30hrs is more than enough to finish a Pokémon game without rushing ._. At least to me. It took me 35hrs though, but that was because it took me a while to find a fitting 6th member for my team.
My team in the end:
Deez (Chesnaught)
Bubbles (Blastoise)
Blaziken (the event torchic)
Dumbledore (Alakazam)
Raichu
Rey Mysterio (Hawlucha)
Had the same team since Cyllage Town or so, where Hawlucha was found. Dunno if it's weird but I feel committed to them, I don't really want to use Xerneas, Mewtwo or Zygarde now in my main team.

Nice team! Well, except for Chesnaught. My team by the end was pathetic, so I'd rather not mention it. I am replaying the game, though and my new team is shaping up nicely. So far I have Greninja, Malamar, Vivillon (which is surprisingly useful) and Medicham in my team. Also, I don't think it is weird to feel committed to your Pokémon, it happens to me as well.
Not at all. Any good trainer knows friendship is the most important stat <3

I still don't get how some can say the game looks horrible and is DS-like. I don't remember any DS games that look like this or if it's even capable of this level.

Real talk: I still don't remember any of the names for the Pokemon this gen other than the ones I have in my current team. And that's like only the Fennekin and Fletchling line >.>

Finally got my copy today from work. From just playing for an hour I'm pretty damn confused on all these new buttons and stuff I see in the bottom screen. Other than that, it feels weird coming back to the series after skipping out on B(2)/W(2).

Well, there are people who deem 30 FPS "a slideshow", so there you go. Honestly,people who dropped Pokemon because of lack of 3D/unlocked framerate probably weren't really into it to begin with.
Super training for raising stats, Pokemon Amie to interact with your Pokemon and raise affection levels which help with gaining extra experience, PSS for the online trading and battling with friends and whatnot.
The smaller icons way at the bottom of the screen are your basic menu buttons like the pokedex, save, and options.

Bouncing off of that, I did want a constant map feature option on the bottom screen. That was one thing I did like from D/P/P for the poketch tool.

We will, after playing the game I'm sure of it. I'm just curious on what changes they will make to the games so they can exploit the 3DS' capabilities (and I'm talking beyond Streetpass secret bases).
Maybe something to do with Pokemon Contests as well.

Yeah it is. You can get Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza aswell as the battle frontier but I didn't bother with it as you have it in 4th gen with the physical/special split.
6 badges, 20 hours. In the town with the snow and windmill.
I really liked Valerie's gym in Laverre City, so many girl trainers, its like Erika's gym all over again :3

Well, some people DO suggest to wipe out older generation Pokemon with somekind of sickness or disease just because they bored to see them so that suggestion hardly surprises me at all.

So we've all had time to let Gen VI wash over us. We've assembled our teams and become acquainted with their respective strengths and weaknesses. We had a thread about the gen VI designs when we were all guessing and knew nothing of their evolutions and movesets and basically just picked them on appearance alone. Has your opinion changed since then?

Around 15-25 minutes, if you lucky enough to keep getting L size training bag. Actually, the most difficult and tedious part is when builidng your base stat from zero since you absolutely can't start rightly to 3rd tier super traning that yield 12 EV points. I could be miss on the rough time estimation since my luck suck enough to keep me away form L size training bag even though I finished most session under 20 seconds.

Thanks. No wonder he has his own movie. His design is kinda weird for a legendary though. I'm kinda used to the legendary Pokemon being huge and intimidating, or small with a mysterious look to them.
Not really since completing the mini games no matter what still yields EV point. But the L Size training bags gives you 12 EV points, doubling the result you received for that session with less tedious task. If only S size bag yield 4 points, M size yield 8 points, it would make the proccess a lot faster.
