I would argue that's merely because he was so recent.Lysandre's crap, but at least I could remember him without looking him up.
Lysandre was at least half decent in the anime, not least because they basically chucked his role in the games out of the window. Archer and co. had NOTHING.I would argue that's merely because he was so recent.
Give it 5-10 years and he will be completely gone from our collective memory.

Guzma
Lusamine
Giovanni (although this is mostly because he's had the most time to be developed compared to everyone else)
Archie
Ghetsis
Maxie
Johto Rockets (Individually they'd be way too low, together they're fine. Hell, Archer gets maybe 6 sentences maximum.)
Cyrus
Cyrus 2: Lysandre
Also found this when browsing: Hour long interview with Game Freak's sound team. Features Go Ichinose (Route 26, Frontier Brain), Junichi Masuda (All of Gen 1, most battle themes), and Minako Adachi (Anistar City, Team Skull Grunt) talking about the process of making the music, sadly I don't think there's English subs (yet). Feel like Game Freak interviews are kinda rare so I figured I'd link it.
FRLG/Fame Checker, HGSS, BW2 (not much). Origins/Generations? I mostly put him that high because of how well known he is to most people even faintly familiar to the franchise, otherwise it took him over a decade to even reach Ghetsis' level in terms of motivation. If we were only doing initial appearances he'd be under Maxie. How was Giovanni developed at all
This all goes to show- most of the best Pokémon villains are shitty parents.

The fact that I'm not sure whether or not that's canon tells you all you need to know about that. Is there even any evidence beyond her hair?Yeah but
isn't arianna supposed to be silver's shitty mom?

I'm led to believe the pokemon devs have parent issues.
Though I'm more interested in what issues SM's writers (or maybe the localisation team?) were having with mortality. There is so much talking about death in Sun and Moon.
I mean on paper Lusamine's goals are pretty simple: she wants toGiovanni is only interesting cause he's a mob boss in a group of extremist terrorists with their heads in the clouds. His grounded goals are refreshing against destroying the world or becoming its absolute ruler, etc.
Do they always try to stick to the 4 move rule for the anime or are there exceptions?

Drake's Dragonite learned more than 4 during the Orange League filler arc.
Earlier on it was more lax, but now they're more strict about game mechanics.
Except Trick Room.
Dragonite used ten different moves during one episode. This was done by the writer of the episode, Atsuhiro Tomioka, to make Dragonite seem more unstoppable.
I think after Hoenn is when he sticks with 4 moves.Ash's Pikachu where I'm at now seems to use 5 attacks. Thundershock, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Quick Attack, Agility. Though, 3 of them are completely redundant as they're used up to Johto.
What's this about Trick Room?
Why would you think that?Is it bad that I just realized(anime spoilers)that's a fucking NIhilego egg.
Why would you think that?
The egg pattern doesn't match up with its designs.
You know I'm gonna say it here.
Follower Pokemon in SM wouldn't really work unless they re-do the whole routes and make them more open.
I mean they could do what they did with bigger Pokemon and just have them not appear in tighter spaces but...
Really, Follower Pokemon (for all Pokemon) wouldn't work period. Like you make a selection of Pokemon that don't look too janky next to your player character but like Alolan Exeggutor? Wailord? Celesteela? Joltik? Flabebe? Cutiefly? All either too big or too small to reasonably show next to your character. You could probably limit to starters/evos, Pikachu, and some fan favorites, but every Pokemon is too big a stretch.
Yeah, it doeslook at it's "hat"
Isn't the egg pretty much confirmed to be?Alolan Vulpix
Are you sure it's not Vulpix inside? That would be much simpler than THAT coming out of an egg this early in the anime XD
I think it could easily work in HD. Obviously many pokemon wont be properly scaled though
Still holding out hope that this feature comes back along with a more natural following algorithm like in santalune forest
Ah, comparing designs, you're probably right. Although in my defense, the puffs on the eggs do look more like flowers than actual puffs.
1) How does HD fix any problem I just mentioned?
2) I'm literally talking about the problems that come from scaling. The lack of proper scaling is bad enough in battles as it is. It's better to just leave them out.
New anime preview https://youtu.be/okLq9SfVJFk. Looks like it shows:
-Kiawe focused episode
-Litten returning
-Rowlet using a Z-move
-Ash vs Hala
OK well I thought you said it wouldn't work period, which it easily could. How does higher resolution and more screen space fix the graphical representation (specifically your claims of Pokemon being too big or small to be seen properly) of Pokemon in the overworld? Well it's pretty self explanatory...
