It's because HG/SS were really well made and fixed a lot of the problems the original game had. Perhaps their mind will change on Gen 3 once they play the remakes. Who knows!?

I can't wait to see how the gym leaders look in this remake. I've always felt gen 3's were bland, but had high potential. Let's hope they use it.

I can't wait to see the new Brawly, Steven and Flannery.
I wonder if Sugimori or Ohmura is going to illustrate the major NPCs this time.

Hoenn had some friggin' sweet new critters. Crawdaunt, Absol, Cacturne, Blaziken, Tropius, Salamence, Metagross, Altaria... The list goes on and on.
I really looking forward to seeing how they redesign Sidney, myself. He's always seemed to be the worst-designed Dark-type trainer in the series to me, so hopefully Sugimori can work his Sugimagic and make him look cooler this time around

I am looking forward to using only Hoenn Pokemon in the remakes.

Yeah, Hoenn was filled with killers. Johto's roster was laughably weak aside from 3-4 monsters.
X/Y only have about 475 or so available.

I'm not sure how they could do that considering how they're angling the camera in the overworld now. It'd be great if they could do it though.
Probably put them in postgame Safari Zone like they did in Emerald with Johto pokemon.

Just to be scientific,
Not counting starters or legendaries:
Gen 1: 7
Gen 2: 4
Gen 3: 8
Gen 4: 12
Gen 5: 14
Of course it makes sense for Gen 4 and 5 to have more unobtainable since they are the easiest to transfer over.
That's one specific stat.
If they just make Amie 2.0 into Nintendogs style, I'll be alright with not having Pokemon follow me.
There's 4 regular Hoenn lines not available in X/Y if Serebii's got it right.
It's just an estimate. Sometimes it's closer to 1/5th or 1/4th depending on the size of the generation.

Musicals really blew. There's no challenge or agency to it at all.
I moved all of my Pokemon from the older games either into X, Black 2, or the PokeBank recently.

So the announcement of ORAS got me to buy Pokemon Y at Walmart today. I already had X digital so now I have them both.
Posting this here because the other thread is so bad with list wars it is easy to miss this.
