :-\

Official artwork and names got released. 2nd form names are strange. But man, the in battle graphics look good.

And Tyrunt's name I think implies that it evolves. At least I hope it does.

Edit: Female Pyroar is so sick.

Aerodactyl is the only fossil pokemon that doesn't evolve, it was basically a given. Besides, do you really think they would waste the chance to make a full-grown Tyrannosaurus Rex?

Grass types are immune to powder/spore moves (ex: PoisonPowder, Stun Spore)

Electric types are immune to paralysis from any source (ex. Body Slam)

Ice types can't be Frozen

Ghost types can't be trapped by moves (ex: Mean Look). It's unknown whether this applies to abilities (Shadow Tag, Arena Trap), or moves that trap temporarily, like Fire Spin.

For some reason when I saw the corocoro leaks, I had a sense that Tyrunt wouldn't evolve. I'll gladly be wrong though, for a giant TRex wrecking machine.

So that brings us to about 40 new pokemon revealed. I guessed about a 100 new ones would be lower end, but with Mega forms, I don't know. How many new ones do you guys think we might get?

Great, now I'm going to associate Anura with ~MoeMoeKawaiiNinfia~ too.

I'm guessing it will be a lower number, thanks to the generation pattern and the introduction of Mega evolutions, but I don't think we'll ever have only 100 new Pokemon in one generation again; we've been conditioned to expect more.
