I've only used incense, but from what I can tell, incense just brings you a Pokemon about every 5 minutes. I think lures attract more Pokemon, but everyone in the vicinity enjoys the effects. I think incense only benefits you, but I might be wrong.
 
Well, on my way home I came across a pidgeotto. I nearly got it until the servers went down (or the cat ate it).

I started up Pokémon Go before I went to sleep (don't do this) and saw Blastoise somewhere within range! I got in my car and chased it down. I only got one chance then it ran. I texted my friend and he's like, "next time, use a berry". I tell him I don't have any and he goes "are you sure? Pokéstops should be dropping them".

OH. OH YEAH OF COURSE. Let me just walk down to the nearest Pokéstop 3 miles away and farm it. Spoiled dude has a chain of 10+ on the track surrounding the lake-pond connected to his apartments. He can literally hit a stop every two minutes of walking and then keep making loops.
 
I just download the APK using Internet search (from UK).

This game doesn't use Nintendo's new account system?... I only see Sign up with Google and Pokémon Trailer Club. Really? They failed to unify with their second game?
 
Some pokemon have to be level dependent.

I'm level 12 and was walking with my sister, who had a level 9 account. I could see an Omanyte but she couldn't.

Was pretty salty about that, but she has a wartotle and I don't so meh.
 
So spent a few extra hours at a mall. Area was open with some restaurants and a movie theater steel running. Lots of small groups of people were playing this game. It's crazy!

I think I got enough candies to evolve my Meowth and Growlithe. I just evolved a Mankey into a Primape.

Took the local Starbucks with my roommates finally. Beat a 500 CP Charizard, 400 Pidgeot, and something I forget. Left behind a 1300 Venosaur, 1200 Flareon, and a 600 Dodrio. Chew on that one for a second Valor scum. D<
 
Servers shitting the bed now. Glad I didn't use the incense just now. That thing should really be for when you have the screen on. Having it based in real time sucks.
 
Lame! It's 2 am here and I just reached level 5 so I thought I'd take a short walk out to try my hand at a gym in the middle of the night &#128519;

Tomorrow is going to be even worse isn't it?
 
Finally back in, after 40 hours of being unable to get on. All the gyms in my really quiet little village in England have now been taken over and defended by really strong (600+) Pokemon within that time. Sigh.

Motherfucking Yellow's acting like they own the place. We about to throwdown in the house of god.

So, if I manage to clean sweep it alone, and beat all Pokemon, do I automatically make them lose the gym? Or do I have to do it like 4 times to make them lose all their points? I managed to get to Vapereon and lose narrowly alone, and made them lose 5,000 points. Please don't tell me I have to beat it 10 times to make it mine.

I lost because I forgot to put Jolteon as the last Pokemon to counter Vaporeon, and Parasect is shit and doesn't do any damage. Gonna swap him out for Machamp or the other Ponyta lol.
 
Dammit... I just logged in and sat for about 30 minutes to see how it would fare... No issues, so I popped an incense and got my shoes on to go do a quick walk and then the servers go down. Yay...
 
About to get up and walk to my closest Pokestop (which is barely on the map) and the server dies.

Dammit.

Yea, I had work for couple days, and in that time, my friends completely blew past me in progress. Feels kinda lonely, haha. They're running multiple gyms and taking road trips and I'm stuck here.
 
Bit the bullet and downloaded the APK. Turns out there's nothing near me. And I live right next to Gamefreak's office, just got back from the grocery store, which is on the ground floor of the GF office building... guessing it's a server issue?

I know GF didn't make the game, but there's no way Tokyo has no Pokémon, gyms, or pokestops.
 
I saw somebody set up a lure at the local pokestops (there are two so close you can get both at once). Hung out with about twenty people for a couple hours. Didn't catch anything good, but got a lot of fodder. Then the servers shit out just as a dude put down two more lures. He was pissed. Can't wait to do the same tomorrow night.

If they really had a commitment to make people go outside everyone should be able to take a 30 minutt walk from their home, hit at least one pokestop and catch 3-4 pokemon as a minimum.

I had plans to break into a place, have bad dreams about my gym being taken over and going and farming some pokeballs in the middle of the night when I wake from said dreams, so you are on the sane side of things still.

I think I read that since it hasn't been released there, the map is "turned off" or something like that.
 
Oh shit, my PTC login worked! Too bad it's 3:40am and I'm about to go to bed and it probably won't be working when I wake up lol
