The only thing she does is drool over Ash and cook Poké Puffs. Worst companion ever. Watching Korrina and Lucario's arc made me wish she was the companion in this saga.

She actually does try out different things - that's her goal. That and getting on Ash's pants. It's a breath of fresh air to say the least.
And you do know you have a pitfall with regards to Korrina. Once she does her job her role is done - so she'd end up doing nothing afterwards.

Fair point, I haven't looked at Serena's character from this perspective. I don't mind Serena liking Ash, I just wish she wasn't defined by this specific characteristic. The way it is now, in the future, we will remember Serena solely for being "the girl who wanted to get on Ash's pants".
In regards of Korrina, that is true, but if she was one of the main characters, it would take the whole XY saga until she did her job completely.

I'm hoping to get a Charizard Y megastone. I have pokemon X. My other option is to drive to a gamestop, buy a used Pokemon Y and play until I get get it so I can put it in the bank, but that's a huge hassle. So if someone has a Y stone to spare, I would appreciate it greatly.

You can't put items in the bank.
You can't give it to a pokemon for them to hold either? That....sucks.

It's super dumb that you can't give items to Pokemon in the Bank. One of the big things behind the bank was to future proof gen swapping of Pokemon for the rest of time but now we are going to have to have an item reset EVERY gen. All my Mega Stones... my Strange Souvenir...

I think the reason for not transferring items goes more to rare candies, masterballs, and other items that can make the start of a game easy. At least with the badge system, a traded pokemon might not listen if you're underlevelled. But items can easily make the beginning portion of the game even easier. Like a person can technically transfer non-stop masterballs to a new game and technically catch anything at anytime. Sure it can be time consuming but thats probably something they don't want to see.

They could, but given how XY had the bank available from the beginning, it's very possible they don't intend to put that kind of limitation in the near future at least.
What is this strange souvenir you speak of?
I stopped playing after beating the elite 4 and getting the legendaries but I haven't even done the Looker quest lol

I looked up what you're supposed to do and if there's any rewards and it's not worth doing in the slightest. Such an awful post-E4 quest.

It's mostly doing for a closure on Xerosic and what happened to Looker. It's a nice tidbit. And some nice slums stuff in Lumiose.
Here's hoping that Pokemon Z or whatever will have more things to do post E4. I completely stopped playing mine post E4 too... Maybe I will try to get all of the Pokemon again, but transferring all of them back from my old games through the bank seems like such a hassle.

Getting a full pokedex is easy, and a ton of gaffers can provide pokemon to look at to fill the dex since many in the XY thread run full livingdexes. The GTS is pretty much the easiest way to get any non-legendary.
Getting a living dex is slightly trickier but still possible, a ton of gaffers can provide the legendaries.

After about a ~1.5 year hiatus I've decided to dip back into my 5th gen backlog. I had done pretty much everything in Black 1 except legendary capturing, so I reacquainted myself with the RNG-related techniques and have pretty much finished it off now; only Landorus remains. It's a good thing I already had extensive experience with this stuff in 4th gen because the relevant PC tools seem to get more and more complicated with each game.
The BW1 roamers are obnoxiously difficult; natures are a crapshoot no matter what. I probably would have settled on the first Speed boosting one I got for this guy in any case, but I'm pretty grateful that it ended up being Naive.
Fuck whoever decided that Baton Pass should no longer pass Mean Look. Seriously. Even capturing this one was more of a chore than usual due to that. And I refuse to snag RNG'd legendaries in anything but a Premier Ballbecause I hate myself. Now to unceremoniously toss him into the virtual trophy case and forget about him.
Finishing off Black 2 next, which I dropped pretty early in the quest.
Anyway, I still haven't hopped on the 6th gen train yet. Might jump in for the remakes, might not. An eventual "Z" version is pretty much a given, right?

I hate everyone involved in the quest, though. I can't see how it could possibly get better.

People think the Looker quest is great relative to the terrible main story. On its own it is just boring quests that just takes way too long to complete with so many battles and the holocaster crap. It just reused old areas for the most part.
The Looker is awesome in Platinum and Black/White, in X/Y, not so much.

Erm. That's the order everyone playing the game went, too. Because you go through Connecting Cave to Ambrette, then do stuff around there and north to Cyllage.

I'm just gonna go ahead and do the Looker quest since I have some time this weekend.
Had to look up the steps to trigger it though. Arceus knows when I would've figured that out as simple as it sounds. I've never found much interest in any Battle Tower-esque type side challenges so I didn't know having and winning at least one match was a thing.
