Headed back after a disappointing Lure Module and ran smack dab into a 182CP Squirtle.

Was in for minute. Hit a couple stops then tried to catch an Eevee, was booted out before the third snap and lost connection again. Every time I lose pokeballs this way it pinches my heart a little... I spent money on this. It's disheartening. I really want to enjoy the game but it keeps letting me down.

Just spent like 20 pokeballs trying to catch a Pidgeot. Every time I caught the thing it would escape. This happened a few times before it ran away. What gives?
Doesn't look like they re-enabled that feature in the Ingress app unless I'm missing something :/

Does this game have literally no tutorials? I read a kotaku article about arrows and stuff but didn't see them in my game.
I really, really hope people don't find a way to datamine or cheat their location in this game. If they have crazy Pokemon hidden in crazy places, I want people to actually have to find them. That's going to make it so much more exciting when someone in the world finds where Zapdos is.

I was booted yesterday around 11am and every attempt to connect since just loops me back around to the signup screen, gives me an "can't authenticate" message or just loops the rotating pokeball animation forever.

Nice, servers seem okay for now. Gonna go out and check out the gyms before this storm hits. Apparently my fellow Mystics have been taking over all the gyms... one has a 750CP Tentacruel!

Yeah there seems to be no shortage of Pidgey's around here, the Pidgeot was just the first time I've had one of them escape. I'm only level 4 though, so maybe that becomes less likely as I gain levels?

Yeah, from level 8 you can get Razz berries as drops. Feed them to a pokemon, and you can catch it easier.
this just happened to me,3 poke ball gone,fortunately i can pick up more because the poke stop is 200 meter away from my home.

Yeah, you're probably the only one. I haven't heard of anyone else having server issues.
Yeah if you're getting booted, losing progress etc I'd just wait until you hear the issues are lessening, or at least off peak NA times like 10pm onward est. It's not worth getting frustrated over, they are just absolutely gasping for air over at the data centers right now.
Also, as tempting as it is, don't spend any money or use any of the real time items yet unless you absolutely don't care about losing them. I think it's overall pretty unlikely there will be any compensation for lost stuff.

Let's say you want to take your kids hiking to get them out of the living room one weekend: Buy $5 pokemon bait and drop it on the map on i.e a hilltop where you are planning to camp. Bait will attract Pokemon for a 24 hour period. Different types of bait will attract different type of Pokemon.
I mean, it could create the same experience as in the promo image:

People should stop referencing data that makes me feel uncomfortable because games get ported to platforms I don't like
Can confirm that Trainer Club doesn't work right now because I just tried it and the game tries to sign in but 20 seconds later it kicks you to the previous screen were it asked you to sigh in with Google.
This sucks for us Trainer Club players...
Keeps that one on your screen, then as you hunt for it you can see if you're heading in the right direction as you get closer, without keeping the "nearby" screen open.
